This was pretty great. I love this show. I could watch Will Arnet and Tracy Morgan all day.

johnny crunch, Saturday, 1 November 2008 14:16 (seventeen years ago)

This seemed like one of those episodes that's mostly about setting stuff up for later, but there were some great lines.

polyphonic, Saturday, 1 November 2008 21:04 (seventeen years ago)

has the female tgs writer who went to remove porn from her office ever been given a name? seems like she's been in the background in lots of episodes.

"Girl writer"

maybe one of my favorite shows of all time and w th added bonus of propamisstrexx stoppin in my store a month back buying stuff for th show...a totally mod orange ball radio made ironically by GE that spins inside of a chrome holder, but unironically only receives AM,an 8 track player i outfitted with a generic tape of soul hits titled AFRO underneath which was an african flag.and a pair of brass lamps for Alecs new apartment...she couldnt believe i heard of th show..which from this thread i suspect might be some sort of pre installed incredulity response...im watchin th debut tonite on hulu..cux my gf wouldnt let me leave her side to run home and see it.

30 rock spoilers in the first couple of minutes (and 40 tedious minutes discussing her impersonation of palin): http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?i=43858442&id=214089682

Not a top episode but

"I am also a white man and..."

"No you're not. Socioeconomically, you're more like an inner-city Latina."

WHY DO YOU HAVE CLAWS ON YOUR HANDS

They ran out of paint because I insisted they do my buttocks.

Jenna looks different...nose job?

ILX MOD (musically), Friday, 7 November 2008 06:51 (seventeen years ago)

"That guy looks up to everybody. He even calls Tracy's lizard 'sir.'"

Jouster, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:36 (seventeen years ago)

Good episode. I like that "Oprah" was able to actually help Tracy and Jenna.

Without more Pete, no good episode can be a great episode though. Although, Twofer's presence helps.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:40 (seventeen years ago)

so im the only one who thinks pete is basically the least funny character

barack husession (J0rdan S.), Friday, 7 November 2008 07:41 (seventeen years ago)

also i hope i'm not the only one thinking about starting "thread of missing dr. spaceman"

barack husession (J0rdan S.), Friday, 7 November 2008 07:42 (seventeen years ago)

Pete isn't unfunny (he's had some great stuff), but he's basically required to be the straight man almost 100% of the time. It's a bummer, though, because Scott Adsit is capable of great stuff (Mr. Show, woot!).

Jouster, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:45 (seventeen years ago)

Love Pete. Want more Twofer too. Less Kenneth would be fine.

Super Cub, Friday, 7 November 2008 08:16 (seventeen years ago)

While we're on the subject, Frank does not deserve to be in the opening credits.

Jouster, Friday, 7 November 2008 08:26 (seventeen years ago)

Spaceman will return. You can be sure of it.

The Lyrical Jesse James (Pillbox), Friday, 7 November 2008 08:31 (seventeen years ago)

Less Kenneth would be fine.

I actually liked Kenneth in this episode but: Having just watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall (meh, mostly), I'm wondering if that actor can do anything even slightly different then the babe-in-the-woods schtick.

The Lyrical Jesse James (Pillbox), Friday, 7 November 2008 08:34 (seventeen years ago)

this ep lold throughout

No, my least favorite episodes are the ones that include a plot line involving Pete.

When was he on Mr. Show? I've watched every episode many times but don't remember him.

I'm snitting next to Borpo!

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:04 (seventeen years ago)

does anyone else notice that tracy morgan has gained at least 15 pounds since last season?

YGS, Saturday, 8 November 2008 16:41 (seventeen years ago)

oprah is so perfect on this

Mr. Que, Saturday, 8 November 2008 17:37 (seventeen years ago)

one of my favorite lines was when liz was listing oprah's new favorite things and one of them was chinese checkers

z z. st. z z. uv (Lamp), Saturday, 8 November 2008 17:39 (seventeen years ago)

Where is rachel dratch? Who else would be willing to trade out 3 cast members (your choice) for a permanent spot for dratch?

I hope this show remains under threat of cancellation, as it will give the writers cart blanche to go crazy, believing the show is doomed.

One of the last episodes of the X-Files had a psychic who recreated the Brady Bunch set and characters that killed people with his crazy psychic powers. That's how crazy-awesome 30 rock should be ALL THE TIME.

Philip Nunez, Saturday, 8 November 2008 17:48 (seventeen years ago)

it's been well established that dratch is out of the running.

Every Day Jimmy Mod Is Hustlin' (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Saturday, 8 November 2008 17:57 (seventeen years ago)

episode sucked. only funny part was the monster claw.

cutty, Saturday, 8 November 2008 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

oh and jenna in blackface

cutty, Saturday, 8 November 2008 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

i got some laughs out of it for sure, although i guess it trailed off by the end

Jordan, Saturday, 8 November 2008 18:27 (seventeen years ago)

bad episode, but jenna in blackface was hilarious

caek, Saturday, 8 November 2008 18:34 (seventeen years ago)

hey who's the actor who plays the guys who accidentally sent flowers to liz?

LUTE JOINTS (Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃), Saturday, 8 November 2008 18:48 (seventeen years ago)

Jason Sudeikis?

caek, Saturday, 8 November 2008 18:52 (seventeen years ago)

When people say "bad episode", do they mean "bad episode of 30 Rock" or "bad episode in general"? Even if this was a weaker episode, a weak 30 Rock episode is still funnier than most things on TV.

"I don't believe in hypotheticals Mr. Donagy...it's like lying to your brain." is a line we should all cherish.

Gukbe, Saturday, 8 November 2008 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

I think both eps so far this year are roundly and soundly good.

Also, Jennifer Anniston looks like she'll be pretty good at her cameo as a psycho next week.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 8 November 2008 19:42 (seventeen years ago)

jenna in blackface was hilarious

Considering how much I hated her on Ally McBeal, I find Jane K. completely amazing on this show. She is a national treasure.

polyphonic, Saturday, 8 November 2008 19:56 (seventeen years ago)

I liked her on Ally McBeal...because I never watched the show. Before 30 Rock, I only knew her via the talk show circuit.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 8 November 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)

We all make mistakes, and watching a few episodes of that show was one of mine.

But I mean Robert Downey Jr. was on it for awhile! Hard for me to resist that dude. And the guy from Ghostbusters II!

polyphonic, Saturday, 8 November 2008 19:59 (seventeen years ago)

The monster claw was really a nice touch.

polyphonic, Saturday, 8 November 2008 20:21 (seventeen years ago)

Dizziness, sexual nightmares, and sleep crime.
