PARKS and RECREATION aka "Everything's coming up Amy"

jerry epi was total garbage and the character should be killed for being unfunny. low point of series is poehler saying HEY LOOK HOW FUNNY THIS VIDEO IS --> UNFUNNY VIDEO. having vaguely "credible" actors like aziz/plaza/jones makes this show seem better than (like) "scrubs", but it really isn't.

im not mad. they put jerry up front to make it seem like, oh, hey, p&r is different because even it's minor characters are a rich source of humour. bullshit.

I keep thinking about starting the NBC thursday night comedy show poll but I don't think I would actually want to read that thread?

fwiw I think all four shows range from "good" to "holy shit I can't believe something this amazing is on television" with Community as the weakest link

Current season of NBC's Thursday night comedy line-up

i loved jerry, i love all four of these shows. i am afraid of n/a's latest poll.

Catching up on past episodes and I can't help but rewind a couple times through DJ Roomba.

been watching a few episodes lately, show is growing on me a little, was amazed at the one where they actually gave Rashida Jones a couple of funny lines. they really need to try harder w/ her character, she doesn't even work w/ everyone else so it's like if they shoehorn her into the plot there need to be some jokes there.

just can't stand Aziz Ansari more and more, though, guy is just a vortex of unfunny, and they want him so bad to be this wacky lightening rod character he can't pull off.

I feel like Tom Haverford isn't really characterized consistently. There should be endless material with his strip club obsessions etc., but instead all we get are one-liners.

But man, did they ever knock it out of the park when they came up with RON FUCKING SWANSON.

i think yall are being a bit harsh. it's not his fault the P&R writing team is rubbish.

some1 posted that scene from "the office" where michael scott "does" chris rock: there isn't a single scene of that quality in P&R.

i don't think AA is a comedic genius or ne thing but "if that was a drug deal i'd be shooting _________ in the face" is a good meme imo.

the only person who doesn't thrill me on this show is mark. i know that they need some straight men/women, but he just seems like he should be on the office. all his reaction shots are so office-y.

aziz's tom haverford is the only character on the show that doesn't feel like a real person, and that really sticks out like a sore thumb.

He reminds me of a couple guys I know.
