I miss Jeopardy a lot. UK's quiz shows just aren't the same.

oh ohh, and IRL, do the questions actually make those random musical noises when they populate the screens at the start of each round, or is that added in afterwards in editing? do they even still do that anymore? I haven't seen an episode in ages.

and by 'questions' I mean 'answers', when they are displayed as money $$$ values ($200, $400, etc) (sorry for spamming thread, I am done now)

Yeah, it's tricky. You have to wait until these lights around the game board light up before you can buzz in, and if you buzz in beforehand, you're locked out for a split second. Truth be told, I mostly ignored the lights and just buzzed in a beat after Alex finished the clue.

Yes. I was actually surprised by how much of that stuff was actually live. The Daily Double noises, too. And all the graphics are in place on the monitors. After each round, though, they would have Alex re-record a clue if he mispronounced something or otherwise stumbled -- I assume that's then dubbed in during post.

There weren't any categories that were explicitly music-related, no.

I was somewhat lacking in the nice-clothes-to-wear-on-national-television department, so I went to Banana Republic and bought a few things. I showed up in a slate gray shirt and black tie (no jacket).

haha i saw that one in the newspaper yesterday (you know how they run printed final jeopardies as an ad for the show) and got hung up on the pounds sterling aspect, thinking it had to be a clue. "Solid Gold Records???"

nah, i get it. if the other gal had beet just enough to surpass donna's total, then donna hedges by outbetting her slightly.

it's a betting strategy that works only if everyone gets that question right though.

i took the test online tonight kind of on a whim, i know i got at least half of them right, but i think 35 out of 50 is the cutoff so idk abt that. im gonna forgot about this for a few months then watch a grip of episodes on netflix again and say "hey maybe i should take the jeopardy test."

(it may have been 15 seconds per question, i just went into a fugue state and tried pretyping "what is" before i read each clue)
