We like to think of it as a "hobby."

and poor eyesight and impaired decision making processes

See above.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:56 (twenty years ago)

So I'm gonna ask again, does anyone wanna karaoke soon?

PLEEEEEEEASE?

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:57 (twenty years ago)

i think of it as a non-paying job. certainly putting in enough hours lately.

i got yelled at by a guy with no thumbs last night.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:57 (twenty years ago)

(Yes, K. Let's plan it. Oh, and I want to find a snippet of that Harrison song on Amazon or somewhere to jog my memory.)

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:59 (twenty years ago)

We are going here for drinks. These ladies aren't hip enough to hang in the Uke.

We could kareoke for Nick's bday? (it's May 15th, a Monday, when we have a show, but maybe we could do it the preceeding weekend, like Friday the 12th or Sat the 13th?)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:59 (twenty years ago)

I still haven't found a good bar close to my new place yet (Milwaukee/Kedzie.) Suggestions?

The Whirlaway, 3224 W. Fullerton.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:01 (twenty years ago)

I kind of look forward to the long pain in the balls public transport trip to Ikea. From my home it would be Foster CTA bus to Irving Park Blue Line. Blue Line to Rosemont and then Pace to Ikea. I think it would be a nice way to see tings in a different way.

xpost--karaoke = yes. also = advance warning.

also MAY 12 IS MY FUCKING BIRTHDAY! AND I WANNA GO TO RED LOBSTER!

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:02 (twenty years ago)

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:02 (twenty years ago)

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:02 (twenty years ago)

gbx (skowly), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:03 (twenty years ago)

Make it Saturday, please?

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:03 (twenty years ago)

Hell yes, that's close! You're the man, I owe you a beer.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:04 (twenty years ago)

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:04 (twenty years ago)

We could kareoke for Nick's bday? (it's May 15th, a Monday, when we have a show, but maybe we could do it the preceeding weekend, like Friday the 12th or Sat the 13th?)

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:04 (twenty years ago)

Red Lobster?!?

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:05 (twenty years ago)

Dude works at a fancy seafood restaurant and all he wants for his birthday is Red Lobster.

ROFFLECOPTER

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:06 (twenty years ago)

Exactly.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:07 (twenty years ago)

Anyone, no one's gonna back me up on the Whirlaway? The Mexican woman who owns it puts out free food for patrons all the time.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:07 (twenty years ago)

I haven't been (yet) but I trust your suggestion.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:08 (twenty years ago)

Small Bar is nice, too.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:09 (twenty years ago)

I want to go to Red Lobster because I want to eat LOBSTER and KING CRAB LEGS but they're very expensive where I work. There is virtually no way to fuck up crab legs, and they are a lot cheaper at The Crimson Claw.

It's an occasional lunch spot for folks at Catch who go there in between shifts at their jobs at the fancy seafood restaurant.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:10 (twenty years ago)

To be honest, Whirlaway is kind of dingy -- I want to say it's carpeted! -- but very friendly, the sort of place you could go right after work or on a weekend afternoon and feel welcome.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:10 (twenty years ago)

fuck red lobster

fuck yeah karaoke

i want to sing some steely dan

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

I had at least 4 pounds of crawfish this weekend.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

I've been looking forward to Red Lobster Birthday Bash for months and months and months and months. Maybe we can put that off till Courtney comes and make it both of our B-days in one, but I'm afraid she might not want the crab for her b-day.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

1. SKIRT GOOD. I love it and I think you must look prosh in it and people are glaring because they are envious. Of course, I just walked down Clark St. dressed like a batshit insane person so take my accolades w/ salt grains.

2. BEER GOOD. But I can't go because of exams and studying and self-loathing.

3. KARAOKE GOOOOOOOD. But I can't go this weekend or next but that's okay because after that I COULD GO EVERY FUCKING NIGHT UNTIL THE END OF AUGUST IF I WANTED. So have fun and practice up for my explosive karaoke return post 5/15.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

I LURRRRRRV ALASKAN KING CRAB!

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:12 (twenty years ago)

I don't think there's anything I can eat at Red Lobster. I will check... Um, no. It doesn't look like there is.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:12 (twenty years ago)

Awesome. So we're having this work happy hour at 5pm and people are already starting to leave for it.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:13 (twenty years ago)

You can eat hush puppies, can't you, Sarah? We can just get you a big bowl of them at the Lobster.

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:15 (twenty years ago)

Goddamn I love crab legs.

So Saturday May 14 -- Mutha's Day. I am going to start practicing now so you're all more impressed this time. I know you all better, so that helps. OMG so excited.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:17 (twenty years ago)

may 14th is a sunday.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:18 (twenty years ago)

Sorry -- make that MAY 13!

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:19 (twenty years ago)

Mother's Day is always a Sunday.

COURTNEY JUST CALLED! She wants:

-Big Chicks
-Cubs game (she says only if she can see a guy choke another guy again)
-she's not sure of Red Lobster

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:20 (twenty years ago)

-AND A RIVERBOAT TOUR

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:20 (twenty years ago)

May 13 is Mutha's Day. May 14 is the comparatively staid Mother's day.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:21 (twenty years ago)

i'm just about out of here, enjoy your evenings.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:21 (twenty years ago)

Someday you'll all pay me to write your wills and this will have been worth it.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:22 (twenty years ago)

DRAFT your wills, I mean.

That's why they don't let law students practice law yet. We're dumb.

I can't remember a time I haven't enjoyed not enjoyed Red Lobster.

Jeff. (Jeff), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:23 (twenty years ago)

I don't know if I've ever been to a Red Lobster.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:24 (twenty years ago)

I had a megarita there once and it was very sweet and not very strong.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:27 (twenty years ago)

I think I went to Red Lobster once with my ex. Can't remember what I had or didn't have.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:29 (twenty years ago)

I've never been, but when my boss had her wallet stolen and the credit card was used to rack up $200 of charges at Red Lobster, she didn't have very much trouble convincing her company that her kosher-keeping self HADN'T DONE IT.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:29 (twenty years ago)

I've never been to Sizzler either. There's a whole world of chain restaurants out there just waiting to be discovered!

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Sizzler is pretty gross. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in 4eva so I don't remember how I feel about it.

Jeff, Jesse, and I and another friend of ours did go to Olive Garden under the influence of... things... a couple summers ago. That was not as much fun as it sounds.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

No, it wasn't. Maybe if we had still been fully under the influence, but with the cruddy coming down feeling, it sucked.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:39 (twenty years ago)

Lots of butter and salt...

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:45 (twenty years ago)

Mass produced alfredo sauce is wicked gross and that's what I think of when I think OLIVE GARDEN.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:46 (twenty years ago)

I don't think "FAMILY" at all.
