However, I think Liz has gotten worse since the earlier seasons. Just this season I've started to dislike some of Liz's antics instead of brushing off the unfunny stuff as whatever. Liz is sort of like Michael Scott (The Office) - he has become more horrendous in his buffoonyness the past couple seasons; Liz has become more gross and more of a dork lately and some of it actually irritates me. I dunno, do any of you agree?

i could see that line of thinking but she is far, far away from michasel scott levels of embarrassing self-parody
― hitler runoff (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 13 March 2010 03:24 (sixteen years ago)
I agree except for the being irritated part.
― probably a sock!! (╓abies), Saturday, 13 March 2010 03:25 (sixteen years ago)
also the thing about liz vs michael scott is that they actually write jokes for liz's character... for instance the cheese brochure thing and the amazing paranormal activity sleep walking thing -- with michael scott on the otherhand the character now boils down to "LOL I AM STILL A RACIST EVEN THOUGH I DON'T KNOW IT"
― hitler runoff (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 13 March 2010 03:26 (sixteen years ago)
i dont really want to indulge in comparative sitcom studies here so ill just say liz has become uncomfortably schticky
― ice cr?m, Saturday, 13 March 2010 03:28 (sixteen years ago)
but the cheese brochure! so good.

no av club but i was watching the 1st season the other week and it was a lot less schticky and a lot, i dunno, deeper. not necc better/worse, just the diff. between season 1 of the simpsons and season 6 or whatever
― max, Saturday, 13 March 2010 12:15 (sixteen years ago)
basically yeah
― caek, Saturday, 13 March 2010 12:32 (sixteen years ago)
idk... couldn't generalize. in some ways it's LESS shticky imo (except for kenneth but he's always been my least favourite character). like there are fewer fake catchphrases now, i think. it's all good though. <3 elizabeth banks.

― max, Saturday, 13 March 2010 13:00 (sixteen years ago)
there was a joke that i forgot but just googled. when that canadian dude learns how to do sarcasm and says "that went well!". genius. n e way, what im saying is, 30 rock hasn't got into "that went well!" territory, lazy jokes-wise.
