You're gonna have to explain this dairy-hate.
Mega Multi x-post...
I just thought it was such a lazy joke; insulting to the character; all around bad writing (only characters in movies wake up like that, and always as sloppy segues for new scenes; think cartoon security guards dozing as robbers tiptoe past or something like that).
I always CRINGE when critics of the show say stuff like "I gave up with the whole polar bear thing - and how is that one guy still so fat?!?! HAHAHAZzzzz," since in reality they've addressed the issue and actually made Hurley's weight a part of his character (pretty sophisticated discussions and plotting around his shame and guilt) rather than his ENTIRE character (LOL Fatty dreams of cheese curds!).

Would it make you more or less appeased if "cheese curds" turned out to be a vital clue to the nature of the island?

Ha, maybe in alt-universe, he said cheese carrots.
That's an excellent drawing!
― Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:04 (sixteen years ago)
he definitely said cheese carrots!
― shite new answers (cutty), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:04 (sixteen years ago)
The only side flashes I didn't enjoy were the Sayid ones (lol, I even enjoyed the Kate ones on some level). But I can totally understand the hostility to them. Because a lot of people understandably can't fathom how they're relevant or why they should care about them. I don't know whether they'll end up mattering or not, but I'm enjoying them more than I thought I would've before the season began.
lotta x-posts,

100% cheese carrots

LOST deserves a special Emmy if it turned out they broadcast different "curds/carrots" versions in different markets.
― Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:06 (sixteen years ago)
I think they did recover his body in the alt, they just didn't show it. Jack's mother said David was upset at the funeral, indicating that there WAS a funeral, indicating that they had gotten the body? That was my thought process anyway, which made the whole missing body thing a let down, imo.
In "Lighthouse" they talk about the funeral in the past-tense, but also Jack's mom asks for a status report on the missing coffin. I think they had the funeral without the body.

Guess I missed that then.

I was hoping hulu could settle the Great Cheese Debate, but it's just mucked it up even more:

The folks on alt.tv.lost heard both, but also someone thought he said "cheese curls"

I just listened to it again and it is definitely not "cheese curls".

hahaha ok curds is fine, I even asked my wife "did he just say "cheese carrots?"
― sleeve, Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:28 (sixteen years ago)
PS I am willing to forgive Brits for thinking he said "cheese carrots" because "cheese carrots" are probably an actual food item in the "UK" (like some kind of disgusting candy I'm guessing)
― congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:29 (sixteen years ago)
When I listened to it just now I will admit that it sounded like "carrots" initially, but "curds" was also plausible.
I didn't even hear that line last night.
― Your body is a spiderland (polyphonic), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:29 (sixteen years ago)
Use your IMAGINATION, Nick.

Don't remember the line from last night, but maybe it was "cheese, carrots,..."
― Mister Jim, Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:32 (sixteen years ago)
I just assumed is was like diced carrots covered in cheddar like some dr. strongo's neuvo cuisine shit
― puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:33 (sixteen years ago)
I just listened to it again (11min,52sec) and he's doing some weird Tuvan throat thing where there's definitely a "smokey" presence saying carrots in addition to the regularly voiced curds.
Jacob is a curd man, apparently.
― Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:37 (sixteen years ago)
Thought this was the best sideways flash yet, mostly because Dr Linus was lol and him and Arszt buddying up was totally lol.
Not much actually happened in this one but it was still enjoyable if only because Michael Emerson is so great. Still, for the last few minutes I was totally expecting him to get shot because he'd just gone through his whole redemption - either by Ilana or the sub crosshair. Still, good to see the sub CGI is still reliably shit.
Liked existential crisis Richard as well. I hope we do get an episode that explains the Black Rock at the very least (ie what it's doing in the middle of the island).
The Sawyer episode should give us the biggest clue as to when the timelines divided - it sort of hinges over whether Locke's dad is an arsehole conman or not, because Sawyer's parents were already dead by the time the bomb went off. Or at least I think they were, if someone could clear that up it'd be good.
I hope this series ends with Miles sitting on a big pile of diamonds being sarcastic all day.
― Maraca Son Sistema (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:52 (sixteen years ago)
Also I hope the Widmore ending paves the way for DESMOND to return to the island. There's been nowhere near enough Desmond in this series.
― Maraca Son Sistema (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:53 (sixteen years ago)
Desmond is in the cast for the season, so it's fair to say that we'll see more of him.
― Your body is a spiderland (polyphonic), Wednesday, 10 March 2010 22:56 (sixteen years ago)
I think Desmond and Jin have been the only characters on this show that while waiting to reunite with a loved one weren't totally annoying about it.
Also Sawyers parents def died before the incident. He talked about it during his "What's Done is Done" speech in seas 5 finale.

I'd guess the island got moved via donkey wheel once and wound up right under a ship.

AFTER ALL THIS TIME ALL I KNOW IS THIS: in my ideal flash sideways world, Ana Lucia and Ilana become very VERY good friends.
lol...you are v right.
amazed at people thinking the sideways is actually like a great fucking life or some shit. didn't anyone else reckon locke in the sideways was v v similar to evil smokey locke in the normal timeline in tonight's ep? eg you should be principal, go for it dude, you can be the boss. was on the exact same satan tempting people tip as flocke....
i don't believe for a second jacob is going to be the bad guy either, smokey has just murdered a load of people ffs.
it's all set up now for jack as jacob....he believes.
no idea how widmore is going to fit in mind you.
