so been rewatching...if locke is paralysed in the sideways timeline, and his dad is invited to the wedding, then WHO PARALYSED HIM?

been sort of wondering if the sideways is some sort of smokey controlled world. also is smokey getting off the island basically some doomsday scenario, eg he starts causing havoc in the real world? have a feeling it might build to this (without him ever succeeding...but these are fairly wacked out theories.)

^^ i don't think that's wacked out. there has to be more to the sideways timeline than the bullshit we've been getting

yeah i agree, it'll all come together for the end. the way the characters are meeting in the sideways is not just a funny quirk, it'll all start to dovetail soon i'm sure.

we're basically seeing what happens when the show is over. but most likely i'm wrong.

if what we're seeing in the alt-timeline is smokey's work he seems a lot more inclined to make good stuff happen to people than jacob has ever been.

SO FAR he does. and only sort of...sayid's life isn't that good off island. is sun's? they could all deteriorate yet...we're only seeing the beginning.

yeah but locke being with helen etc...if it is after the island it would have to be "after" only in the sense that it's basically as if it was before and the island never happened

is there any chance jack is doing jacob style recruiting in the sideways? saves charlie's life, gives locke his card etc...

or maybe it's not what DOES happen after the island, it's what COULD happen after the island and the existence of this alternate reality will be revealed to everyone by either jacob or smokey and then they'll have to CHOOSE

haven't they been dropping a ton of clues that Jack's the one person in the flash-sideways who knows what's up, or at least kind of entered that reality from somewhere else and is kind of out of wack?

there was that 'moment' between jack and frackles at the airport in the alterna timeline, wasn't there? like a look of deja vu or something?

also Jack looking confused/dazed in the plane and generally not acting like he did in the Season 1 version of the same scene, and him having to ask his mom when he got his appendix scar, etc.

Also I think Locke kind of noticed something was up when Ben had his back dramatically posed to him before revealing himself, like maybe this was going to be a guy he's seen before.

i really don't see how it could be after the finale...like as i said, why would so many things have reset to pre-plane crash if it was a later date. what would be the point in after the finale being so set up as before the finale? they'd have to go "oh btw this is after" and explanations would be really dumb (not that they are beyond this)

yeah i dunno, i think it could work out that way somehow...all i know is that the flash-sidewayseses better be just the structure of the first handful of episodes like the time jumps last season, gonna be a fucking drag if they do these for the whole season and finally explain them in the finale when we all wanna hear about other/older mysteries.

Yeah the flash sideways needs to go somewhere soon or I'm gonna flip.

Don't think they're gonna take it that far - we just passed the 1/3rd mark for the season, and it seems like they're more aggressively tying the flashes together (though I wonder, if it's going to be a Ben flash, how Sayid and Jin will be involved or if that will just be put on hold).

Still waiting for the Arntz flash. poor guy gets no screen time.
