Hey Dan, I'm not actually authorized to do that, not being even 1/8 bro, myself. Don't cry.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:22 (twenty years ago)

Speaking of bros, who wants to get a beer after work? I need some quality Chicago time.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:22 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe that *I* was the one to make the GI Joe reference. SRSLY.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:22 (twenty years ago)

Eh? You're not here, are you?

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:23 (twenty years ago)

If only...[sigh]

I have a fashion question and I need a trustworthy opinion.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:24 (twenty years ago)

i'm definitely going out for a beer after work if anyone wants to come to the ukrainian village.

it's about hipwaders isn't it. sock it to me!

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:25 (twenty years ago)

We need to teleconference some beers with Laurel. Amanda, wear your outfit.

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:26 (twenty years ago)

It's about leather clothing. See, I have this skirt. It's suede, turquoise, short and buttons up the front. A-line (swingy, not tight) but short, about mid-thigh.

1) is it gauche to wear leather skirts? is it gross?
2) turquoise suede - gross?
3) the cut of the skirt is nice and it hangs well, but I am sort of afraid of wearing it out on account of some nasty looks I got the last time I wore it

Is it acceptable to wear a short, turquoise suede skirt that buttons up the front?

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:29 (twenty years ago)

I mean -- leather clothing: is it gross?

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:30 (twenty years ago)

I see nothing wrong with it. But then again, I am just one man. And one fashion unconscious man, at that.

The world needs more short skirts, as far as I can tell.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:30 (twenty years ago)

Better than leather pants.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:31 (twenty years ago)

wear it to the ukrainian village after work and i'll let you know. please get there before beer #3 or else judgement may be clouded.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:33 (twenty years ago)

You don't need to know how to pronounce their last names! All I was saying is that the first syllable of "Cuyahoga" is pronounced the same as the first name "Kai." You know, like as in, "From the Frank Stanton Studio in Los Angeles, I'm Kai Ryssdal, and this is Marketplace."

Can you like go back to Montreal or something?

"Cuyahoga's first syllable sounds just like the first name of this semi-obscure reporter's first name, and this even more obscure musician's first name--and I won't even mention what that name actually is."

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:34 (twenty years ago)

LOL.

...

Eazy, I think K. and I are going to see Waiting for Godot on Friday featuring your man B3au O'R3illy.

Do you have any idea what this description means?:

The play is being treated as a musical score and a "new play" to achieve what the playwright intended.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:35 (twenty years ago)

I don't think leather clothing is gross per se, but I guess it'd have more of a chance at being gross than, say, cotton.

Turquoise? Hmmm. I'm curious. I'd like to see pics.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:37 (twenty years ago)

i do not know what that means but i think i'm going to the music box this weekend for some 70s porn in 3-D!! yowza!

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:38 (twenty years ago)

I have not heard from the ladies on my skirt. Are you all appalled that I would own/wear a turquoise suede miniskirt? Sometimes I'm a little appalled myself, but I would like to know if I should expect derision from my peers if I wear this thing out in public again.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:38 (twenty years ago)

Not sure what the description means - I didn't know the show was going on until running into B. O'R and his son Colm on the street on Sunday - but I'd like to see what they do with the play.

Shine, shine, shiny skirt of leather.

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:39 (twenty years ago)

It looks like this, only more turquoise and less blue.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:41 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe that *I* was the one to make the GI Joe reference. SRSLY.

Psst you got it wrong, tho. It's CommandER, isn't it?

Skirt: leather is fine but it all depends on the styling and/or wardrobe accompaniments and I am intrigued by A-line with front closures! Also when in doubt whether skirt is too short, wear w/ opaque tights (cf my mini at the DC Snipers show w/ solid black tights under). True dat tights are less useful in summer but then leather isn't really a hot-weather material anyway. XP the one in picture is adowarble!

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:42 (twenty years ago)

my mini at the DC Snipers show

dc snipers!!! did you see them with live fast die by anychance?

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:43 (twenty years ago)

Psst you got it wrong, tho. It's CommandER, isn't it?

I wouldn't know! I just pick up random conversational bits and pieces from other American males of my generation.

but i think i'm going to the music box this weekend for some 70s porn in 3-D!! yowza!

Kelsey and I saw Hard Candy (3-D porn from 1975, not the new cybersex/castration flick) at the Music Box about five or six years ago. Not very erotic (well duh, it was sorta John Waters-style silliness) but also not very well made (I had to take the 3-D glasses off after a while because it was giving me a headache).

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:43 (twenty years ago)

oh, and ebay is blocked at work so i have no idea what it looks like. if you like it what does it matter?

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:44 (twenty years ago)

Ok, so I shouldn't expect to be shunned then, that's good. I wore crotcheted tights with mid-calf boots the last time I wore it, which was the first time I wore it. Thank you for the fashion advice.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:44 (twenty years ago)

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Last night? On the Red Train? A rummy-bum looking bag gentleman was pacing around on the train for a while until he squatted down at sat on the floor so that his head was on the same level as the legs of a girl in a skirt. Despite their being seats available, he just sat there, staring at her legs. She got uncomfortable and got up to stand at the other end of the train.

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Amanda, That skirt is cute. Also, your description of it sounded totally like something Jessica would wear in one of the Sweet Valley books (except it would be purple).

I would come drink in the Uke, but instead I am going out to drink with coworkers.

See above.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:56 (twenty years ago)

So I'm gonna ask again, does anyone wanna karaoke soon?

PLEEEEEEEASE?

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:57 (twenty years ago)

i think of it as a non-paying job. certainly putting in enough hours lately.

i got yelled at by a guy with no thumbs last night.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:57 (twenty years ago)

(Yes, K. Let's plan it. Oh, and I want to find a snippet of that Harrison song on Amazon or somewhere to jog my memory.)

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:59 (twenty years ago)

We are going here for drinks. These ladies aren't hip enough to hang in the Uke.

We could kareoke for Nick's bday? (it's May 15th, a Monday, when we have a show, but maybe we could do it the preceeding weekend, like Friday the 12th or Sat the 13th?)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:59 (twenty years ago)

I kind of look forward to the long pain in the balls public transport trip to Ikea. From my home it would be Foster CTA bus to Irving Park Blue Line. Blue Line to Rosemont and then Pace to Ikea. I think it would be a nice way to see tings in a different way.

xpost--karaoke = yes. also = advance warning.

also MAY 12 IS MY FUCKING BIRTHDAY! AND I WANNA GO TO RED LOBSTER!

Whispy Fandango Triphop (unclejessjess), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 20:02 (twenty years ago)
