depends how many people are seeding (if any). sometimes there'll just be one seeder and he'll go offline for days. it also depends on both of your connection/transfer speeds.

Alternately, if anyone would like to gmail me eps 2x02 through 2x12 or 13, that'd be groovy.

Goddammit why aren't the new Season 3 eps of Corner Gas available anywhere? Not even that dude in Yorkton with the lame encoding seems to be at it. Grrr.

isohunt/mininova still up, otherwise it's private trackers

MySp133n and Th3B0x are tops.

any suggestions for UK TV sites? UKnova kinda sucks - my main complaint is that they miss stuff all the time and the files are all in too-low resolutions. i'm after comedy and music/culture documentaries...

any suggestions for UK TV sites?
The aforementioned Th3B0x is terrific. Lots of documentaries turn up on mvgr0up too.
To be fair though, USENET binary traffic has been exploding now with some of the larger torrent sites going offline. I pretty much grab everything from there now.

who do you go through for access and how much do you pay?
― mikebee (BATTAGS), Wednesday, 23 September 2009 17:41 (fourteen years ago) link
both have open registration (b0x & mvr)
― picked up the sneer-slack (sciolism), Wednesday, 23 September 2009 23:38 (fourteen years ago) link
pls explain 'usenet binary traffic' for noob :(
― cozwn, Wednesday, 23 September 2009 23:53 (fourteen years ago) link
$16 a month for unlimited bandwidth from Supernews.

USENET = old school decentralized discussion forums. Home to the worst sort of spam and Internet trolling, but like a good cockroach a near-impossible protocol to kill. Check some of the other usenet posts here then search on NZB files.

― James Mitchell, Thursday, 26 November 2009 14:50 (fourteen years ago) link
yikes
no mininova, no demonoid... argh!
― Tracer Hand, Sunday, 6 December 2009 16:32 (fourteen years ago) link
does that leave pirate bay as the only somewhat comprehensive site left??
does waffles exist anymore?
― SKATAAAAAAAAAAA (webinar), Sunday, 6 December 2009 16:36 (fourteen years ago) link
I think I pretty much only use torrents to compensate for my lack of cable television these days. 3ztv.it for American TV, th3b0x.bz for British TV, my$pl33n.cc for comedy/animation. t0rr3ntz.com is the best search engine at the moment.
― Pooping And Crying (Deric W. Haircare), Sunday, 6 December 2009 17:18 (fourteen years ago) link
Yeah, I've switched over to Torrentz. DO waffles and what still exist? I still to this day haven't found a suitable OiNK replacement, other than slsk which I don't love.
And demonoid's not gone, apparently! It's just on a looooong hiatus.
