I perpetually failed in my attempts to rally and rewatch the entirety of this show between seasons, so I'm hoping (having seen every episode besides the pilot only once) that this is going to make any kind of satisfying sense by the time things have wrapped up. If the end isn't actively terrible, I'm really looking forward to trudging through the whole mess all over again.

So anyway, the Lighthouse presumably is how Ben got all that information about the 815 and Freighter dudes, albeit maybe through some Richard Alpert type mediating figure.

He had Alpert etc spying on people, they had a brief on them all. Ben never even saw Jacob, doubt he was at the Lighthouse.

I liked this ep actually, except I thought Jin was really irritating in it. Also Claire is not a good enough actor to play the evil character. Tho MOY BOYBEEEEE has now become a cold terse "MOY BOYBY".

And he got the lists from Richard/Jacob, that was just the list of names. There was a fairly extensive storyline about him tracking people in the real world.

on the plus side, this episode seemed to imply that claire might kill kate with an axe at some point, which is like a total win/win in my book

jin's explanation to claire why he was lying before but not lying now was pretty painful

I think/hope Jacob was lying. Last thing the show needs now is a new set of mysterious characters searching for the island.

Claire's hair... egads. What is it with TV shows with blonde characters named Claire and why do they uniformly have hideous wigs? The wig budget is no place to skimp, television show producers!!!!

If you'd been out in the wilderness for 3 years, your hair would probably look like a bad wig too.

Her alt-timeline wig was hideous, too, just in a different way. The hideousness of terrible wigs is not limited to jungle-munged rat's nests.

Lost does not have a good history with faux hair.

Dunno if that "you have to help someone come to the Island" line was Jacob just trying to get Jack and Hurley out of the way before Smokey ravages the temple or whatever.

The bit that made me really angry was Jack just getting up and leaving Sayid sitting in the temple surrounded by the dudes who are trying to kill him. Okay Sayid is pretty hard and he had Miles with him but Miles is only really useful after someone's been killed.

I'll actually be quite angry if Aaron doesn't turn out to be the Messiah Ghost Child or whatever given the amount of time they've spent on his frankly rubbish character so far.

Yeah that baby's a terrible fucking actor, too.

Maybe a freighter is coming with Aaron, Des & Penny, Widmore, Ms. Hawking, Sun's dad & daughter, Walt, Kate's horse, Jack's ex-wife, Charlie's brother & Cheech on board.

the ONLY interesting thing in the LA timeline in this ep was jack's scars.

the writing ahs never been a++, but i can remember two stupid howlers. jack is going to his moms to look for dad's will. he tells his son he'll be back in an hour. no you won't! you're driving there! why not take your son? it is his access visit. (wonder if mom is juliet or... idk some1.) and then when jack gets there mom says: IT'S LIKE LOOKING FOR A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK. i suppose we do all use cliches but come on, make an effort.

He's always just been a device as far as I can tell--no claims have been made about him being special, certainly not like the build-up we got for Walt. I don't think they ever knew where they were going w/ "He cannot be raised by anOTHER!" Probably will end up meaning that Claire never should have left him behind to follow Christian.

Jack had his appendix taken out on the island in season 4. Alt-Jack having it taken out when he was 7 must have been a change that happened pretty soon after the 1977 explosion. How old is Jack anyway?

Jack was born around 65 iirc. It's fuzzy logic, but I read someones observations that at the time of the 1977 bomb, jack's appendix scar was about three years old, which would place the surgery (linearlyish) in 74 which corresponds roughly with his mom saying he was "7 or 8."

lolstpedia says dec 3 1969. so it would be very soon after the bomb.
