Noticed that Locke's name was already crossed off on the wheel, but not in the cave (until MIB did it.)

Also the randomness of the writing on the cave walls. With that many names how can you remember easily where they all are. Just get a pen and pad ffs.

I thought it was gonna be one of Ben's papier mache dolls in Claire's crib but no, it was spooky animal skull shit.
This season really feels like ppl just wandering around doing stuff when someone tells them to, maybe seeing a dead guy, maybe not. I'm not getting any sense of DREAD or DANGER like in previous seasons (e.g. from Keamy, Ben, freighters, Others, Juliet). I guess the samurai guy could go torture some more people but I'm not feeling it.

Perhaps one sweet day Jacob will explain how the hell Hurley can be a candidate for a role that probably requires you to order people to do bad stuff to keep an island protected. Whether you've killed anyone before (off or on the island, which Claire now has) doesn't seem to matter - was gonna say I don't think Hurley has blood on his hands here but then I remembered he ran over an Other with the Dharma van...so that just leaves Rose, Bernard and Waaaalt i think.

I caught last few minutes of the replay of the Substitute with the dumb pop-ups. The last one was "Sawyer is Locke's first recruit." Really? I figured their alliance would last about ten minutes.

Also, it seems like Claire is his first recruit.

Also, Jacob's job involves traveling around the world and speaking perfect Korean when he has to. I don't see any of the candidates as being particularly adaptable.

"Austen" was number 51 on the wheel thing, and not crossed out.

Jacob says to turn the wheel to 108. "Wallace" is crossed out at 108 (and of course 108=4+8+15+23+42), but we don't know who "Wallace" is yet. Maybe the man in black before he died?

Linus is crossed out at 117.

Of course if you add 51 to 108, you get 159.

Jack is a massive dick but I laughed at how predictable him smashing everything up was. I actually quite like axe murderer Claire though.

I quite enjoyed this, in a 'this is dumb shit but at least it's not the Kate episode' way. At least we got lots of Hurley.

Thought the most significant thing in the Alt-Timeline was Jack seemingly not being able to remember anything that had happened in his past - appendix scar, kid playing piano, etc. Maybe that second one was just Jack being a self-involved dick though.

I'm also wondering if it connects to the giant pendulum thing that the Dharma people used to find the Island. Although that may be just because they're both big stupid Da Vinci Code type machines.

i don't think Ben knows about the lighthouse, or if the lighthouse is even real tbh. Ben had to get Ethan and Goodwin to get 815 people's names remember, and had people out in the real world info-gathering.

But Ben was also getting lists supposedly from Jacob, he said that much before he killed him. They might have been from MIB I suppose but they appear to be the same names.

I perpetually failed in my attempts to rally and rewatch the entirety of this show between seasons, so I'm hoping (having seen every episode besides the pilot only once) that this is going to make any kind of satisfying sense by the time things have wrapped up. If the end isn't actively terrible, I'm really looking forward to trudging through the whole mess all over again.

He had Alpert etc spying on people, they had a brief on them all. Ben never even saw Jacob, doubt he was at the Lighthouse.

I liked this ep actually, except I thought Jin was really irritating in it. Also Claire is not a good enough actor to play the evil character. Tho MOY BOYBEEEEE has now become a cold terse "MOY BOYBY".

And he got the lists from Richard/Jacob, that was just the list of names. There was a fairly extensive storyline about him tracking people in the real world.

on the plus side, this episode seemed to imply that claire might kill kate with an axe at some point, which is like a total win/win in my book
