19, and yeah, this is a poor indicator. that said, i am a bit taller than 5'8", and used to have a BMI of around 33 (at the beginning of high school). i'm a short, relatively small-boned guy, and those pounds looked awful on me.

I spent year between 18 and 21, so now I'm 27 I feel a little depressed. I'm not at all fat, I've just gotten a weird drinker's gut I think, heh :/ Plus being short seems to really skew these things. My ex is a 16.

look at that blubber fly. muscle mass plays havoc with bmi accuracy.i'm about 19 too, none of that pesky muscle to bother me. i'm sure i was perfectly healthy when i was around the 18 mark, though. but i guess that diet of chocolate and crisps w/ dip has done wonders for me.― Merdeyeux, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 19:12 (1 year ago) Permalink

Move over BMI, there's a new sheriff in town:
BMI or Body Mass Index, a ratio of weight to height, has long been considered one of the best measures for assessing overall health risk.Getting your BMI into a healthy range used to be considered a top health priority. However, recent research shows that there is a new sheriff in town: your waist-to-height ratio (WHtR). Studies now indicate that WHtR is a much better measure than BMI for assessing obesity and cardiovascular risk.

This is great because I go from "Overweight" on the BMI scale to "Extremely Slim" on the WHtR scale.
No longer am I penalized for being athletic.
