Has anyone noticed the posters for the upcoming movie, Why Did I Get Married? I'm sensing a theme (see also: (I Think) I love my Wife).
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:28 (eighteen years ago)
Nick, how do you refer to me when talking to, say, folks at work? Just by name?
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:29 (eighteen years ago)
"that bitch I married"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:30 (eighteen years ago)
I kid, of course.
I'm a bitch, I'm a mother, I'm a child, I'm a lover, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint...!
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)
Usually I just say your name, if it's someone I don't know as well I might say "my wife" but it is weird.
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:34 (eighteen years ago)
There should be a hipper term for "wife."
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:35 (eighteen years ago)
I realized that in class last week I kept referring to Leaf as "my husband" and after maybe the third time doing that, I just blurted out, "His name is Leaf & I will call him Leaf hence forth!"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:36 (eighteen years ago)
ha ha
N- Wifey?
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:36 (eighteen years ago)
Try saying that with a straight face though.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:37 (eighteen years ago)
"wifey mcdingus"
(some friends of mine use this term to refer to long-term girlfriends, usually)
― Jordan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:38 (eighteen years ago)
Wife sounds fine to me, even if it's kinda heavy; it implies a lot, but so did you by marrying her.
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:38 (eighteen years ago)
wife4life
― dan m, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:39 (eighteen years ago)
Things I don't like: "hubby", Jo-Ann Fabrics, jellybeans
xpost, ha
― Jordan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:39 (eighteen years ago)
Call her "the Love I am betrothed to."
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:39 (eighteen years ago)
Or, "My Soul, My Life."
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:40 (eighteen years ago)
or call her sarah.
"my old lady"
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:40 (eighteen years ago)
You know what really wouldn't be cheesy and annoying? If married people called each other their SOUL-MATE all the time. That would be great!
― dan m, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)
How about just "mate"
― Jordan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)
ol' girl
In private Leaf & I call each other "lover" or "my sweet lover" or something equally gag-worthy.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)
I just discovered that the college improv group I was in has a video on YouTube, featuring current members. I feel like Jon Lovitz to their Andy Samberg.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:43 (eighteen years ago)
sometimes i feel like Buster saying that, though. I know he said, "Hey Brother!" but you can see how easy it would be to substitute "Hey Lover!"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:43 (eighteen years ago)
ha!
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:44 (eighteen years ago)
Mate sounds like a sailor... which sounds sexy.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)
I'll just say, Hey, Sailor.
What I mean by discovering forgotten corners of my iTunes library: I am listening to this for the first time this morning. It is remarkable.
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)
Sylvia . . Yes Mickey . . How do you call your lover boy . . Come here Lover Boy . . . and if he doesn't answer . . Oh lover Boy . .and if he still doesn't answer . . I simply say . . Baby, Oh Baby, my sweet baby, your the one Baby, Oh Baby, my sweet baby, your the one
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:48 (eighteen years ago)
wow. that video kinda takes me back, as they say.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:49 (eighteen years ago)
Are you watching it? I had to stop after a minute because I was afraid I'd get too embarrassed.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)
Like, did I look that stupid, too?

I don't know. I'm partial b/c I have such fond memories of it & they just seem so young . . . like we were all those years ago. all in all, the video was not great.
Plus, I feel like I spotted like, 3 new colin characters.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:53 (eighteen years ago)
j - any feedback on the mp3 i sent you?
There is some weird shit on youtube if you search my last name. None of it has anything to do with me.
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:55 (eighteen years ago)
wow. that just made me worried about my brother having videos on you tube. he doesn't.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:00 (eighteen years ago)
I liked it, Kels! Some great sounds.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)
Sarah I found some footage of some terrible bands playing at meridian coffeehouse but it's really dark and you can't see anything.
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)
Nick, it looks like there are two videos. I was watching the first one.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:02 (eighteen years ago)
Can I tell you what they were?
1. walking on stones (some looped) 2. walking on pavement 3. leaves being torn 4. leaf eating a carrot
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:02 (eighteen years ago)
It kind of blows my mind that people I know started that improv troupe (Matt P. came up with the name) and now there are kids 14 years younger than them who are in it, who have no connection with that original cast.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)
I liked the looping effects.
We should organize a giant get-together through the ages.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:07 (eighteen years ago)
I think there was talk a couple years ago about doing a reunion show at Homecoming.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:08 (eighteen years ago)
Actually, in that second video, someone is using a cell phone and is scrolling through their address book and L1za B1elby is in it.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:10 (eighteen years ago)
i didn't watch that one!
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:13 (eighteen years ago)
i don't mind saying 'my husband' even though it still feels weird, but i really hated saying 'my fiance' and pretty much called him my boyfriend or if forced to say 'my fiance' would do it in a jokey way.
why does firefox spelling thing correct 'fiance'? they want toby to be a girl!
― colette, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 16:13 (eighteen years ago)
I had to stop after a minute because I was afraid I'd get too embarrassed.
nah. They look like they're having fun!
