thought it was aaron...1. he looked just like claire and 2. they made such a point last week to remind us who aaron is. not sure why he would be whatever age he appeared to not-locke and sawyer though.

did anyone catch some of those other names on the walls? i saw but didn't recognize: mattingly, o'toole, rourke, martin...i bet these are people who were on the black rock. also, littleton (as in, claire) was crossed out!

yeah I think she died when the rocket or grenade or whatever hit her house, was just zombified after that.

or maybe she is just no longer a candidate

yeah hated this, eats up valuable seconds! the 'previously' recaps are bad enough.

Can't believe they still put that thing saying 'L O S T' up there as well. Like, we all know what it's called!

yeah was dire...those jacob scenes were like two eps ago!

Just imagining if they did this every time a previous episode was referenced...

re the scene where f locke trips, falls flat, and looks up to see the back of the boy's feet - correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the cinematography here is mimicking a similar scene from season one (which i mentioned upthread) where jack is chasing christian through the jungle.

also, the bloody image of the boy threw me off a bit because, back in the day, the blood imagery was used to represent the island giving spiritual guidance to people, ie locke and eko. except back then we thought there was one island and one faction representing the island's interests, smoke monster included.

based on the plot description for next week and the likelihood of it being a jack's episode... i'm not overly enthusiastic.

please no plot descriptions!

any joe frank fans in here? there was a bit where flocke talking to james almost mimicked exactly a bit from joe frank's take on the joseph story. the part where he goes (and i misquote) if you were my son, i would never have allowed this to happen; i would pull you off that cross so fast etc....

Not so much Locke, but Ben Linus is a walking Joe Frank monologue, and everyone's backstory was pilfered from This American Life segments.

Why does Kwon have to be Sun or Jin, when they have a kid who is conveniently not even on the island?

MIB said in last ep he had no idea whether Kwon referred to Jin, Sun, or child

Not that the writers have never broken a convention they set up, but the flashback they pulled to illustrate the ambiguity showed Jacob touching Jin & Sun, and without some kind of additional ovarian massage scene, that sort of rules out the kid.

But he went and touched Kate too and she's not included.

No. And I thought Ethan was designated Other ovarian massager.

has anyone, like me, watched the premiere episodes a second time? once you've gotten over the initial novelty of 'new lost!'... they are exceedingly tiresome to watch.

i did notice that hurley is clean shaven when coming back from sydney, despite having huge sideburns at locke's firing a few days later. alt timeline hurley is evidently some kind of wolfman.

also sun seems to get detained at airports a lot.

Hurley is a hairy guy. I reckon he could grow them pretty quickly.

Always thought the original Jin and Sun backstory was one of the best, and they've kind of wasted it as a plot point, especially her evil megalomaniac dad. I hope that comes back into play rather than the endless yearning and confused faces they seem confined to these days. That said I don't see the baby being a big deal, the Island and the scriptwriters don't seem remotely interested in it.

Hah ha ha, yeah, so true - Sun's possibly the most wasted character on the show

It's sad because it seemed like around S4 we'd see a changed, evolved or more evil Sun during the Oceanic 6 storyline, but not much has really come of it. A really wasted opportunity here.

She is a human reaction shot.

If I was the actress I'd be kind of embarrassed to be there at this point ... 'have you seen my husband? oh, he's dead in the past? ok. what, you can take me to him? ok. whatever you say, i have no initiative even though my backstory is replete with references to me standing up for myself'
