naw, I dug it!

Nhex, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 11:46 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i enjoyed this. this things that are bad just make me lol now.
love these idiotic characters walking around following their ridiculous impulses!

david cam'ron (tpp), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 11:47 (sixteen years ago)

really wondering whether this alternate timeline is actually going anywhere

i kno its L O S T but the idea two alternate universes 'converging' makes NO SENSE to me and i'm male n' all

david cam'ron (tpp), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 11:50 (sixteen years ago)

As an Other, he also appears to hold different ideals than John Lennon, not really minding when ordered to kill a group of wandering strangers.

looooooooool

ha yeah me neither tbh but i'm just rolling with it. Just going by this episode, I imagine everything that happened on the island that can happen off-island will happen ("whatever happens, happens" rule?) even though it's totally crazy because it means at some point, michael will kill libby and ana-lucia all over again, or maybe ben goes into jack's hospital and jack ends up fixing him, and somehow they'll all end up on the island?

i'm probably reading this whole thing wrongly, i dunno.

Roz, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:05 (sixteen years ago)

apparently they have people read the scripts and rate them? and this one was the lowest rated? so that's good.

international slackness (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:05 (sixteen years ago)

"i'm jacking this cab, gimme your purse! i'm keeping the luggage!"
"hayyy-ayy, sorry bout that, here's your luggage back and junk. need a ride, pregnant lady i just cabjacked and stole from?"
"sure, i'll accompany you on a journey of discovery and wonder and childbirth!"

international slackness (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:06 (sixteen years ago)

IT WAS SO BAD. i mean, the kate parts.

international slackness (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:07 (sixteen years ago)

ahhahahaha its midday and i've watched lost so now life feels pointless.
wish someone would run off so i could go and get them back.

david cam'ron (tpp), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:08 (sixteen years ago)

it's totally crazy because it means at some point, michael will kill libby and ana-lucia all over again

something like this could be cool but what determines whether an event was important enough for it to happen in both timelines?
will hurley beat sawyer at table tennis? will nikki and paulo be buried alive? will kate go for a bite to eat and see the horse again?

david cam'ron (tpp), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:16 (sixteen years ago)

maybe somehow they will end up on the island and by some weird time jumping shit it all loops round to the very first episode

david cam'ron (tpp), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:18 (sixteen years ago)

yeah really this sucked. why the fuck would Claire accept the ride from Kate? one of just too many stupid things. was hoping that with 16 episodes of a final season left they'd avoid something this aimless. the dragging out of Jack/John&Yoko/Sayid stuff was also frustrating. Jack asking what the baseball was...wish Dogen had just said OH FUCK OFF.

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:20 (sixteen years ago)

Dr. Ethan Goodspeed

This struck me as weird when he said it, since his name on the island was "Ethan Rom" and "Goodspeed" was Horace's last name.

El Poopo Loco (Pancakes Hackman), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:22 (sixteen years ago)

yeah but he's Horace's stepson iirc. so presumably he was born on the island still and left on the sub just before the bomb.

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:24 (sixteen years ago)

one of the clips from next week showed Sawyer meeting Fake Locke, so I'm glad that they're bringing those 2 groups/storylines together sooner than later.

Busty Oralizer (some dude), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 12:59 (sixteen years ago)

why the fuck would Claire accept the ride from Kate?

the question isn't why claire would accept the ride from kate, because that can be explained through some kind of intuition that she felt she already knew kate some how.

the question is why the fuck was claire still standing in the same spot, in what must have been AT LEAST 30-45 minutes later. she had to have her handcuffs taken off, then cry about her life, then go through claire's belongings to find stuff, then cry more...

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:11 (sixteen years ago)

yeah that part confused me, i think i missed something after a commercial break before that so i wasn't sure if there'd been some scene where Kate found Claire's phone number in her purse or something and called her to meet or something.

some dude, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:18 (sixteen years ago)

I didn't think that was too far-fetched - Claire was waiting for a bus right? I could see her trying to get a cab or something but being unable to since she didn't have any money on her and it's not like she knew her way around or anything. the stupid thing was her going with Kate after that, wtf.

Roz, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:25 (sixteen years ago)

because that can be explained through some kind of intuition that she felt she already knew kate some how.

uh, really? not even "please leave me alone, insane woman with gun"?

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:27 (sixteen years ago)

uh, yeah? it's what the writers are trying to do with these characters. jack/desmond, and now claire calling the BAY-BE aaron.

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:29 (sixteen years ago)

yeah but he's Horace's stepson iirc. so presumably he was born on the island still and left on the sub just before the bomb.

was young Ben on this sub? I don't really remember.

Kinda looking forward to maybe seeing alternate timeline Ben, I'm wondering what someone like him would be doing in the real world

peter in montreal, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:30 (sixteen years ago)

i think the worst bit was after after that... the whole "would you come in with me?" part. "Would you please follow me, gun-toting thief chick into this stranger who is going to adopt my baby's house?" xp

Roz, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:32 (sixteen years ago)

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:39 (sixteen years ago)

DamonLindelof For those of you complaining of "filler." Seriously. PLEASE WATCH NCIS: LOS ANGELES. I promise not to hold it against you. about 11 hours ago from web

lol ok lindelof

Roz, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 13:53 (sixteen years ago)

haha! people just HATE it when the plot slows down

Nhex, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:02 (sixteen years ago)

dumb episode, further proof that kate episodes are fuckin worthless

max, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:02 (sixteen years ago)

Kate's funniest lines: "You'd better not slow ME down!" and the VERY CONVINCING "I can be very convincing when I wanna be"

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:06 (sixteen years ago)

yeah it was a weak episode but at least Mac was back

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:08 (sixteen years ago)

also the dude traveling with mac was an IDIOT

max, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:09 (sixteen years ago)

I love that they bring back Mac, after three seasons ago from a tiny part, have him complain to another character about those events, and then shoot him in the head at the end of the episode. Classic Lost!

Nhex, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:11 (sixteen years ago)

he's the Others' Frogurt.

has kate even mentioned to sawyer that she's met his daughter? I mean the guy is about to go jump off a cliff, would think that she could at least remind him that he's still got a bit more to live for. stupid selfish kate "whaaa come help me look for claire."

Roz, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:12 (sixteen years ago)

Kate's funniest lines: "You'd better not slow ME down!"

Haha, I turned to my wife and said, "No, YOU'RE a jerk!"

El Poopo Loco (Pancakes Hackman), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:14 (sixteen years ago)

Sayid sounded more British after being infected.

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 14:17 (sixteen years ago)

dumb episode, further proof that kate episodes are fuckin worthless

FINAL proof! there can be no further argument.

international slackness (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:00 (sixteen years ago)

we should all celebrate, surely we have seen THE LAST KATE-CENTRIC EPISODE, EVER?

Except she hasn't been re-arrested/had her name cleared off-island so we still probably have to suffer a bit more.

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:07 (sixteen years ago)

Maybe we learn that in the alternate reality, all the 815ers die gruesome deaths and getting stuck on the island was the best possible scenario

mh, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:11 (sixteen years ago)

Final Destination XVII: L O S T

Roz, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:16 (sixteen years ago)

do we know if kate is actually guilty in the alternate reality?

david cam'ron (tpp), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:19 (sixteen years ago)

There was a video released at ComicCon that I think is linked upthread somewhere showing her on America's Most Wanted, because she rigged her dad's workplace to blow up, and his coworker got to work first that day? Anyone remember if Kate ever said she was innocent before, or was her conversation with Claire the first time we see her say that?

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:21 (sixteen years ago)

She didn't say she was innocent. She said "What would you say if I told you I was innocent?"

WmC, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:28 (sixteen years ago)

Ah, fair enough. Did she say that before?

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:38 (sixteen years ago)

"What would you say if I told you I was innocent?"

more clunky dialogue ugh

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:41 (sixteen years ago)

my brain hurts trying to work out all the timelines/characters now that it's all coming together. next episode looks good. the last time Sawyer saw Locke was when he jumped down the well to stop the time-jumps, right?

and I'm trying to work out Ben's relationship to Dogen and the Temple Others, esp since the 815 kids are there. former Leader? still Leader? its hard to remember Badass Ben now that he's FLocke's lil biatch

Fahrvergnügent (herb albert), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:47 (sixteen years ago)

I don't think Ben's Others and Dogen's Others are the same group...?

WmC, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:49 (sixteen years ago)

I mean, never were...? I dunno.

WmC, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:49 (sixteen years ago)

theres gotta be some relationship, since aldo is in both

max, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:54 (sixteen years ago)

they must have had some overlap. but it does seem like no way could all of these people have fitted into Otherville (and i'm guessing Dogen never spent any time there shooting pool with Goodwin or whatever).

mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:56 (sixteen years ago)

they are all one group, Ben told Alex, Rousseau and Karl to go to the temple, in the episode Karl & Rousseau bit the big ones..

also from lostpedia:
In "Left Behind" the Others abandoned The Barracks, traveling across the Island on foot to The Temple. In "The Brig" Ben tells Locke that they are "going to a new place. Well an old place actually". This is the first mention of the temple. At the conclusion of Season 3, Ben asked Richard to continue to take the rest of the group to the Temple while he and Alex attempted to intercept the survivors before their arrival at the radio tower. ("Through the Looking Glass")

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 10 February 2010 16:59 (sixteen years ago)

the absurdity of characters making wholly irrational decisions just because they 'sense a connection,' eg claire befriending the crazy gun wielding convict, makes me a little uneasy. i know its lost, but the alt reality, at least it was portrayed in this ep, seems a little too surreal and far fetched for me to swallow.

phantompenguin, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 17:28 (sixteen years ago)

you mean claire the girl who shacked up with and trusted her newborn with a recovering junkie?

some dude, Wednesday, 10 February 2010 17:29 (sixteen years ago)
