ha yeah me neither tbh but i'm just rolling with it. Just going by this episode, I imagine everything that happened on the island that can happen off-island will happen ("whatever happens, happens" rule?) even though it's totally crazy because it means at some point, michael will kill libby and ana-lucia all over again, or maybe ben goes into jack's hospital and jack ends up fixing him, and somehow they'll all end up on the island?

i'm probably reading this whole thing wrongly, i dunno.

apparently they have people read the scripts and rate them? and this one was the lowest rated? so that's good.

something like this could be cool but what determines whether an event was important enough for it to happen in both timelines?
will hurley beat sawyer at table tennis? will nikki and paulo be buried alive? will kate go for a bite to eat and see the horse again?

maybe somehow they will end up on the island and by some weird time jumping shit it all loops round to the very first episode

yeah really this sucked. why the fuck would Claire accept the ride from Kate? one of just too many stupid things. was hoping that with 16 episodes of a final season left they'd avoid something this aimless. the dragging out of Jack/John&Yoko/Sayid stuff was also frustrating. Jack asking what the baseball was...wish Dogen had just said OH FUCK OFF.

Dr. Ethan Goodspeed

This struck me as weird when he said it, since his name on the island was "Ethan Rom" and "Goodspeed" was Horace's last name.

yeah but he's Horace's stepson iirc. so presumably he was born on the island still and left on the sub just before the bomb.

one of the clips from next week showed Sawyer meeting Fake Locke, so I'm glad that they're bringing those 2 groups/storylines together sooner than later.

the question isn't why claire would accept the ride from kate, because that can be explained through some kind of intuition that she felt she already knew kate some how.

the question is why the fuck was claire still standing in the same spot, in what must have been AT LEAST 30-45 minutes later. she had to have her handcuffs taken off, then cry about her life, then go through claire's belongings to find stuff, then cry more...

yeah that part confused me, i think i missed something after a commercial break before that so i wasn't sure if there'd been some scene where Kate found Claire's phone number in her purse or something and called her to meet or something.

I didn't think that was too far-fetched - Claire was waiting for a bus right? I could see her trying to get a cab or something but being unable to since she didn't have any money on her and it's not like she knew her way around or anything. the stupid thing was her going with Kate after that, wtf.

i think the worst bit was after after that... the whole "would you come in with me?" part. "Would you please follow me, gun-toting thief chick into this stranger who is going to adopt my baby's house?" xp

I love that they bring back Mac, after three seasons ago from a tiny part, have him complain to another character about those events, and then shoot him in the head at the end of the episode. Classic Lost!

Except she hasn't been re-arrested/had her name cleared off-island so we still probably have to suffer a bit more.

Maybe we learn that in the alternate reality, all the 815ers die gruesome deaths and getting stuck on the island was the best possible scenario

There was a video released at ComicCon that I think is linked upthread somewhere showing her on America's Most Wanted, because she rigged her dad's workplace to blow up, and his coworker got to work first that day? Anyone remember if Kate ever said she was innocent before, or was her conversation with Claire the first time we see her say that?

She didn't say she was innocent. She said "What would you say if I told you I was innocent?"

my brain hurts trying to work out all the timelines/characters now that it's all coming together. next episode looks good. the last time Sawyer saw Locke was when he jumped down the well to stop the time-jumps, right?

and I'm trying to work out Ben's relationship to Dogen and the Temple Others, esp since the 815 kids are there. former Leader? still Leader? its hard to remember Badass Ben now that he's FLocke's lil biatch

they must have had some overlap. but it does seem like no way could all of these people have fitted into Otherville (and i'm guessing Dogen never spent any time there shooting pool with Goodwin or whatever).

they are all one group, Ben told Alex, Rousseau and Karl to go to the temple, in the episode Karl & Rousseau bit the big ones..

the absurdity of characters making wholly irrational decisions just because they 'sense a connection,' eg claire befriending the crazy gun wielding convict, makes me a little uneasy. i know its lost, but the alt reality, at least it was portrayed in this ep, seems a little too surreal and far fetched for me to swallow.
