Part of me wondered if this sketch was in any way inspired by having Them Crooked Vultures as musical guest.

I laughed like hell at it, partly because of the level of detail, but I really don't think the joke would be lost on people who knew nothing about hardcore.

good heads up by ashton wrt grohl's mic, too. i'd like to see a rehearsal version of this whole thing; maybe the lyrics are more audible.

i second-guessed it later, but totally assumed at first that this was an intentional acknowledgement of faulty mics at live hardcore shows

ok maybe not old lesbian, but his usual goatee has a lot to do with that. and it's not like the Foo Fighters are that much better than HBO Original Movies at this point

yeah grohl is way better than bacon, but in terms of the six degrees thing i bet you could totally do that with him

she's not old! he also doesn't look like her. he's just way less gross than kevin bacon and i will defend dave grohl as long as i need to.

Also, Armisen didn't really go all in. Imagine if Farley or Belushi had that role.

i think armisen's look is part of what made it so funny, though. farley or belushi as fat screaming dad yeah ha, but a guy who looks like a totally straight-laced uptight father of the bride type unleashing that was awesome.

i mean, i'm just saying he barely unleashed. Farley and Belushi unleashed more in their Meat Loaf and Joe Cocker bits that Armison as L.A. hardcore punk dad

there isn't a real "energy guy" on SNL right now.
