I think the best thing P&R did in its second season was make Leslie less like Michael Scott. Not that she can't be awkward, but she's not criminally inept.

The scene with Andy's Squirrel/Backpack line might be my favorite of the season so far, especially because it seems April can barely keep a straight face while he is saying it.
― Michael F Gill, Friday, 29 January 2010 03:26 (sixteen years ago)
a bit weirded out about april and andy's budding love...how old is April supposed to be?
― dan selzer, Friday, 29 January 2010 06:29 (sixteen years ago)
she's just finished college; internship's over. I always thought andy seemed to young for quincy jones jr.
― forksclovetofu, Friday, 29 January 2010 06:37 (sixteen years ago)
I thought she was a high school student with a summer job or something!
― dan selzer, Friday, 29 January 2010 06:45 (sixteen years ago)
April got busted for underage drinking last season, so she's probably 19-20.

Yeah, she does seem too young for him, but it slightly balances out by him being an idiot. In real life, though, the actors are only five years apart.
― Nhex, Friday, 29 January 2010 08:31 (sixteen years ago)
@KenTremendous Parks and Recreation, a TV show I work for, got picked up for Season 3 today. Thanks to everyone who watches and supports us. Good times!

also loved when aziz was shooting like a gangsta (he also killed on one of the late shows about a month ago)

The ghost of DJ Roomba following Jerry playing Black Eyed Peas on a loop was rad.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 5 February 2010 02:02 (sixteen years ago)
agreed
― Mordy, Friday, 5 February 2010 02:03 (sixteen years ago)
i think it's great that you grandparents still make love

I like the focus on vests as healthy wholesome family apparel.

is poehler even in this show anymore? i feel like every episode i see she's in it less.
― Robert Altbro (some dude), Sunday, 7 February 2010 17:38 (sixteen years ago)
The last few episodes have had A-stories pretty prominently about her (Christmas scandal, hooking up with Will Arnett and then Justin Thoreau w/the diner party). But maybe the B-stories have gotten a lot of time, more than these shows usually give?
― Nhex, Sunday, 7 February 2010 20:42 (sixteen years ago)
I think midseason is when they focus on the B stories, and the A story is usually ramped up at the beginning and end of a season.
― Your body is a spiderland (polyphonic), Sunday, 7 February 2010 20:58 (sixteen years ago)
Ron Swanson is secretly the lead character, I think.
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 7 February 2010 21:34 (sixteen years ago)
Andy's band actually being pretty good at playing for old people is a wonderful development.
― maciej recognizing trill, Friday, 12 February 2010 01:58 (sixteen years ago)
tbh i think i cld watch a whole show of rashida jones playfully/politely receiving gifts
― johnny crunch, Friday, 12 February 2010 02:22 (sixteen years ago)
i don't want a lot more plot-only episodes but every once in awhile it's good to shake up the status quothis is light years ahead of the office now btw

This show's still doing well! So Rob Lowe and Adam Scott are joining the cast next season... wonder if that means any cast members are going to be "re-tooled" out of the show? Paul Schneider seems like an obvious drop...
― Nhex, Saturday, 6 March 2010 07:56 (sixteen years ago)
Rob Lowe? Could be good, but my immediate reaction is NOOOOOOOO
― Johnny Fever, Saturday, 6 March 2010 08:25 (sixteen years ago)
(Would completely endorse Megan Mullally joining the cast, though.)
― Johnny Fever, Saturday, 6 March 2010 08:26 (sixteen years ago)

good.
Paul Schneider seems like an obvious drop...
indeed. so does amy poehler but i guess that won't happen.
― the archetypal ghetto hustler (history mayne), Saturday, 6 March 2010 10:35 (sixteen years ago)
I think Lowe might be interesting. I can imagining him playing something like his character in Wayne's World.
― Michael F Gill, Saturday, 6 March 2010 15:35 (sixteen years ago)
I hope he's mayor.

Amy is preggers and here we go with awkward plant placement etc
― Freddy 'The Wonder Chicken' (Gukbe), Wednesday, 17 March 2010 19:32 (sixteen years ago)
Paul Schneider got officially dropped for next season (seems like a mutual agreement), might come back for guest spots. Natalie Morales (aka chick from The Middleman) signed on for an arc.
HIMYM definitely had the best "yes, both of our lead actresses are pregnant, let's just come up with ridiculous stuff to 'hide' the pregnancies" run
― Nhex, Wednesday, 17 March 2010 20:19 (sixteen years ago)
speaking of the intro, i've watched a few episodes on demand, and they have a twice-as-long intro that is totally awesome.
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 17 March 2010 21:42 (sixteen years ago)
i.e. the second half of the song is great.

― forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 17 March 2010 22:10 (sixteen years ago)
Bummer that Schneider is leaving, but he has definitely had a reduced presence as the season has gone on...mostly just plays straightman.
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Wednesday, 17 March 2010 22:12 (sixteen years ago)
I hope this doesn't develop into a cornball Andy/Anne/April love triangle if he leaves. With Anne single, it has that possibility. I like that story the way it is now.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 17 March 2010 22:16 (sixteen years ago)
Agreed. This has now risen to my favorite comedy currently on. Even though the last two have been only pretty good, there's still plenty of good stuff per episode....for example, "The Swanson Code"
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Wednesday, 17 March 2010 22:20 (sixteen years ago)
I call it the wormlog!
― Mordy, Friday, 19 March 2010 00:50 (sixteen years ago)
also, the terrible triangle is clearly gonna happen; what a disaster for parks and rec
― forksclovetofu, Friday, 19 March 2010 05:22 (sixteen years ago)
dammit. i really don't want to see that either. ah well, at least this episode was really amusing, just cuz it was an entire episode of ragging on Jerry
