I don't want to think about how much those will cost relative to a 500.00 MSRP :\

Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:23 (sixteen years ago)

lol @ engadget: 11:22AM Jonny Ive talking about magical devices. "That's exactly what the iPad is." Magical? Really? Doesn't seem that magical to us!

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:24 (sixteen years ago)

yeah don't care about 3g

keyboard dock is dumb. would rather have a keyboard with a cable/wireless so i can put it where i want

his power told him (about the fish) (gbx), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:24 (sixteen years ago)

Jon Ive says “there’s no wrong or right way to hold it.” “I don’t have to change myself to fit the product, it fits me.”

"So I can be, say, retarded, or have a balance disorder and STILL want this product!"

Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:25 (sixteen years ago)

it just works, dude

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:25 (sixteen years ago)

i buy so many things that don't work, and then what

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:26 (sixteen years ago)

it's doable

take me to your lemur (ledge), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:26 (sixteen years ago)

There is an Etch a Sketch app, yes?

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:26 (sixteen years ago)

is there going to be any way to read pix off a camera on this? Means not taking a laptop while travelling, that.

also wtf multitasking already

stet, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:27 (sixteen years ago)

have they confirmed a camera on this yet?

Deluxe Merseybeat Wig (Jack Battery-Pack), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

no multitasking, no camera

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

anyway this is all well and good but the important thing is that steve jobs just saved journalism forever

max, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

ouch.... then this is pretty limiting...

Deluxe Merseybeat Wig (Jack Battery-Pack), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:28 (sixteen years ago)

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:30 (sixteen years ago)

Ha ha. I had no idea about this iPad thing at all and apparently finally decided to open this thread right as the announcement was happening.

no one needs to have all of their fiction books around all the time, but man REFERENCES. SO MANY REFERENCES

Word to this. Got a Reader for Christmas and was pretty unsure of what to do with it (all of the fiction stuff I've found/bought thus far was laid out like some shit, but ultimately decided that e-readers make fantastic portable reference libraries.

iPad is the worst brand name since Aciphex.

ô_o (Nicole), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:30 (sixteen years ago)

if this had the full OSX instead of the iPhone OS, at 499 this would be awesome...

really? Iphone OS means no adobe acrobat = no access to most educational/interactive websites...

Deluxe Merseybeat Wig (Jack Battery-Pack), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:33 (sixteen years ago)

Jobs: iPad is our most advanced technology in magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price.

Jobs' Shop of Mystical Wonders.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:33 (sixteen years ago)

The only thing that's really wow about this is the price, but that's kinda enough.

Euler, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:33 (sixteen years ago)

what the hell are you talking about

xp

his power told him (about the fish) (gbx), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:34 (sixteen years ago)

what "websites" require acrobat?

What did you want? Looks pretty good to me. Maybe ability to handwrite on it would be good - wouldn't shock me if a third party could do that, though.

toby, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:34 (sixteen years ago)

really? Iphone OS means no adobe acrobat

There are PDF readers on the iPhone, they just aren't named Acrobat

not acrobat = sorry i meant Flash...

Deluxe Merseybeat Wig (Jack Battery-Pack), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

BIG DIFFERENCE BTW FLASH AND ACROBAT

Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

You can read PDFs on an iPhone perfectly well, so that won't be a problem on this. (x-post)

toby, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

Results 1 - 10 of about 79 for "sent from my ipad".
