yeah, the student market will gobble this shit up. most college students don't need to do serious hackery, but do need to have loads of different books going at the same time. so if you can plug a keyboard and a mouse into this thing, it'll be the ultimate student computer (which, tbh, is precisely who it's aimed at imo)

Oh, I'm sure, I'm just pointing out two areas where I find my old Kindle useful.

iWork Touch interface looks a hundred times better than iWork OS X interface.

i think milo's point was "ebooks are good for ... among other things" not "ebooks are only good for ..."

also, guys, i am getting a little excited about the prospect of this in a hospital/clinical setting. not that we'll see a usable/apple-y EMR anytime in the near future, but holy shit if you could tote this around instead of keeping track of a bazillion different patient charts AND use it to pull up references as needed....

eBooks are great -- and I am a college student so I know how useful this has the potential to be... but I just don't see the point of a computer you can draw on that doesn't have stuff like video editing and animation applications.

My Kindle is one of the first run, inherited from moms. It still works okay.

Can Apple just FINALLY absorb FileMaker/Bento back into the mothership? I'm annoyed at how backwards the default FM/B interfaces are compared with this.
