I've seen cheapo plain Rayban knockoffs in H&M and Topman for less than £10. This is in the UK, tho.

Lenses: polarized, or not? After some Oakleys but their current lens selections seem really dull; gold iridium might do but they're unpolarized.

they're actually tortoise shell but for some reason it doesn't come through in photos

Anyone have any experience with any of the following squarish-type aviators? I don't know if there are less expensive versions of these or whether any of them are suitable for prescription.

these are kind of sweet. If I were a rock star they'd be on my list.

If you keep your sunglasses on all day, when you take them off at sunset you get an extra hour of light

Should I pay $150 for some ray ban clubmasters or be be content with these cheap knockoffs?

I lost the only pair of real Ray Bans I ever bought within a month. I’ve had several pairs of $10 sunglasses for 20 years.

you should rock the cheap pair. spend the money on something important, like beer or records

I’ve also lost a pair of RBs that I had for like ten years, some aviators, in Central Park. Fuck

i always lost cheap sunglasses. when i finally bought expensive ones it made me care about them enough that i never lost them. this strategy may not work for everyone.

cheap sunglasses are not protective, better to squint

I have a pair of black Wayfairer Original Classics that I've had for 11 years. They are now several prescriptions old and don't have progressive lenses that I now need so I mostly wear them to play ultimate. Thinking of getting something new, but not sure what.

My wife's theory is that the more you pay for your sunglasses, the less likely you are to lose them, but I suspect that shifts on a case by case basis. I do know that I love my Ray-Bans, which may be only the third pair of sunglasses I've ever owned. Because I did lose the previous ones (in very exotic locales!).
Though did I lose them? I know exactly where they are/were, they were just irretrievable, so I suppose not so much lost as lost, as in, "lost to the sea." I have a friend who used to own the exact same style of glasses as me who dropped them in a music festival porta-potty. He said for a split second he debated fishing them out somehow. That's the downside of paying more for glasses.

Has it been discussed here yet that, when ostentatiously checking out somebody who has just entered the room, whether it is cooler to lift one's sunglasses up, or down?

A sunny day almost spring and everyone is wearing sunglassesDoes everyone have them like perched somewhere by their front door for easy access for today? Maybe I’m not in the routine or something
