Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:01 (twenty years ago)

Jesse knows me. Biblically.

(We went to Bible study group together as teenagers.)

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:01 (twenty years ago)

Really?

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:02 (twenty years ago)

Well, we were dressed like teenagers.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:05 (twenty years ago)

And the Bible we were studying was the recent Oscars.

And the church was a gay bar with cheap "vodka lemonades".

And...

No, not really.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:06 (twenty years ago)

"[V]odka lemonades"?? Sign me the fuck up.

Bible study: not so much.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:08 (twenty years ago)

We majored were in the same class, Sodom and Gamorrah: Nightlife in Ancient Times

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:10 (twenty years ago)

oops. strike "majored." shit.

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:10 (twenty years ago)

Wrestling 201: Going for the "inner thigh".

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:12 (twenty years ago)

Vodka lemonades on Sunday at Big Chicks, $2.50

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:12 (twenty years ago)

Aren't you supposed to be on a train, riding off into the sunset, out of my life, forever?

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:13 (twenty years ago)

majored

There you go

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:13 (twenty years ago)

I decided to stick around for one more night.

So. Do with that what you will.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:14 (twenty years ago)

s/that/me/;

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:14 (twenty years ago)

Vodka lemonades are so so. Cheap though.

Jeff. (Jeff), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:16 (twenty years ago)

s/that/me/;

what does that mean?

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:17 (twenty years ago)

xpost: vodka lemonades are the very definition of so-so. I wanted them to either taste like lemonade or be full of booze. They disapointed me all around. Except price, of course.

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:18 (twenty years ago)

s/that/me/;

I just figured that out: substitute "me" for "that." I think Chris used a similar construction to me earlier and I was totally baffled -- now I must find it.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:21 (twenty years ago)

Jesse, I'm Jenny. You may remember me from such states as North Carolina. We used to work together. You lived in my sun room for awhile.

Nutsy the Squirrel (pullapartgirl), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:21 (twenty years ago)

I still don't get it.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:22 (twenty years ago)

Well way to give fair warning. I have plans for tonight, TOP SECRET PLANS.

(Aside: Jeff, stop lowering my karma on FRM)

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:23 (twenty years ago)

Hint to Jaoyhmnc: S@lly M@nn.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:23 (twenty years ago)

is that how you met? working together?

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:23 (twenty years ago)

Otto, When are you going to have a party and invite your Headache friends and me, so we can become BFF and have a show together?

I'm getting pretty hyped about Memphis (and seeing my mom and sis) - it's in the 70s there, Baby! The 70s! And I called you all BABY!

Sarah Madkitten McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:23 (twenty years ago)

Jordan, what don't you get?

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:24 (twenty years ago)

The s/this/that/; is perl code. Don't mind me.

Do your TOP SECRET PLANS involve [CONTROVERSIAL MOD EDIT]?

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:24 (twenty years ago)

Hi, Jesse! I'm Kenan!

http://lifeinlegacy.com/2004/0117/CraigScott.jpg

Shiny Maroon (kenan), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:24 (twenty years ago)

are those "[controversial mod edit]" things for real? or is that a punchline I can throw into my daily conversation here?

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:25 (twenty years ago)

PERL?

UGH.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:26 (twenty years ago)

Jenny and I worked together in NC. We first met because she was the towel girl at the bath house and she found me mainlining crystal. I couldn't get a vein and I was just about to inject into my member when she stopped me and helped me shoot into my toe. We shared the needle of course and now we have a great GPA: and A, B and C on all our hep tests!

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:27 (twenty years ago)

I love the perl. LOVE IT.

I am pretty sure the [controversial mod edits] are purely for gits and shiggles.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:29 (twenty years ago)

Jesse, I didn't get Chris's perl code jokes.

(even though I work in IT and he's an itinerant poet)

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:29 (twenty years ago)

My TOP secret plans involve tops and secrets.

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:30 (twenty years ago)

So I guess I'm involved after all.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:31 (twenty years ago)

ITINERANT POET

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:31 (twenty years ago)

BRB, going to shave shit and shower.

unclejessjess (unclejessjess), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:31 (twenty years ago)

pwned

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Jordan/Chris, have you ever used Ruby? From what I hear it's like Perl but without all the annoying bullshit that makes no sense.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:33 (twenty years ago)

Nope. I'm just a tester, I have no skillz.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

Jordan, I actually convince computers to write most of my poetry for me. Thus giving me more time for itinering.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

I haven't used Ruby, but I am mostly doing text manipulation with perl, and am pretty much too lazy to bother learning another language, and actually I don't find that too much of it doesn't make sense, perhaps because I am doing fairly simple things with it.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Cool, just curious.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

I was going to make a "Perl necklace" joke that was going to revolve around the fact that Andre 3000 pronounces "cum" as "comma" in the hit song "Hey Ya!" -- but then I gave up.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:36 (twenty years ago)

I mostly manipulate text in LaTeX. There's some joke fodder for ya!

xpost double entendres ho!

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:36 (twenty years ago)

I want to learn LaTeX.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:40 (twenty years ago)

I suggest this book:
http://www.macrotex.net/texbooks/lamport.jpg
and if that ain't enough, find Guide to LaTeX, 4th Edition by Kopka & Daly, which has the power to make your head spin.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:43 (twenty years ago)

Where's Julia? She should introduce herself to Jesse.

Here's a fact about Julia that not all of you know: she's really cute.

Shiny Maroon (kenan), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:43 (twenty years ago)

Otto, When are you going to have a party and invite your Headache friends and me, so we can become BFF and have a show together?

no time soon. i won't be having any parties in my new place, the landlady lives upstairs and she keeps going on and on about how quiet the neighborhood is and how peaceful the building is. the place i moved out of saw a lot of late night after party action.

you should have been at the hideout saturday, all the citizens of the 'city except mike were there. norah was dj'ing, i may have been dancing. i know i was taking money out of the atm at 2:53 a.m. i seem to remember going to exit after that. it was a very long very drunk evening.

mike and lisa are also in cococoma so they'll be at the beat kitchen on the 11th but you won't be around. but there's a good triple bill of submarine races, cococoma, and miss alex white at the bottle on the 31st. cococoma's 7" ships today i think, so be on the look out. it's 3 of my 4 favorite songs from them so it should be a good one. it'll be out on shit sandwich.

if you want a show with them i'd say just email norah. though they're going on a west coast tour after SXSW so they'll be away for a couple weeks.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:43 (twenty years ago)

Is the other book an O'Reilly book? I love me some O'Reilly books. Nerdy looking books with friendly beer-bellied lions who are apparently dating dogs, those are good too.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:44 (twenty years ago)

hey, that's julia? i've never seen a photo. she is cute!!
