I'm here again! Mostly holed up with family though as usual. Anything crucial changed in town that I should know about?

uhm...was last here briefly in June, before that last Christmas. I'm not really plugged into things anyway, just saw the thread and thought it would be wrong somehow to not pop up and say "I'm here!"

yay! I have been out of the country for six months and plunging back in by way of my family life has sort of broken all my social instincts. So far the main changes I've observed in the States are my family's acquisition of like three hundred remote controls, several of which don't control anything and one of which has to be constantly switched between different modes (ie, "TV" to change channels, "AUD" to turn the volume up).

Also my dad got married and they're swapping some furniture around. But everybody's still on the Atkins diet so there is some comforting familiarity around here.

It is snowing in Knoxville and they closed the Gay Street bridge. I live in the Old City so I walked up and took some pictures. Our city looks so pretty when it is a marshmallow world.

Thanks, Trayce! We never get snow, either, which is why I got so giddy and excited over our two inches.

went up in the sunsphere the other day. surprisingly, it didn't smell like piss. was a neat view. downtown knoxville is kind of ugly, though.

parts of downtown are ugly, and it definitely doesn't look like much from above. but at street level i think gay street and some of the little streets south of market square are nice, and market square itself too. plus i always like the sort of rough/ragged edges of everything. part of its personality.

and i love that photo of krutch park.
