I'd say that The Cosby Show has about as much chance of winding up in the top ten as Silk Stalkings does.

Zoo Snickers (Deric W. Haircare), Thursday, 10 December 2009 19:30 (sixteen years ago)

i think Cosby Show is thought of enough as an '80s show, and its '90s seasons are thought of enough as "the Raven Symone era," that it could totally miss this poll.

some dude, Thursday, 10 December 2009 19:35 (sixteen years ago)

this is an abomination

Lamp, Thursday, 10 December 2009 19:36 (sixteen years ago)

BTW, stevie, the sets I've bought from the dude who sells complete SNL seasons on the afore(un)mentioned site are of shockingly high quality. I was expecting them to all be barely watchable transfers from rapidly-degrading VHS, but such has not been the case as of yet.

Zoo Snickers (Deric W. Haircare), Thursday, 10 December 2009 19:37 (sixteen years ago)

tyrna find language strong enough to accurately register my disgust but im not sure it exists... p much suffice to say none of u deserve to own a tv or breathe oxygen ever again

Lamp, Thursday, 10 December 2009 19:42 (sixteen years ago)

Thank you, Lamp. I'd been waiting for someone to audit my taste and/or worth.

Zoo Snickers (Deric W. Haircare), Thursday, 10 December 2009 19:48 (sixteen years ago)

P.S. Am I allowed to still watch stuff on my computer?

Lamp post a list of shit u would've voted for or shut the fucking fuck up

some dude, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:10 (sixteen years ago)

Not holding out much hope for People Like Us, which was in my top 5 as it was gently brilliant.

Not the real Village People, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:10 (sixteen years ago)

Okay wait - still no Letterman on this list? If Conan's in the list, surely Letterman's gotta be one of the remaining few...?

Sean Carruthers, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:20 (sixteen years ago)

i dunno about that, in terms of quality Conan's best decade was the '90s and Dave's was the '80s, or at least that was my rationale for voting for the former and not the latter.

some dude, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:29 (sixteen years ago)

Lamp post a list of shit u would've voted for or shut the fucking fuck up

lol i only know like 1 british show

Lamp, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:36 (sixteen years ago)

Lamp, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:40 (sixteen years ago)

anyone nom marc wootton's 'my new best friend'?

cozwn, Thursday, 10 December 2009 20:43 (sixteen years ago)

That's from this decade, and no.

DavidM, Thursday, 10 December 2009 21:06 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, and i was asking what you did watch that isn't on the list

some dude, Thursday, 10 December 2009 21:19 (sixteen years ago)

weird list, was just checking My So-Called Life was actually on here so I didn't have to execute every motherfucking last one of you... expecting Dawson's T4 shite to be ten places above but you can't have everything. Great call on "How Do You Want Me?" Noodle, but insanely optimistic about anyone else remembering it!!

fndgo, Thursday, 10 December 2009 22:23 (sixteen years ago)

Deep Space Nine >>> TNG mind you...

if only they'd stopped right there for another decade or two >:(

fndgo, Thursday, 10 December 2009 22:28 (sixteen years ago)

President Keyes, Thursday, 10 December 2009 22:59 (sixteen years ago)

Other than the Simpsons I have no idea what's in the top 10. All the shows I figured would be there (Homicide, X-Files, Larry Sanders) have already placed.

President Keyes, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:02 (sixteen years ago)

You dont think Seinfeld or Twin Peaks will get a look in?

millivanillimillenary (Trayce), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:30 (sixteen years ago)

i'm a bit confused about how many americans actually voted in this, but i assume if they turned out then twin peaks has won.

caek, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:33 (sixteen years ago)

thank you

caek, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:39 (sixteen years ago)

slightly baffled by NV's violent reaction to the fast show, given he was find with red dwarf

caek, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:40 (sixteen years ago)

As I said, Red Dwarf was flawed but when on song it brought the lolz, Fast Show was a lot more flaw than lol, plus I really dislike the sentimentalizing of sketch comedy, plus it placed stupidly high on here against vastly superior shows, so I didn't feel like breaking out the measured responses to it.

You treat your step-mother with respect, Pantera (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:45 (sixteen years ago)

i should have voted for larry sanders

abanana, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

the sentimentalizing of sketch comedy

who does this?

caek, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:47 (sixteen years ago)

Paul Whitehouse, mostly.

You treat your step-mother with respect, Pantera (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:50 (sixteen years ago)

I really don't need cyphers in a 2-minute sketch to have rich inner lives.

You treat your step-mother with respect, Pantera (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:50 (sixteen years ago)

I *liked* that about Rowley and Ted& Ralph, but as always YMMV, so whatever.

millivanillimillenary (Trayce), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

I'm trying to stop banging on anyway. I've said why I don't like it, other people do, bully for them. I was just answering yr question about why I'd still got time for Red Dwarf and not for 90 percent of Fast Show. I didn't vote for either of them, which sums it up really.

You treat your step-mother with respect, Pantera (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:54 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, and i was asking what you did watch that isn't on the list

Lamp, Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:59 (sixteen years ago)

(Blink.)

Yes, now I understand why I need to stop watching TV and living. It's...all so clear to me now.

Zoo Snickers (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 11 December 2009 00:13 (sixteen years ago)

P.S. LJ, there could be an upset, but I don't really see the first two years of South Park being enough to warrant it a spot in the top ten.

Zoo Snickers (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 11 December 2009 00:15 (sixteen years ago)

Unless a lot of peeps were like me and just voted for things from the list without thinking about how much of them was broadcast in the 90s.

You treat your step-mother with respect, Pantera (Noodle Vague), Friday, 11 December 2009 00:16 (sixteen years ago)

Was Jeeves & Wooster nominated? I'm watching that now and it's great.

President Keyes, Friday, 11 December 2009 00:20 (sixteen years ago)

yes

caek, Friday, 11 December 2009 00:24 (sixteen years ago)

7. The State

forgot about this being in the running, have to get ready to be annoyed if it's in the top 10 and apoplectic if it's higher than KITH

some dude, Friday, 11 December 2009 00:44 (sixteen years ago)

I'm beginning to think The State might very well sneak into the top ten, but I will be with you in losing my shit if it's above KITH.

Zoo Snickers (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 11 December 2009 00:57 (sixteen years ago)

what on my excellently-rendered breakdown (well, deric's excellently-rendered and now rejigged breakdown) is possibly not gonna be here?

102. LJ: British. 5. (acoleuthic), Friday, 11 December 2009 00:58 (sixteen years ago)

Yes, now I understand why I need to stop watching TV and living. It's...all so clear to me now.

well yw then

Lamp, Friday, 11 December 2009 01:03 (sixteen years ago)

I'm proud that my #1 was Beavis and Butthead, so I'll just share that with you all right now.

The State deserves to place.

billstevejim, Friday, 11 December 2009 01:10 (sixteen years ago)

My #1 was Quantum Leap.

Mordy, Friday, 11 December 2009 01:15 (sixteen years ago)

I'm going to be doing the top ten at a fair old speed I'm afraid. Places to be.

Communi-Bear Silo State (chap), Friday, 11 December 2009 13:53 (sixteen years ago)

need to see more of this, remember it from late night C4 but didn't get most of it aged 14.
