― dar1a g (daria g), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 14:43 (twenty years ago)
today i'm wearing stretchy skin-tight jeans, a red and white tartan flannel that's slightly too small, and white adidas with red stripes and red shoelaces.
"hugo" by hugo boss, gabby?

Girls black fitted polo top from TargetCharcoal pinstripe a-line miniskirt from SearsBlack opaque tights from TargetBlack mary-janes with double straps and cherry buckles from Hot Topic.Gold (colored)"Lightning strikes twice" necklace from Urban OutfittersEngagement ring.Wedding ring.Tinkerbell watch.Maybelline dream mousse shimmer in 'Golden of Eden' from KrogerJessica Simpson's Dessert Treats hair and body shimmer mist in 'Cotton Candy' from Walgreens
I know what you're thinking: "Classy!"
Yesterday was different:
Cherry red corduroy jeans from Gap (not the red they were purchased in. i dyed them a deeper, less 80s corporate whore, red at home)Navy t-shirt with dark red printed silver jews "peace" logo and tiny wear holes all over from Drag City Records.Forest green chenille sox from Walgreens. Pleasant Plains' black vans size 10 from I dont know where. Red Earth Secret Potion in white (the best illuminator you will find ANYWHERE)from Red Earth Store, Australia.Jessica Simpson's Dessert Treats hair and body shimmer mist in 'Cotton Candy' from Walgreens
If you havent tried it yet, I recommend wearing sneakers one size bigger than your shoe size. Its comfort and liberty all rolled up into one outstanding footwear experience. Now when I buy shoes and they arrive, I put them on and whine "Oh, crap! They fit!" It is awfully hard to go back.

me: pumpkin shirt, shortsleeved button-up, 55% linen 45% cotton; cheap navy barn coat as it's cold in my office; eggshell khakis; white socks; black non-leather shoes. under it all [checks]: yep, my grinch-themed boxers. JEALOUS MUCH< PUNKS?
― Haikunym (Haikunym), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 17:11 (twenty years ago)
I have fallen into the dirtbag student swing of things. So many clothes in closet yet: Khaki stretchy jean-like pants that I wore yesterday as well, something sticky (food?) on right thigh, bright turqoise v-neck t-shirt that's all stretched out, I mean, you can see my bra and it's not a great bra, $1.99 blue chinatown slippers. I should change, everything, leave house, read somewhere else, not be dirtbag.
― rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 17:23 (twenty years ago)
Haikunym, is eggshell a beige color or a blue color? I've never been able to get that straight.

haha, barrel.
They have Red Earth at a certain drugstore here! I am going for an illuminating walk. My cheekbones need THE LIGHT, THE DISCOBALL LIGHT.
(I think eggshell is like white, like the colour of walls.)
― rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 18:20 (twenty years ago)
Illuminator ends up on boys anyway, the glitteries just like to leap off my skin and onto others for some reason.

― Eazy (Eazy), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 18:22 (twenty years ago)
robyn, where are you at? im having a hell of a time getting hold of any red earth products. all the australian stores closed down and the two sites i can find it on are having problems with their online stores (including red earth itself).

that's what I'm saying! I think it cost $3. I don't know, I got it in either New Bedford or Fall River, Massachusetts, and I can't explain why it was there, but after much thrifting experience one can sorta pick out good quality items just going on the fabric, and then I looked at the tag & said hey.. WTF? it's got a little snag on the sleeve that I should have repaired, I think it's where the fools stapled a tag on there. you know, I think it was even half price as it had been there a while.

Revive! Turn to the left, goon squad coming to town, yada yada.
Me, today: black Cheap Monday jeans, black and metallic gold Jean Michel Basquiat T-shirt made by friends (so not the ones that are currently £12 at Uniqlo), Goody hairslide, black ballet flats, accessorized with a round velveteen handbag from the Muji outlet shop at Whiteley's (which I recommend because it's LOL cheap).
Uniqlo Keith Haring shirt purchase y/n?
― suzy, Thursday, 22 May 2008 14:16 (eighteen years ago)
I'm wearing M&S gear.

Nah, pics are for WDYLL.
― suzy, Thursday, 22 May 2008 15:57 (eighteen years ago)
I'm wearing my standard issue gear for mornings when I have no school and no job - blue/white plaid pajama pants and a coffee stained t-shirt.
― Z S, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:02 (eighteen years ago)
Suzy, yes buy the Uniqlo t-shirt. I got three great ones from the Japanese Pop Culture series in Hong Kong last year (£3 each!) They're pretty well made and don't do that twisty seam thing.
I'm just back from moving out of/decorating my old flat so I'm wearing crappy old clothes: Nike Airs that need to be thrown, paint-spattered Warehouse jean, nylon vintage sports shirt thing, a 14-year-old Manchester uni hoodie and a white i-pattern watch.
― Madchen, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:07 (eighteen years ago)
cyan and blue stripes
black jeans
red deck shoes
― the pinefox, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:08 (eighteen years ago)
M, YAY new flat, is it in the same part of town as the old one?
I just came back from charity shop, where I have just scored, also for £3, an Eley Kishimoto printed cardigan.
― suzy, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:14 (eighteen years ago)
Excellent score!
I have moved from East to West and in with him indoors. It is quite different -- much more bustly and there is no longer the grim inevitability of being woken from my weekend lie-ins by the pipes and drums of the grim orangers over the next couple of months. Also I am about 50 yards from one of the three greatest cheese shops in the UK, which is quite nice.
― Madchen, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:23 (eighteen years ago)
ps. PF, cyan and blue is a great combo.
― Madchen, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:24 (eighteen years ago)
is that a joke?
I meant cyan and white, sorry.
― the pinefox, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:29 (eighteen years ago)
white oxford shirt black sweater with tweedy elbow patches grey pants, a bit on the olive side two-day beard unnecessarily intense expression
― kenan, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:31 (eighteen years ago)
^^^ the English supply teacher look.
M&S black jeans, brown M&S t-shirt which helpfully has "T-SHIRT" printed inside the collar in case you forget what it is.
― snoball, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:59 (eighteen years ago)
Not a joke at all! I thought you meant cyan and a darker blue, like royal or navy. But I do think cyan and pretty much anything is great. Even eyepopping cyan and red.
― Madchen, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:10 (eighteen years ago)
those "engineered" levi's or whatever the fuck they are called. some grey printed sneakers some weirdo green sweater (which my mum gave)
i don't give a shit about clothes anymore. i could live in nice jeans with a black t-shirt for the rest of my life.
― stevienixed, Thursday, 22 May 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

― stevienixed, Thursday, 22 May 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

― Surmounter, Thursday, 22 May 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

I did for years, but got fed up looking like an extra in The Matrix. A fat extra in The Matrix. So recently I've gone for the "youngish-to-middle-aged fart @ M&S" look.
