xpost i'm convinced that tiny fey was copying as much as possible the action from this snuggie ad for the promo filming scene

haha she is so awkward in that cover photo

The only reason I found that cover is Entertainment Weekly asked her what her biggest regret was, and her answer was appearing on the cover of Entertainment Weekly w/that haircut.

i've been rewatching the whole series with my gf, and the weirdest thing happened when watching the season 2 ep where edie falco first shows up. i was doing netflix on the xbox, and all of the foley sounds and music cues were there, but all the dialogue was silent! it was actually pretty hilarious to see tracey bust into the rerun dance with no context. then i tried streaming it on my computer and it was fine.

hey trader joe's! i've got the new steely dan. (Jordan), Thursday, 10 December 2009 17:54 (sixteen years ago)

I have a Roku box, I think I've rewatched every ep at least three times by now, if not more. There's always a joke you didn't get the first time, and you start noticing random things, like there's this one actor who plays the same homeless guy in multiple episodes, or that Troy from Community shows up as different characters too (the ep where Jenna seduces Jack's "boss," he plays a stagehand who takes the actor to the stage).

am waiting to watch the latest for my roommate to leave the living room (we both have finals right now, i feel like i have to at least look like i'm working instead of watching tv while he's around). i'm so impatient!

Maria, Friday, 11 December 2009 15:57 (sixteen years ago)

julianne moores accent kinda sucked tbh

ice cr?m, Friday, 11 December 2009 15:58 (sixteen years ago)

great episode

max, Friday, 11 December 2009 16:04 (sixteen years ago)

I usually love Julianne Moore, but her presence in this episode grated on my soul. Her attempt at a Boston accent was horribly done and the whole plotline with her was pretty creepy.

The rest of the episode was fairly good, especially Verdukianism, but the Jack and Julianne stuff was terrible. I hope she doesn't turn out to be a regular character.

Also, did anyone notice that Liz had kind of a small role this week? That's kind of a bummer.

Moodles, Friday, 11 December 2009 17:29 (sixteen years ago)

who does great boston accents in the 30-rock SNL universe?

Philip Nunez, Friday, 11 December 2009 18:30 (sixteen years ago)

Rachel Dratch

wtf?!? just randomly started crying! (HI DERE), Friday, 11 December 2009 18:38 (sixteen years ago)

I have no beef with Julianne Moore, but am all for replacing Alec Baldwin's love interest with Rachel Dratch.

Philip Nunez, Friday, 11 December 2009 18:41 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i miss rachel popping up as random characters like in season one

Johnny Fever, Friday, 11 December 2009 19:06 (sixteen years ago)

real question: how many people in the boston area actually have a stereotypical boston accent these days? i haven't been there in ages but i don't remember it being a huge thing.

Siberian Klaatu (get bent), Friday, 11 December 2009 19:43 (sixteen years ago)

Part of that is because a large # of people who live here didn't grow up here; I'd guess that in my normal travels it's about 50%; most of my friends do not have the accent, but most of the people I ride the bus with who were born in the area do.

wtf?!? just randomly started crying! (HI DERE), Friday, 11 December 2009 19:46 (sixteen years ago)

I like 30 Rock more than the Office now. Last season it was the other way around.

This Christmas episode was good, but everything Liz Lemon said had me LOL.

"I'm gonna go work on your real gift. You know what would go real nice on that wall over there? A drawing of a frog..."

Adam Bruneau, Friday, 11 December 2009 22:58 (sixteen years ago)

i worked for 3 years at a job that required me to be on the phone all day w/ people all over the country. a relatively small % of the southerners I spoke to had audible southern accents but i swear that EVERY SINGLE PERSON i ever talked to in Massachusetts and also many in surrounding states had thick stereotypical Boston accents.

some dude, Friday, 11 December 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

i think Moore's accent was bad and annoying on purpose but it still really pretty much ruined every scene she was in for me. gonna be pissed if she gets a Hayek-style arc.

i read this before watching the ep and fully expected to disagree with everything you said but...otm. except the episode was really bad by 30 rock standards

k3vin k., Saturday, 12 December 2009 05:08 (sixteen years ago)

tehresa, Saturday, 12 December 2009 05:19 (sixteen years ago)

tehresa, Saturday, 12 December 2009 05:20 (sixteen years ago)

Bizarro! This was a most bodacious episode.

Anyone who doesn't love Jenna gives me a rage stroke.

WBS* Jenna, in other words.

Leee, Saturday, 12 December 2009 05:27 (sixteen years ago)

good episode but it could have used more tracy.

sonderangerbot, Saturday, 12 December 2009 12:27 (sixteen years ago)

love eps where tracy is the one who knows what's up

tehresa, Saturday, 12 December 2009 19:56 (sixteen years ago)

they need to stop having guest stars to have story arcs with Donaghy. Pain in the arse.
