Boo, my Frampton elf (Garrett) was booted. I didn't exactly like his performance, but I wanted him to stay around another week because he is a Frampton elf.

I liked Garrett too! Like I was saying before, I feel for the contestants who don't get a lot of screen time before the semi-finals.

I expected Colton to stay too...at least there was something memorable about him that would have stuck in people's minds, versus the one guy who sang Moon River or something.

Aww, I liked Colton much more than Moon River guy/Chikezie. And Joanne's exit seemed premature too. Oh well.

I thought Brooke and Alexandrea were the two best tonight. I also liked Alaina a lot better than the judges apparently did. Lullaby was really bad, what happened to her since last week? Kady and Amanda were really terrible. Everybody else was basically average.

My girl Ramiele kind of disappointed me this week.

Asia'h sounded like shit for the first 2/3rds of the song that I watched, I flipped away for a minute and then switched back expecting the judges to admit it was a disaster, instead it was business as usual with Randy and Paula being positive and Simon being the only critical one. WTF happened, did she actually pull it together at the end?

Danny Noriega's arrangement of "Hot Stuff" was the same as the Pussycat Dolls' cover. I would have given him infinite props if he had ended the song with a little bit of "Where Did Our Love Go?" but I suppose time constraints were an issue.

They were all obviously on Paula's pills tonight, and the affects really kicked in when they were heaping praise on Amanda's Joan Jett song (that girl is awful).

I thought it was an awesome choice for her, but she didn't deliver with the vocals. She sounded sort of tired.

Her voice gets shakey because she's stomping around the stage so hard, and then she goes off key.

Really? She also didn't smile when Randy and Paula complimented her, or when Ryan was talking to her afterwards...it made her seem really unpleasant. I wonder if something was wrong.

What I don't get is why does everyone consider Simon's opinion to the most important? If I was a singer I'd rather get feedback from someone like Randy who's actually worked with and produced songs for several big artists/famous songs. What the fuck has Simon done? Oh right, he manages Il Divo.

I loved it a couple weeks ago when Simon admitted without any shame that he'd never heard Heart's "Magic Man". Does Heart not get airplay on UK radio? Furthermore, he's been in the US for about eight years now. Has he never ever turned on a classic rock station?

I've never heard of Heart before I started watching AI. I don't think they're known at all in Europe.

Even though Idol is trying to obscure the iTunes rankings of the contestants' songs in relation to each other, they still show if they're on the iTunes top songs list, and Jason Castro's version of Hallelujah is at #94.

I actually think this is the strongest top 12 there's been since I've started watching the show (season 3), though I think they've all been pretty close to the same quality.
