ZEBRAS, GUYS, FUCKING ZEBRAS

river wolf, Thursday, 19 April 2007 06:36 (nineteen years ago)

Last night was the first time ever that we got to the punch before they did. It's amazing how frustrating it is to be one step ahead of House.

I'm just overall sick of every fucking television programme and every bloody conversation I have having to revolve around children. Adults get sick too! The one last week with "OMG House discovers that foetuses are really children" just fucking annoyed me.

But I love him and Wilson and Cuddy so much. The others, meh.

accentmonkey, Thursday, 19 April 2007 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
Foreman put in his two weeks, dudes!

Abbott, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:44 (nineteen years ago)

I keep waiting for the day Stephen Fry guests.

Abbott, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:48 (nineteen years ago)

As a dying man who bests House in verbal sparring matches at every turn, obviously.

en i see kay, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:54 (nineteen years ago)

House "accidentally" forgets to anesthetize him before sticking a needle in his eye, hilarity ensues.

en i see kay, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

I've only seen about 1 episode of this show, but I like this essay: http://jeremydenk.blogspot.com/2007/04/more-about-house.html

Jordan, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

I've started watching this thing a few days back because someone told me the main character looked like my dad (which he does indeed). At first I foundthis show really boring but i came back for more House zings. I agree that it's a bit formulaic, that you know they'll try a first cure that will make the patient's condition worse before finding the cure, usually at the last moment. What matters is House pwnage as Abbott said upthread. Chase and Cameron feel a bit useless on this show, they hardly bring anything to this show (well, except the fact that umm House needs other doctors to boss around). I like Foreman more and he also seems to be the only one of the three who doesnt look at House like he is God almighty. Wilson and Cuddy are great too.

Jibe, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 20:41 (nineteen years ago)

House totally dosed Wilson's espresso w/speed last night. I'm sure it was the FUNNIES but then a severe weather report came on to let us know it was hailing outside.

Abbott, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

oh lol!

lfam, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 21:27 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, the format of each show is pretty formulaic. "differential diagnosis time" zzzz

still, i love house and cuddy and wilson

lfam, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 21:28 (nineteen years ago)

It's nice because you know you can miss the first 20 minutes...the real diagnosis rarely is ever comes in before 43 minutes.

Abbott, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 21:39 (nineteen years ago)

Yes indeed to house cuddy and wilson. Also, watching House is fun cause in the 10 or so eps from season 1 i've seen there have been 2 Lost actors and 2 Prison Break actors and i like playing "spot the actor who played in another series".

xp: true dat about the diagnosis coming after approx 43mins. But where is the fun if you don't see 1 seizure, 1 (or more) false meds handed to the patient, 1 intubation, 1 disagreement amongst docs about what disease has struck their patient etc . Also, i love listening to them talking about all the weird diseases their patient could have, even though it doesnt make an ounce of sense to me.

Jibe, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 21:42 (nineteen years ago)

He dosed Wilson, who then, as revenge, dosed him with anti-depressants, which led House to the correct diagnosis of the girl, who lived.

And Cuddy looked as hot as ever.

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 21:54 (nineteen years ago)

I can't imagine anyone else playing House. I had never heard of the guy, and was surprised he was English. I really couldn't care less if his accent is spot-on, because the guy plays the part so well. Even though I am a Yank, and live in New Jersey no less, I can't tell whether the accent is perfect or not, and I don't really care.

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:00 (nineteen years ago)

Here's a good site where a doctor reviews how accurate each episodes' medicine went:

Abbott, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, that's pretty interesting!

Jordan, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:13 (nineteen years ago)

Hmm. Cool.

Michael White, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:20 (nineteen years ago)

keep waiting for the day Stephen Fry guests.

No kidding. Fry's been guesting on Bones so at least it's the same network. C'mon already...

Elvis Telecom, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

The other guy from Jeeves & Wooster guested on the Katrina episode.

Abbott, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:24 (nineteen years ago)

They should have House appear on QI instead.
He could figure out what's wrong with Sean Lock while he's there.

Øystein, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:39 (nineteen years ago)

But where is the fun if you don't see 1 seizure,

i loved the episode where the cop was chasing the guy in the alley and then he starts acting crazy and then he collapses and dies and it turns out he was growing dozens of pot plants

lfam, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

actually i just love that part

lfam, Wednesday, 9 May 2007 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

Season finale was such a stupid dud. The past two have been really well-crafted, intricate interpersonal stories that departed in an exciting way from the normal format. This one just had a lot of really embarrassing fake accents, retarded and impossible medicine, and then kiss goodbye to half the main characters for no reason. WTF.

Abbott, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 22:32 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, and House seemed to be OK with it, so there's no I-wonder-what-he'll-do-to-get-them-back anticipation for the next season. Shark jumped?

robertwolf8080, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

Stephen Fry becomes medical assistant; supplanted by comical chimpanzee assistant doctor 8 episodes in.

Abbott, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 22:38 (nineteen years ago)

I wonder if they did that because some of the cast members are renegotiating their contracts or leaving for real, or if it's all just another red herring. House is increasingly feeling like one of those shows where entire episodes are built around anything that can seem 'shocking' in a 30-second teaser ad.

Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

I just watched a DVD of some early episodes -- my first viewings of the show -- and I love how all the Britishers think that Laurie's accent is bad while all the Americaners, myself included, had no idea he wasn't born-n-bred in the US.

libcrypt, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 03:34 (nineteen years ago)

HOUSE!! Abbott - HOUSE!!

ENBB, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

I KNOW I AM FLIPPING OUT HERE. I have been geexing on Hugh Laurie interviews for the past three hours – guy's got the depression, makes me wanna give him a hug even more.

Abbott, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:24 (eighteen years ago)

36 minutes to launch.

Abbott, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:24 (eighteen years ago)

Jennifer Morrison (Dr. Cameron) is on the cover of Modern Bride er summat this month smiling her not-smile. She's marrying the guy who plays Chase---whole photo spread on the inside of Ralph-Laurened-out Chase looking like he's going to tackle the world in love and glee and there's Jennifer in her strapless gown, looking like an unfriendly cat coming out of anesthesia.

(NB I just saw this mag in the grocery checkout line, I'm not running some House Gallery & Gossip geocities site.)

Abbott, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

They broke up! pssst - Sign me up for your site emails. ;-)

ENBB, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

WAHT they broke up on the show or IRL? Bcz they are engaged IRL and I would love to see egg on the botoxed face of Modern Bride magazine. I fucking hate bridal magazines.

Abbott, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:39 (eighteen years ago)

In Real Life!! It happened a couple weeks ago. I hate them too. The wedding industrial complex is scary.

ENBB, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 01:44 (eighteen years ago)

Episode was alright - next week's looks like a lot more fun though

robertwolf8080, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 02:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not running some House Gallery & Gossip geocities site

lol

it was "geocities site" that did it for me

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 02:18 (eighteen years ago)

Did anyone else think the bizarre new color to Wilson's personality might play out nicely in the future? He'd been becoming a serious downer for a long time.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 06:19 (eighteen years ago)

Cuddy looks like she's been hitting the gym-totally smoking

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 14:56 (eighteen years ago)

Lisa Edelstein has always been way hot (or has a "zesty bod," in the parlance of House).

Alex in Baltimore, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 15:16 (eighteen years ago)

Agreed-for some reason she looked even hotter last night.

Bill Magill, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 15:19 (eighteen years ago)

"I don't negotiate with terrorists" *deletes telenovelas*

Elvis Telecom, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

I don't get the love for this show at all.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:34 (eighteen years ago)

so i missed this, is the rest of the cast actually gone and not returning?

akm, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

I really seriously doubt any of them aren't coming back. In fact I think I've seen some of them make public statements about going back to work on the new season recently. More likely the first handful of episodes this season will be without them just 'mix things up' or whatever.

Alex in Baltimore, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

The full cast is returning, but instead of being on House's team they'll be heading teams of their own (or so says my mom, who read that someplace).

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

hmmmmm dunno about this new sidekick to-be girl they've set up. on the other hand, "yr eyes are lopsided. and by eyes i mean breasts."

r|t|c, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

did i read correctly that kumar of 'harold and' fame is gonna be in this now too?? that could also suck. or be cool, i dunno.

r|t|c, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah giving his old team their own teams could be alright, but if they're just going to put a new Cameron-type girl on House's team it'll be lame. But this show has already proved itself willing and eager to throw plausibility and character development out the window for an exciting "next week on House" promo. I give it at most 2 more seasons before they do something so ridiculous it gets hard to watch anymore.

Alex in Baltimore, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

I thought the reason to watch this show was the escalating ridiculousness!
