Hey I'm playing tonight at The White Rabbit if anyone is after something to do. Techno, Dubstep, House, Garage, Disco all mixed up in a drunkenly hyperactive (but hopefully smoothly) fashion. I'm going to start things quite slowly with some dance-flavoued post-rock sounds (think Insides, Seefeel and MBV) from 8 and then raise the tempo. Come and say hi!

I gotta be in tonight, but that sounds good. Setlist please!

I doubt I'll be able to remember because I like to play as the mood fits me, but I'm going to be starting with a selection from:

Never been big on Insides, but that looks good!

I think as it stands (I last heard about a month ago) the Freebutt is open, but until they can afford to play for 20–30k of sound insulation they have a sound restriction in place restricting the volume to below that of an unamplified drummer, which means folk acts and spoken word pretty much only downstairs. Upstairs is allowed to open on similar sound restriction levels.

Just checked online and that's what seems to be on the page Nick posted.

anything going on gig or club-wise on the 16th? would be good to feel a bit of the local culture on my flying conference visit.

Just looked at the Source and -oh no!- I missed Six Organs again. Gah! But yeah, not a lot on that Thursday. Cave of Dreams in 3D during the late afternoon though, I should make an effort to go and see that at the pictures.

Note to self: must visit Brighton again before summer ends.

many days later - yeppp, I was at the SSPT conference! Thank you for the gig recommendation, it was a lot of fun (and welcome distraction after my paper kinda bombed...), and the, erm, less appealing 'Paradise City' night afterwards offered good opportunity to have a useful relatively early night. You have a very nice town down there, the little of it I saw, I look forward to visiting again but with a less packed schedule.

I'm going to a Japanese theatre on Sunday night but hey it might finish in time to run to see the Hard-Ons afterwards! I think I'm going to be at the Prince Albert on Saturday night for Stay Sick/Dirty Water club night, so at least I'll know where it is.

If anyone's at a loose end tomorrow I'm going to be DJing at the West Hill pub from about 11. The night is a mix of stuff, but I'm concentrating on German and Japanese music as I'm thinking of starting my own night dedicated purely to that (this is a test to see if it works).

Or... our indiepop night is having a relaunch at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar (formerly Jam) on Friday 9th September. We need to double the clientele we were getting at Tom's Pissy Stench Sex Dungeon to make it work at the new place, so if you have even a passing interest please come down.
