Haha! Mr. Tombot! You have not experienced MOUNTAIN DEW X, an INTENSE NEW DEVELOPMENT in the MOUNTAIN DEW FAMILY! It is TO THE EXTREME and contains TAURINE! It is a test product only and NOT FOR RESALE! And yet I, with my high-level connections in the SNACK AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY, have imbibed thereof! Suck on that! Tombot! All hail the NEW DEW MASTER!

NABISCO HAS OUT-DEWED YOU, Saturday, 17 September 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

I hate you. I mean I love you, but I fucking hate you for the disruption to my life you are causing, man.

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Sunday, 18 September 2005 03:44 (twenty years ago)

TOMBOT, have you ever had AMP? That is technically a Mt. Dew as well, da?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 19 September 2005 15:38 (twenty years ago)

I HAVE DRANK ALL THE FAKE DR. PEPPERS (and my kidneys have slowly disintigrated into a murky sugar-coated goo-like substance)

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Monday, 19 September 2005 15:53 (twenty years ago)

I still have not tasted the Pitch Black II in my pantry.

(I am also very thankful that the 'R' key on my keyboard works.)

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 19 September 2005 16:15 (twenty years ago)

I have also had "Amp" but it is like $2.50 a can @ the only place I know that sells it. It is disappointingly conventional.

TOMBOT, Monday, 19 September 2005 16:20 (twenty years ago)

a friend of mine once told me that mountain dew lowers your sperm count.

Creez (Creez), Monday, 19 September 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, if you inject it directly into your nuts.

Helluva punch line at the end of that.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Monday, 19 September 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

Okay, they just stocked the machines today at work.
"LIMITED EDITION" on the side of the bottles.

the taste is...odd. i liked the original better, and even Big League Chew had better sour grape taste.

kingfish superman ice cream (kingfish 2.0), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 16:17 (twenty years ago)

I like code red...it seems to have more of a kick, caffeine-wise, than regular old mountain dew. It's probably just my imagination.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

The best part about Pitch Black II is how the dye in the head turns your ice blue.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 20 September 2005 16:34 (twenty years ago)

I thought it would give you eyes that glow in the dark like Vin Diesel in that movie.

PITCH BLACK II -- Them Rat Lizards Is Pissed

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 20 September 2005 16:58 (twenty years ago)

two months pass...
I tried MDX a couple of weeks back. It was fuckin' undrinkable. Horrid. Worse than Pitch Black II.
Who knew there were so many official websites for all the different mountain dew brands?

Also, I really think they should bring back SURGE.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 19:48 (twenty years ago)

I had MDX today at lunch. Now i am surely playing with power.

kingfish hobo juckie (kingfish 2.0), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

I STILL BEAT YOU BY OVER TWO MONTHS SUCK IT

nabiscothingy, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

What they should bring back is the Crystal Pepsi. For all I know it actually tastes like ass, but back in the day I was all about CrysPep and Corn Nuts, and I'd at least like the opportunity to verify whether my tastes have changed since, umm, age 13.

nabiscothingy, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

Crystal Pepsi was white Karo watered down and then carbonated. Shit was a little horrifying.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 11 January 2007 21:51 (nineteen years ago)

Diet Mt. Dew is the best diet soda by about a million miles. Much better than the non-diet version, too.

Chris H. (chrisherbert), Thursday, 11 January 2007 21:52 (nineteen years ago)

woah, this is a great great TOMBOT thread and that's sayin something.

Anybody know what this summer's flavor is going to be? Are they going to bring back the Grape/Big League Chew-flavored one?

Tom H OTM; no other diet soda comes close.

since gettin diagnosed as diabetic late last year, perhaps at least partially due to years of over-consumption of the sweetie-sweets including sodas and (uggggh) "energy drinks," the diet dew is a total staple.

Michael J McGonigal (mike mcgonigal), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

The Dew site looks like it's been teabagged by Fred Durst.

Je4nn3 Fuhfuh (Je4nne Fury), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

Pitch Black II tastes like the Kool-Aid in concentrated form I used to prepare to dye my hair purple in seventh grade. I always wanted to try Baja Blast but I don't wanna break my ~15 year no Taco Bell streak.

Thanks for the link! We've got this place right up the street, but in the land of four-dollar twelve packs from the supermarket, buying soda online can get a little pricey.

haha they should make Mountain Dew Burning Crusade

TOMB07 (TOMBOT), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

OMG THEY SHOULD

The Android Cat (Dan Perry), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

I love Tom's least favorite Mountain Dews, and vice versa.

Diet Mountain Dew is really good for a diet drink, but I noticed this week that it's really markedly different from its sugary sibling -- the way Diet Coke isn't Diet Coca-Cola so much as "a diet cola brought to you by the Coca-Cola Corporation."

Pleasant Plains: I haven't had Australian quote-unquote lemonade, but the San Pellegrino Limonata (which the supermarkets here sell not in the soda aisle but in the organic goods cul-de-sac) has the kind of acidity and lemon flavor that it sounds like you're shooting for, if you were trying lemon juice and club soda. Pricy, about like Orangina, but much less pricy than ordering online.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:50 (nineteen years ago)

The Pelegrino soft drinks are pretty good. Look our for the Chinoto, and the grapefruit flavours. There are two lemon flavours, a sweeter one and a bitter one.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

Man, the Chinoto is gooooood. That's hard to find, though, one of the ones I actually have thought of buying online.

Tep (ktepi), Thursday, 11 January 2007 22:55 (nineteen years ago)

Thanks, y'all.

I was on an airplane recently, trying to stay awake, and I asked the stewardess for a Mountain Dew or Mello Yello or something. She gave me a Sierra Mist, a drink that is caffine-free. Great.

(I would've asked for coffee, but it was already pretty warm in that flying tube.)

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 11 January 2007 23:17 (nineteen years ago)

Sierra Mist is more like Sprite or Fresca!!!!

roc u like a § (ex machina), Friday, 12 January 2007 14:30 (nineteen years ago)

Sierra Mist is nothing like Fresca

TOMB07 (TOMBOT), Friday, 12 January 2007 14:34 (nineteen years ago)
