It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Chill, peeps. I'm no one's sock puppet. I watched an ep of the show because I'd heard that it was really good, and I found myself underwhelmed. These things happen. I'll give it another shot if I ever happen to find it again.

For what it's worth, I'm a fan of Fringe, Supernatural, House (barely, at this point), and much of the Science and Discovery channels. Just by way of comparison.

Oh... and I think 30 Rock is pretty funny, but I never really got Seinfeld.

Hey Jude, you should watch another episode or two, this show is hilarious. I'll suggest you start with the Gang Solves the Gas Crisis.

You know what's weird and has gone unmentioned in this thread? That FRED SAVAGE has directed the most episodes. Who knew?

I dislike the Boyle family, and like Artemis and shenanigans involving Mac and Charlie's moms, so this season has been good to me so far, as far as guest characters go.

i'd never heard of this show and thought this was some balkanised philadelphia thread but then i finally read it and now i've ordered it off amazon because i trust you about jokes, ilx.

I would almost suggest skipping the pre-devito years altogether, even though there are some funny episodes.

It's different in tone, and it actually took a while for them to sync well with him when he first showed up in season two. I was about to say there were a couple must-see episodes in the first season, but after reading the synopsis list, I think ALL of the first season is worth watching and you're just wrong.

i'll start at the beginning and if i'm a bit disappointed i'll stick with it until devito.

i started by randomly dropping in on the current season and wow. i have been thinking about watching back seasons.

I've also randomly started to watch the current season and will have to watch the whole thing starting at the beginning. Sadly Hulu only has the latest season and a few from 2 and 3 for some reason?

Basically even if I don't think an episode is funny right away I find myself thinking about it and losing my shit thinking about it over the following week.

I think each season has been pretty consistently good/great. There was a little transition time in getting Devito to fit in during S2, but he seems so perfect for the role right now. Comedy Central is going to run the old episodes in syndication next year, so that would probably be the easiest way to catch up if you don't do torrenting and such.

Man, am I out of it or what? I thought this was a new show this fall. LOL

I like how Devito is kind of relishing his role as a sleazeball. Like ehrn he says, "Let me ROAST this BONE" or "She'll know I have a MONSTER DAHHHNG"

lol just saw this while rewatching old lost! he was guarding the place where they were clockwork oranging carl (karl?).

McElhenney said that 50 weeks of each year are consumed by acting, producing, and writing for the show, but he did find time to appear in the third season of the television show Lost as Aldo in the seventh episode, "Not in Portland". He is shown reading Stephen Hawking's A Brief History Of Time 22 minutes, 40 seconds into the episode. This was as a result of McElhenney meeting Lost co-creator and executive producer Damon Lindelof. Lindelof is a fan of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and offered to give Rob a small role in an episode. Though Aldo is thought to be deceased, Damon Lindelof revealed that Aldo isn't dead (Lindelof also joked that "No one dies on that fucking show") and may actually appear in a new Lost episode.

Damn, last night's episode, when Charlie and Mac are writing their movie, had me in stitches. Funniest show of the decade I say.

devito's so great. In spite of fighting to make sure i don't be one of those guys who quotes tv shows a lot, but I find myself saying "ENJOY. Your HUMAN. MEAT!" all the time.

the gang puts on a musical or w/e has 2 b the highpoint of this show right? mb not as gloriously h8ful and weird as some other moments but just consistent lolz from every character all episode gleeful selfish insanity perfectly harnessed imo
