Jon considering you work at NYU you should already know the answer to that question.

Allyzay will never stop making pancakes (allyzay), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 16:49 (seventeen years ago) link

I assumed it was NYU since his apartment is right above the Shakespeare book store (which is 1.5 blocks from my office -- working on the park = best ever).

Also the pizza place he works at is at Bleeker and 6th ave I think?

But http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_State_University sez that he goes to Columbia in the movie wtf?

Machibuse '80 (ex machina), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 17:04 (seventeen years ago) link

That's 'cause Columbia is MORE APPROPRIATE FOR SMARTIES j/k.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 17:11 (seventeen years ago) link

Jon, he's clearly attending classes on the Columbia campus. Why he lives way the hell downtown instead of in student housing, I'm not really sure but he's definitely at Columbia. There's a shot of the Alma Mater statue in Spidey 2!

However, the building he is shown outside of post-class talking to his instructor is NOT the building where the actual classroom is located which is totally WTF for me. They don't even HAVE science and engineering classes in the building he's standing outside of, it's all foreign language and liberal arts. Hence why all of my classes were in that building and I know for certain the classroom depicted is way the hell on the opposite side of campus.

... thus there are dinosaurs!

nine months pass...
Crank up the puffery. I think I've seen about twenty different billboard designs now.

two weeks pass...
dug it... definitely better than 2.

Anthony Lane hated it more than Revenge of the Sith. It's hard to tell -- he gets off very few laffs (couldn't be bothered?).

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 02:51 (seventeen years ago) link

i hear anthony lane likes earl gray tea, and is a homosexual

deeznuts, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 02:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Of course, I think I am the only person alive who actually liked Green Goblin I's Power Rangers monster plastic battlesuit.

i didn't mind it really either...i mean how else can you portray a character like that for the big screen?

latebloomer, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 04:09 (seventeen years ago) link

they could have made him look like a real goblin.

have you seen the movie?

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 13:35 (seventeen years ago) link

why bother when you can make unfunny chatbot style posts?? why did you like better than #2, slocki?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:17 (seventeen years ago) link

even though it was just as long as 2 it didn't feel so repetitive and redundant

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:20 (seventeen years ago) link

and it... i dunno, it was a bit of a mess but i found it pretty entertaining overall, save for the emo beatnik buddy love sequence halfway through.

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:21 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm a little concerned about the sheer amount of everything they're trying to cram in tho?? there seems to be a lot of villains esp. if topher grace goes venom?

XPOST EMO BEATNICK BUDDY LOVE SEQUENCE?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:21 (seventeen years ago) link

ya it's really convoluted. but that's ok with me i guess, better that than some lame "peter loses his powers" plot

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:26 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm pretty much psyched now.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:26 (seventeen years ago) link

Slashfic ahoy.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:27 (seventeen years ago) link

Is there any villain cooperation, or is it basically like boss fights in a video game?

nickalicious, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:31 (seventeen years ago) link

surely this can't be better than 2. either way, let's go cgp0rn!

Gukbe, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:34 (seventeen years ago) link

it's very video-gamey but there is some team-up action.

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:43 (seventeen years ago) link

some team-up action.

I just guessed the ending.

chap, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:43 (seventeen years ago) link

harry potter's in it?

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:47 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, it ends with a big quidditch match.

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha!

chap, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

WHY DOES HE HAVE TO DELIVER PIZZA 40 BLOCKS

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:00 (seventeen years ago) link

With great power comes great responsibility!

nickalicious, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:05 (seventeen years ago) link

I am going to see this at midnight on Thursday/Friday. I am an excited dork.

ENBB, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:05 (seventeen years ago) link

sometimes people up in morningside heights want pizza too, you asshole.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:07 (seventeen years ago) link

I'll wait for the Tobey-Topher-Franco NC-17 threeway edition

tobeyleodavidblanenaked.jpg

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:15 (seventeen years ago) link

TOO FAKE

actually Topher-Franco wd be goodnuff. Perhaps if Topher Grace had played Spider-Man, Peter Parker wdn't seem like a whiny stoner?

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:18 (seventeen years ago) link

morbius i think you would like it

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:19 (seventeen years ago) link

just kidding

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:19 (seventeen years ago) link

wait, topher grace DOESN'T seem like a whiny stoner to you? i can never tell when you're just bald-faced lying.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:20 (seventeen years ago) link

Not whiny! Or maybe in TM's defense, that horrible, horrible "oh my, superpowers or The Girl, this is Hamlet for mental 12-year-olds" shit is mostly to blame.

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:22 (seventeen years ago) link

why do you even keep trying to see or discuss movies based on comic books, dude?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:23 (seventeen years ago) link

I wanted to like these movies I really did but I don't think I can even bring myself to watch this one. Venom is like the stupidest comic book plot device ever.

and Topher woulda TOTALLY made a better Peter Parker than Maguire

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:25 (seventeen years ago) link

I like them when they are well done. ie, not this series.

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:26 (seventeen years ago) link

you more of an elektra fan

s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:28 (seventeen years ago) link

which one(s) did you think were well-done, Morbz?

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:32 (seventeen years ago) link

I've found the recent spate of films (was X-Men the beginning...?) totally horrible, with a couple significant exceptions that I'm pretty sure you didn't appreciate, like the Batman movie.

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 16:33 (seventeen years ago) link

(plz don't say the Hulk)
