I liked that Teddy dressed for the occasion.

windy = white, carl = black (polyphonic), Friday, 20 November 2009 23:49 (sixteen years ago)

The Geiss headlines were my favorite part.

ô_o (Nicole), Saturday, 21 November 2009 02:38 (sixteen years ago)

was trying to remember what made me lol so hard and it was teddy ruxpin

ice cr?m, Saturday, 21 November 2009 07:17 (sixteen years ago)

I'm surprised so many thought this one was weak-- I liked it alot. Also Gore's recycled joke was tops.

WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Saturday, 21 November 2009 07:18 (sixteen years ago)

gore was noticeably better than last time he was on - guy was totally thinking, practicing

ice cr?m, Saturday, 21 November 2009 07:20 (sixteen years ago)

teddy ruxpin killed me.

Al Gore was actually pretty good. He very nearly made me laugh.

"We all see the little black boy in the corner, right?"

James Mitchell, Sunday, 22 November 2009 09:26 (sixteen years ago)

"What have children ever done for us?"
"Well they make all our shoes and wallets."

a hoy hoy, Sunday, 22 November 2009 09:52 (sixteen years ago)

Wonder if they're going to introduce a "Lemon and Donaghy attempt to have a baby together" plotline.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 22 November 2009 11:26 (sixteen years ago)

i like the lack of plotline this time around. the new cast member is integrated and comically bountiful, whereas liz adopting a kid felt kinda tacked on and awkward.

also liz throwing her bag into the ceiling was the funniest.

rap band (schlump), Sunday, 22 November 2009 15:52 (sixteen years ago)

whereas liz adopting a kid felt kinda tacked on and awkward.

as did the whole Milton Green storyline which they conveniently forgot about.

Pedro Paramore (jim), Sunday, 22 November 2009 16:44 (sixteen years ago)

Just noticed that when Jack is talking to THE PROBLEM SOLVERS and Jenna says "Are you as turned on as I am?", Tracy is nodding his head. :)

trivial pursuit the movie!

9-1 never forget (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 22 November 2009 18:18 (sixteen years ago)

I hope that's a reference to the Monopoly movie.

"...but i can't because i've got this little d-bag here"
"i know what that means"
"and YET you won't tell me"

wasn't there something else where he attributed a Godfather quote to Don Geiss with a copyright date the year before? I have to watch the episode again...

I liked the "Jack's going to tell you what to do next" throw from the aerobics video.

Someone tell me about this "sun tea" system. I am curious.

Leee, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 02:56 (sixteen years ago)

it just occurred to me that there's no jewish characters on this show. kind of odd considering it's a new york comedy abotu the entertainment biz, no?

311 is a joek (s1ocki), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:22 (sixteen years ago)

hornburger?

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:24 (sixteen years ago)

how do you know there are no jewish characters on the show?

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:24 (sixteen years ago)

(n/a: i think he's a jew!)

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:27 (sixteen years ago)

Hey man, where did you learn all these Jewish words?
My manager Harvey Levin!

Mordy, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:27 (sixteen years ago)

tracy is jewish--werewolf bar mitzvah

la monte jung (cutty), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:28 (sixteen years ago)

but yeah now that slocks mentions it, i can't think of anyone? there are plenty of lol ny jewish jokes, though, is the thing

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:29 (sixteen years ago)

Also, Jack's dad (and presumably then Jack to some degree) is Jewish.

Mordy, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:30 (sixteen years ago)

...also it seems like half the jew jokes made are "haha they run the entertainment industry" and yet are nowhere to be seen, which maybe makes them funnier? like they're mentioned as lawyers/agents but never overtly present?

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:33 (sixteen years ago)

have you ever laughed at that "joke"

311 is a joek (s1ocki), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:38 (sixteen years ago)

no, not really

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:39 (sixteen years ago)

i mean basically i agree with you? i think it's slightly weird that there are no jewish characters and yet the show IS peppered with rabbi/agent/bar mitzvah/ny jokes. was just wondering if that was ~intentional~

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:41 (sixteen years ago)

I have! I laughed for like 2 minutes at Fey's, "Why don't you save us the time and just say Jew" joke.

Mordy, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 15:42 (sixteen years ago)

oy fey

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 17:02 (sixteen years ago)

i know you're listing people by their character names but it feels weird to me that you saw Alec Baldwin somewhere but just said you saw "Jack"

Is it on this week?

James Mitchell, Thursday, 26 November 2009 08:23 (sixteen years ago)

http://nymag.com/movies/features/62376/ article posted on the community thread w/ donald glover, one of the former writers.

You wrote a lot for Tracy Morgan’s character. How was that?
The first day I met him, I had a small Afro, and he was like, “You know, if you want to get dreads, you should get your girl pregnant and put the placenta in your hair.” And I was like, “What the fuck … are you talking about?” But from that point on, I thought, Any brain that can make that up needs to be studied.
