straight people going to gay bars/clubs: is this bullshit?

On the weekend, an overly solicitous salesman in a gayish swimwear store was giving me a lengthy sales pitch when suddenly he stopped, indicated a particularly fruity pair of speedos, and said, "Can I tell you something serious? Straight men buy these now. They go to Arc (trashy gay nightclub) because they like the music and they like to have their back licked by men, but they won't have sex with you. They're not gay for sex." This rant went forever and became more and more clearly about one particular dude who had refused to sleep with the salesmen, ending with, "And he has a wife. She knows all about it." Did not seem like a good time to tell him I have girlfriend.

So does that straight man wear the speedos to the club? That would make it a lot easier for people to lick his back, if he was just wearing speedos.
