i know i'm one of the only people on ilx who watches *how i met your mother* on a regular basis, but did anyone else see the robin sparkles episode? where robin didn't want people to know that she had

yeah the stakeout and "legend WAIT FOR IT...s of the fall, legends of the fall" were great but it was definitely subpar for me, although a lot of that was just cringing at them totally going for it with NPH in fat makeup.

they seem to kind of change relationships once every season but maybe they saw that there wasn't that much fuel in the barney/robin thing after all. although marshall and lily only stayed broken up for like half a season so nvm.

some dude, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 18:45 (sixteen years ago)

marshall and lily have tons of chemistry, but barney and robin have pretty much none, hate to say

the fat suit stuff was kind of lame, but lily's kraken plan was really amusing. i'm kind of glad they did this, though, to end the generic sitcom couple plots - that they cut it off so early probably means they realized it just wasn't working, as you say

Nhex, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 18:56 (sixteen years ago)

I thought it was dumb for the writers to put Barney and Robin together and then have them act like a conventional couple, so I'm glad it's over.

tonight's episode in the uk featured Winnie Cooper and Audrey from Dawson's Creek...

koogs, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 20:02 (sixteen years ago)

tricycle ep, right? that was ok, but it's always nice to see those two. and she is Kim Kelly from Freaks and Geeks!

Nhex, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 20:05 (sixteen years ago)

cbs seems to be delaying putting the full episodes up on their site by a week now. lame.

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 20:08 (sixteen years ago)

oh, i just assumed they weren't doing it at all after the first few episodes. now i can catch up.

It was kind of weird seeing Susan Sarandon Jr. with her top on.

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 14:36 (sixteen years ago)

After the airing of this episode, "Lorenzo von Matterhorn" (one of Barney's playbook aliases) became the most common Google search for the day of November 16, 2009

mizzell, Tuesday, 17 November 2009 14:56 (sixteen years ago)

oh man, yesterday that was a page dedicated to how big Lorenzo's penis was, and how he floated down a river as a baby and was adopted, and references to how the river & adoption was in Milan probably contributed to his excellent sense of style.. Too bad it's gone!

Great episode, the mozart music during the intertitles was a good touch I thought.

I wonder if they'll do something special for the 100th episode that's coming up. It struck me the other day that CBS rarely if ever does the extended hour long sitcom specials that NBC does.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 17 November 2009 18:14 (sixteen years ago)

It's supposed to be a musical, I think? I hope Jason Segel gets to do a dracula song.

ô_o (Nicole), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 19:03 (sixteen years ago)

last 5 minutes of tonight's episode were most excellent. also the convienence store man's widow crying.

shocked they didn't milk that ted "i love you" gag, that was great

Nhex, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 09:02 (sixteen years ago)

The ILY gag almost got me, it really felt like one of Ted's dramatic/romantic declarations for a second.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 18:28 (sixteen years ago)

brittney and sarah chalke just then. nice episode, i am a sucker for ted's concept dates (see also 'drumroll please')

koogs, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 20:07 (sixteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

is this the first time we've seen ted's kids this season?

love marshall's time-traveling adventures.

Roz, Tuesday, 15 December 2009 10:24 (sixteen years ago)

surprised they did it two weeks in a row. i loved the post-credits thing in both episodes

Nhex, Tuesday, 15 December 2009 17:25 (sixteen years ago)

lilly's voice was an easy joke but done to perfection. also the chair cameraman a+

"can´t you be just normal?? be normal just once!" (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 15 December 2009 17:29 (sixteen years ago)

I also enjoyed seeing the kids again.

Also really like "the window" episode from last week. I feel a lot of people know someone like the Maggie character in their life.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 15 December 2009 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

loved lily's voice but was so annoyed that the joke was spoiled by the capsule description on my cable system.

that was the best episode of the season so far imo. wish they showed the kids more often, would smash ted's future daughter.

james cameron gargameled my boner for life (Pancakes Hackman), Tuesday, 15 December 2009 18:15 (sixteen years ago)

I try to pull myself back from being too much a grouch about this show, how this season's not too great, too many generic sitcom plots, and so on. But now I suddenly realize Slate does it EVERY WEEK!

Nhex, Wednesday, 16 December 2009 02:15 (sixteen years ago)

Ugh, that gave me bad Television Without Pity flashbacks.

three weeks pass...

well that was worth it!

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 03:06 (sixteen years ago)

i missed it!

scott seward, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 03:27 (sixteen years ago)

i had actual real life humans over and we were "talking" and stuff! i did see big bang theory thank god. best episode ever!

scott seward, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 03:29 (sixteen years ago)

now you're just trolling

Nhex, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 05:17 (sixteen years ago)

i did see big bang theory thank god

With Danica "Winnie Cooper" McKellar!

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Tuesday, 12 January 2010 10:47 (sixteen years ago)

yeah that would totally be wilco-fan teds fave 'underground' cd

max, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 11:06 (sixteen years ago)

Loved the throwaway joke with Ted imagining himself having a house in Westchester with three dogs named Frank, Lloyd, and Wright.

Danica McKellar has been on HIMYM twice, would be great to see her on TV more.

Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 15:28 (sixteen years ago)

Isn't her day job being the hottest mathmetician in the history of numbers doe?

Body Butter (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 12 January 2010 15:40 (sixteen years ago)

Rewatching the musical number, I have to say the song is really great and NPH sung the hell out of it. I would totally buy a soundtrack to this show.

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 13 January 2010 02:54 (sixteen years ago)

He did a great job with it, but it just made me want a Dr. Horrible sequel instead of watching Ted rhapsodize about the Unicorns.

ô_o (Nicole), Wednesday, 13 January 2010 03:08 (sixteen years ago)

Great part from last night's: Lily calmly taking off her earings as Peet apologizes towards the end, preparing for the beatdown. Also nice to not see Robin misused or awkwardly shamed for an episode!

Nhex, Tuesday, 19 January 2010 14:55 (sixteen years ago)

last night?

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Tuesday, 19 January 2010 15:02 (sixteen years ago)

sir ilx-a-lot (cutty), Tuesday, 19 January 2010 15:02 (sixteen years ago)
