Alan Sepinwall of the normally OTM http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/ and the commenters also sounding the death knell of the show, but yeah, AV Club was particularly dire. Most of them hate Jenna so they are imo worse than Nazis.

Anyone sounding the death knell of this show is just being a contrary retard. This ep in particular was spectacular.

Kathy Geiss was a Susan Boyle ref, right? Loved that they brought her back for that.

All the commenters on the AV Club article hate the Cisco plug, but as a necessary evil I thought it came off pretty well, especially Jonathan's apologetic "it's almost as good as being there!" Anyway, it was light years better than the product placement on 24, where the President kept going back to the "Cisco Telepresence Suite" to take threatening calls from terrorists or whatever.

No love for the "Line?" "Lines!" "Lines." line?

it really got me perfectly too... like i was expecting it to be a joke, but i never saw "gottfried" coming after the "gilbert"

Don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but Brian Williams was amazing.

he was really funny on 'wait, wait...' a few weeks ago, too!

I don't think it's been as strong as the parts of other seasons -- it's been good to pretty good thus far, which is how I think that season 3 began too before it went to next level -- but saying that the show needs to be put down is internet idiocy at its finest.

the backlash argument seems to be that theyre leaning too hard on stando comedy tropes like the audition montage - its a legit criticism but ultimately doesnt really matter cause the shoe is still so funnay

Maybe they are just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
