Looks like I need to watch some Freaks & Geeks and 30 Rock, never seen a second of either.

so this was fun guys...

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:37 (sixteen years ago)

be honest tho, how true is this statement: 24 peaked halfway through season 1

i got really excited when they brought lou diamond-phillips in but then they failed to seal the deal with emilio estevez

so this was fun guys...

it was, t/y

modescalator (blueski), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:39 (sixteen years ago)

be honest tho, how true is this statement: 24 peaked halfway through season 1 - pretty OTM. There was one season, 4 or 5 maybe, that I preferred. I tend to like that show best when it is at its most ridiculous, tho.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:39 (sixteen years ago)

That Omar scene is fucking amazing. Only one of several characters on The Wire that I full-on LOVED.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:40 (sixteen years ago)

Jack parachuting out of plane about to nuke and then being forced to shoot Chapelle the head of division in the back of the head was also A+

modescalator (blueski), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:41 (sixteen years ago)

The Wire, obviously, is the greatest thing ever but still, 19 #1 votes is ridiculous. I kept being so tempted during the voting process to type: ok people you can all stop voting for it now, it won like 3 days in, give something else a chance.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:41 (sixteen years ago)

I liked season 2 of 24 best, as it was the first one I watched. Season 5 was pretty great as well - evil president! But it's too ridiculous a show to be in serious contention.

OK Abacus (chap), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

yeah great job sam! i will start with the wire season 1 tomorrow then...

sonderangerbot, Friday, 6 November 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

Was thinking on the train home: Dookie's character arc on season 4 of The Wire might be the most profoundly sad thing I've ever watched on TV. It just broke my fucking heart. And the fact that it wasn't even the slightest bit unrealistic and is probably more common than I'd care to think about makes it all the more sad.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

journey > destination

modescalator (blueski), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

thought season 2 was the best, but it says a lot it also featured elisha cuthbert being chased by a cougar into kevin dillon's shack. couldn't even be bothered to finish the last three seasons, though i did get at least halfway through each of them.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

it finished TWO THOUSAND points above #2. That is more points than the show darraghmac thought would win got.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:43 (sixteen years ago)

24 came joint 71st btw.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:43 (sixteen years ago)

(Not much of a spoiler, there, folks who haven't watched The Wire. I'd say most of the characters have really sad arcs.)

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:43 (sixteen years ago)

SNL 66th.
American Idol joint 60th.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:44 (sixteen years ago)

Don't know where wingnut torture apologists stand on Lost, tho. - They stand with Sayid.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:44 (sixteen years ago)

Maybe not. He is a former Iraqi soldier, after all.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)

Was I the only person who voted for Samurai Jack?

OK Abacus (chap), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)

a sound thrashing by The Wire indeed. Awesome work Samuel, I hope you'll be putting this on your CV. And now off to bed with me.

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)

Lost is for nerds, 24 isn't.

Jonah Goldberg disagrees.

President Keyes, Friday, 6 November 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)

I am pleased to say that I correctly predicted every single top ten show! I'm feeling very self-satisfied right now. Even though it was pretty much a no-brainer once we'd cleared 20-11.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:46 (sixteen years ago)

Where did The Shield rank, Samuel? Thx for doing this, btw. Awesome job & all of that.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:46 (sixteen years ago)

I think it's kinda hilarious that the post-poll wrapup discussion is all about 24.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:46 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, Samuel. You are obvs the hero of the week for all of your hard work. Many, many thanks. Most fun I've had on an ILX thread in some time.

I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Friday, 6 November 2009 00:47 (sixteen years ago)

thanks samuel, this was a lot of fun!

Was I the only person who voted for Samurai Jack?

Nope, I did too. A thing of beauty that was. Look forward to my bitching about this on the inevitable post-poll thread

Nhex, Friday, 6 November 2009 00:47 (sixteen years ago)
