be honest tho, how true is this statement: 24 peaked halfway through season 1 - pretty OTM. There was one season, 4 or 5 maybe, that I preferred. I tend to like that show best when it is at its most ridiculous, tho.

That Omar scene is fucking amazing. Only one of several characters on The Wire that I full-on LOVED.

Jack parachuting out of plane about to nuke and then being forced to shoot Chapelle the head of division in the back of the head was also A+

The Wire, obviously, is the greatest thing ever but still, 19 #1 votes is ridiculous. I kept being so tempted during the voting process to type: ok people you can all stop voting for it now, it won like 3 days in, give something else a chance.

I liked season 2 of 24 best, as it was the first one I watched. Season 5 was pretty great as well - evil president! But it's too ridiculous a show to be in serious contention.

Was thinking on the train home: Dookie's character arc on season 4 of The Wire might be the most profoundly sad thing I've ever watched on TV. It just broke my fucking heart. And the fact that it wasn't even the slightest bit unrealistic and is probably more common than I'd care to think about makes it all the more sad.

thought season 2 was the best, but it says a lot it also featured elisha cuthbert being chased by a cougar into kevin dillon's shack. couldn't even be bothered to finish the last three seasons, though i did get at least halfway through each of them.

it finished TWO THOUSAND points above #2. That is more points than the show darraghmac thought would win got.

24 came joint 71st btw.

(Not much of a spoiler, there, folks who haven't watched The Wire. I'd say most of the characters have really sad arcs.)
