lower than expected...

musically, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:33 (sixteen years ago)

oooh, whats the radical alternative?

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:33 (sixteen years ago)

wow. much lower than i expected.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:33 (sixteen years ago)

not as low as Paulie and Christopher sunk to that frosty night

modescalator (blueski), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:34 (sixteen years ago)

Aye, thought that was a lock for second behind the Wire.

ailsa, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:34 (sixteen years ago)

Curb is STILL the funniest thing on right now, imo. Pretty impressive when you consider that it is into its 7th season.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

should i have not stopped after season 4? i'm kinda tempted to go back sometimes, but ehhh, i have this feeling after seeing Wire and Deadwood it's still going to disappoint

Nhex, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

talkin' bout sopranos of course

Nhex, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

huh. thats an odd low placing right there for the sopranos

PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

man i dont wanna be kevvie downer or anything but rushing this all in 15 minute intervals kills all the fun of discussing the shows gilmore girls as each is revealed

k3vin k., Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:36 (sixteen years ago)

I dig later Sopranos. I liked The Test Dream.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:36 (sixteen years ago)

Best season ending was series 3 (although series 6 ending was good - ahhhh...)

PC Thug (Ned Trifle II), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:36 (sixteen years ago)

this quote from Chase on the Sopranos final scene

"They had gleefully watched him rob, kill, pillage, lie, and cheat. They had cheered him on. And then, all of a sudden, they wanted to see him punished for all that. They wanted 'justice.' They wanted to see his brains splattered on the wall. I thought that was disgusting, frankly. [...] The pathetic thing—to me—was how much they wanted his blood, after cheering him on for eight years.

still bugs me a lot

modescalator (blueski), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:36 (sixteen years ago)

Pine Barrons episode was the best episode of anything on this list, bar Buffy's The Body imo. Not that that was enough to make me vote for Tony.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:36 (sixteen years ago)

I want to talk about Curb some more!

PC Thug (Ned Trifle II), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:37 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I think Sopranos (relatively) low placing could easily be due to its losing momentum in the last two or three seasons.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:37 (sixteen years ago)

(although I have nothing new to say on the subject)

PC Thug (Ned Trifle II), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:37 (sixteen years ago)

xp

PC Thug (Ned Trifle II), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:37 (sixteen years ago)

kev: i could go slower but a) i will eventually get sleepy and b) ilx most probably going to be talking about the list tomorrow as well anyway and c) bar possibly a surprise or two, its not like people haven't already kind of possibly figured it out and d) when the wire doesn't place, i want to get out as quickly as possible before being 51d.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:38 (sixteen years ago)

i can go to 20 minutes maybe? 8x20=going to bed at about 2ish.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:39 (sixteen years ago)

15mx9=2 hours and 15 minutes=i'm sure you'll be fine, d.

Yeah, meanwhile, I'm leaving work in a little over an hour and going out to meet someone for drinks. But whatever.

man i dont wanna be kevvie downer or anything but rushing this all in 15 minute intervals kills all the fun of discussing the shows as each is revealed

Yep.

jaymc, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:41 (sixteen years ago)

too late now guys. past the point of no return.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:42 (sixteen years ago)

yeah because you won't be able to discuss them tomorrow or at any time in the future

TGAAPQ (Mr. Que), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:43 (sixteen years ago)

i guess i should have waited till tomorrow but when i revealed 20 earlier there was 47 people on ilx. now there is roughly double that, so you assume more conversation has to be generated, right? even if half of it is people getting annoyed at me.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:43 (sixteen years ago)

what about 16.7 minutes? 18.9?

are we really worried about not having enough time on this site to discuss subjects like "the wire" and "mad men"?

iatee, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:44 (sixteen years ago)

people are going to complain no matter what you do, Samuel. Do whatever feels right

TGAAPQ (Mr. Que), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:44 (sixteen years ago)

people obviously showing how much they wanna talk about the two shows just revealed...

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:44 (sixteen years ago)

There's just enough time by spacing it out 15-20 minutes for the shocks and shrugs and the fun of guessing. Tomorrow should be allocated as the day where we discuss why our picks were racist/misogynist/homophobic et al

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:45 (sixteen years ago)

Someday, maybe I will finish watching my Sopranos S1 DVDs.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:46 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, sorry for being brusque. I think I just like the idea of 10 a day, with Friday as the big reveal. But ultimately it's not that big of a deal.

jaymc, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:48 (sixteen years ago)

still need one more surprise in here to force mad men out CMON LUCK

PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:48 (sixteen years ago)

TGAAPQ (Mr. Que), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:49 (sixteen years ago)

waht xpost

PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:49 (sixteen years ago)

since things are winding down, can we post our ballots. or lists or whatever. is that legal. you can see how many shows i voted for that never had a chance.

scott seward, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:49 (sixteen years ago)

mad men beating lost = ilx voters like being bored

PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:50 (sixteen years ago)

now if mad men beats the wire..

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:51 (sixteen years ago)

Drag Me to Hull (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:51 (sixteen years ago)

sarahel, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:51 (sixteen years ago)

i'm gonna watch all of mad men someday. and all of friday night lights too. and all of the wire. and all of deadwood. when i'm old. and in the home.

scott seward, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:52 (sixteen years ago)

if mad men beats the wire ilx will prob explode

PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:52 (sixteen years ago)

Lost my #2 but probably should've been my #1 considering its the only show i've seen every episode of before UK broadcast. Nothing else to say that hasn't already been said I guess. Can't fucking wait for the final season (inc more moaning about stupid Kate and Jack no doubt).

modescalator (blueski), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:52 (sixteen years ago)

I just bought Dudu and Lost sucks.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:53 (sixteen years ago)

speaking of shows that lost momentum...I don't remember when I stopped watching Lost but at one point I just had to quit. I have heard that it improved but it seemed to me at that point like the writers were just employing some sort of ponzi plot scheme, resolving crazy plot lines by throwing in even crazier twists.

musically, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:53 (sixteen years ago)

i watched every single episode of lost and then i missed the finale last year cuz i wasn't home and i still haven't watched it. i think i just start to get bored after three years of ANYTHING these days.

scott seward, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:54 (sixteen years ago)

I got three years in then just realised I really didn't care any more.

ailsa, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:54 (sixteen years ago)

i was pretty sure that lost was going to be in the number three spot TBH (edged out by arrested development and the wire)

xxxpost see i think that lost has actually been better for the last 2 seasons than any of the early ones

PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:55 (sixteen years ago)

some of the whammys on Press Your Luck were really funny.

sarahel, Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:55 (sixteen years ago)

I was ready to give up on Lost at some point in the third season, but I'm glad I stuck around, as it did improve drastically.

you just freaked out more than our director of lols (Pillbox), Thursday, 5 November 2009 22:55 (sixteen years ago)

I fear for the last season, tho, tbh.
