yeah it is annoying how many of my friends facebook asserts want me to add wanky new applications. i thought i picked smarter friends.

can someone explain to me the point of 'poking'? It doesn't seem to have any function?

i only poke when poked; rather than being a means to acknowledge another's presence, it seems to be more a means to remind another of one's own presence. i.e. ppl be attention-seekin'/horny

i don't really get the point of the aquariums and gifts an superpokes and whatnot either. actually I'm struggling a bit with the point of facebook itself. perhaps all of my confusion can be explained by me joining the 'unlike 99.99% of users I was born in the 70s' group.

also no one has suggested horniness to me! The only people who poke me are female friends who I've known for years at a stretch. Don't tell me I'm being rejected on yet another interface...

my friend's 30 next week and there's gonna be a lot more people from school there thanks to facebook.

won't know if this is good or bad til after the party but will be nice to see some if not all of them i think.

i think the point of poking is it allows whoever you poked to see your profile page for a week; i guess it's kinda giving people who you want to friend a chance to friend you first - and save you the humiliation of rejection if you friend them and they deny you (well, that's what i've used it for)
