Respectively, bite it. I am as big a Simpsons RIP nostalgist as you'll find, but there are like, FIVE episodes that are awesome and warrant affection to the point of voting for the series on another stupid ILX poll.

Some wires got crossed in my brain -- a bunch of 1998 and 1999 episodes stood out in my mind, but yeah, those six (SIX) are worth tracking down, and BABF22 even has the heart (HEART) of the showe of auld.

what is it about those six eps that make the entire ten years of the rest of it one of the forty best shows of the decade?

They don't, I voted for it in a lifetime-achievement way, but hey I also voted for Sports Night too even though it had ~3 months of episodes in the '00s.

Absolute rubbish. This is turning out to be as bad an idea as I suspected.

I think the Simpsons deserves its place. Of course in the 00s it's been a shadow of its former self but when at its very occasional best it's still sharper than most. Maybe an honourable mention / lifetime achivement award would have been deserved instead? idk.

The Inbetweeners I've seen a single episode of (the "bus wankers" episode) and thought it was absolute toss. That being said, it's enjoyed by some of ilx's finest minds so maybe it deserves a second chance.

The Ali G Show.... probably deserves its place. Wouldn't watch it now and sendup style TV feels very 90s/Chris Morris but I enjoyed it at the time.

Ali G- Someone made the comment about early 00's and not seeming funny now, which is pretty much what I'd go with.

QI- yeah this is consistently funny, if this and HIGNFY are the only two british panel shows that's a result.

Simpsons- still better than most of what's on tv, stop frontin everyone.

Wonder Showzen- I've caught a few of these, and lolled.

it should. its only like 10 episodes, ala proper british telly, so it is all high quality and no filler.

So I'm told. Unfortunately it's hard for me to imagine that something capable of being quite that terrible could possibly come anywhere close to "hilarious". Like trying to get my head round infinity.

I too would like to know of standout 00s Simpsons eps. Never really hear talk of particular episodes or moments from the last ten years, just the usual 'just a little airborne/still better than most of what's on tv' vagueness. I'm glad it came in this low.

I think it's going to be on five or something. Checkout Sidereel they might still have some links to episodes. Actually I might still have them on my computer at home - I'll check later. It really is very good tv and what deric said upthread about the whole cast meshing together is right. Also it's got Jane Lynch in it.

The Class was pretty good but suffered from cast and network shenanigans, and overracting.
