Ali G also had unfunny MOVIE SUPERSTARS Borat and Bruno.

pretty happy that an awesome show that aired its first 10 episodes just a few months ago managed to place
― retrunofthaghmac (some dude), Monday, 2 November 2009 18:50 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah Party Down is great.
― a hoy hoy, Monday, 2 November 2009 18:51 (sixteen years ago)
oh right that's Party Down, have to check that out
― sonderangerbot, Monday, 2 November 2009 18:52 (sixteen years ago)
Never heard of it before, enjoyed that clip though.
― OK Abacus (chap), Monday, 2 November 2009 18:56 (sixteen years ago)
you should!

Is QI just a chat show or is there more to it?
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:00 (sixteen years ago)
Basically it is a panel show where comedians try and be interesting. Sometimes its funny, sometimes you want to punch Jimmy Carr/Alan Davies/Jeremy Clarkson/Jo Brand in the cock.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:03 (sixteen years ago)
QI is a weird british beast, the panel entertainment show; kind of like hollywood squares or what's my line with no member of the great unwashed trying to win prizes.

try *to* be
I really should learn how to use the English language properly.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:04 (sixteen years ago)
One of my nominees, at last! Party Down is gifted with an awesome ensemble of people who mesh well together, first of all. That seems to be a necessary staple of all solid comedy shows. Secondly, it's one of only a small handful of comedy shows that have successfully pulled off the 'laffs & pathos' formula perfected by the UK Office. Which might just be my ideal comic formula.
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:07 (sixteen years ago)
QI??? Jesus Christ people.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force??? Jesus Christ people.
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:12 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, as a britisher I don't get aqua teen. as i said on t'other thread, adult swim ruined danger doom and thus i never bothered to give a fuck after.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:14 (sixteen years ago)
As a human being, I don't get ATHF. I feel like I've seen enough of it to make a judgment. It's occasionally amusing, but that's gonna happen when you've constructed a show that consists solely of throwing completely random shit at the wall to see what sticks.
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:16 (sixteen years ago)
Didn't you just describe Family Guy?
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:17 (sixteen years ago)
(Says the guy who voted for another Adult Swim show that is probably more universally hated for doing pretty much the same thing.)
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:18 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, pretty much like Family Guy without the normal, suburban trappings, I guess. Comedy involves judgment and discrimination!
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:20 (sixteen years ago)
Love Breaking Bad Seas. 1: The combination of credible situations and sympathy for the parent, where Weeds increasingly had neither, made it scary-funny. I think it sort of lost me with the standoff with the gangster though, which felt more action-movie-like.
I've enjoyed moments of The Venture Bros, but really, Top 50? This is going to be a weird list.
x-post Let's be honest Danger Doom so-so with or without Master Shake cameos etc.
― Pete Scholtes, Monday, 2 November 2009 19:21 (sixteen years ago)
(Says the guy involved in improv. I'll stop talking now.)
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:21 (sixteen years ago)
Party Down is the best so far - although Inbetweeners a close second. Both have excellent swearing.

43. The Simpsons (15 votes, 1290 points.)http://trueslant.com/michaelsalmonowicz/files/2009/10/TheSimpsons.jpghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSvva3ZOlNg
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:25 (sixteen years ago)
Simpsons making this list is incredibly wrong btw.
As the huuuuugest fan of The Simpsons in the '90s, I agree wholeheartedly.
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:26 (sixteen years ago)
tbh i'm happy to see it here even if i didn't vote for it, for all the crap it's aired the last 10 years it's also probably given me as many laughs as a lot of the shows i did vote for among the better episodes.
― retrunofthaghmac (some dude), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:27 (sixteen years ago)
EXACKLY
― Drag Me to Hull (Noodle Vague), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:28 (sixteen years ago)
42/41 is the only tie on the list. Picking 41 above 42 because it has more #1 votes.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:29 (sixteen years ago)
Well, in a bit anyway.
I dunno, I cannot think a show that has disappointed me more and made me sit through multiple half hours when I thought "this fucking sucks." Well, except Family Guy but that never used to be the greatest tv ever, so I let it off.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:30 (sixteen years ago)
are these the results of some other thread i don't know about or do u really have a bunch of unopened boxsets lying around
― luol deng (am0n), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:32 (sixteen years ago)
Mean-spirited Simpsons is funnier than life-lessons Simpsons. That's not the only criterion for something being good, but I'm just sayin'.
― Drag Me to Hull (Noodle Vague), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:32 (sixteen years ago)
I presume people actually watched the shows they voted for here Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiit! It's the ILX Decade-End TV Poll!!!!!
I just stole the name from... darraghmac I think.

42. Angel (9 votes, 1310 votes.)http://www.buffyworld.com/graphics/angel_collectors_set_usa_large.jpghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqksKXdOljU
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:37 (sixteen years ago)
As much as I want to hate Whedon, I am really glad Angel made it. Between the puppet episode and Lorne the gay karoake demon, it did provide many a LOL.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:40 (sixteen years ago)
Venture Bros is so great.
― Mordy, Monday, 2 November 2009 19:51 (sixteen years ago)
A second of my nominees! Huzzah!
Buffy was a better show, but Angel was epic. The larger part of the series hung together as one massive, apocalyptic storyline. Worth watching for Wesley's progression alone.
― I HEART CREEPY MENS (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:54 (sixteen years ago)
Puppets? clearly i have no idea what Angel is about.

Gilmore Girls was my #1 btw.
Yeah, there was an episode of Angel with evil puppets. It was ridiculously great.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:57 (sixteen years ago)
btw my #1 vote for the Venture Brothers was not strategic, I really do think its the best show of the decade
― PHEAR MY POORAPULT (jjjusten), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:59 (sixteen years ago)
If Gilmore Girls places, can you use this post as a blurb?
i find it admirable that the show is far more concerned with the characters' reactions to or emotions resulting from significant events and how they affects pre-existing relationships more than the events themselves. think about lorelai and max splitting up & rory and jess getting into a car accident, which i'd say are the two most important events of the show (as far as i am, which is near the end of S2). neither of these events are actually shown to us on screen! depicting these would not only be superfluous but run the risk of being insipid - the way lorelai reacts to ending her engagement with max, or the way jess' crash and subsequent town-wide vilification makes rory re-evaluate her feelings for him and relationship with dean is far more interesting to me.

― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 20:01 (sixteen years ago)
this is great. i'm gonna use this thread as my 'stuff to watch' list for the next few months, as i'm not up to speed on hardly any of it. angel can fuck right off tho.
― antastic mr ox (darraghmac), Monday, 2 November 2009 20:02 (sixteen years ago)
Kev hitting the nail on the head there. But also, it is wickedly funny and I found myself caring for the characters even more than any show this decade. Only the kids in the Wire came close.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 20:04 (sixteen years ago)
Gilmore Girls is the sort of show that I would only watch if a girl made me watch it, but I would secretly enjoy more than she did.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Monday, 2 November 2009 20:05 (sixteen years ago)
Gilmore Girls looks bloody awful from that clip.
― DavidM, Monday, 2 November 2009 20:07 (sixteen years ago)
Ha. I recommended it to a bunch of friends only to be called an emofagwhatever. And then like 6 months later a bunch came back to me gushing about how much they love gilmore girls.
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 20:08 (sixteen years ago)
Well, that clip was just because ilx likes yo la tengo and sonic youth.
And so on to my last reveal of the day...
― Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 2 November 2009 20:09 (sixteen years ago)
Oh wait, I said I was only going to be doing 51-41 today. You guys can wait.
