i was thinking that the only reason the cerie character is on the show is b/c nbc didn't believe liz or jenna would qualify as "actual conventionally attractive women that men would O_O over" to the stone mountain, georgia demographic, and you can't have a show without that.

i mean jane krakowski is definitely attractive but in a comedic "miss piggy" way.

yeah i think certainly part of her existence is kinda to poke fun at the convention of having a hot girl for dudes to swoon over. i def think she has a role though, and is a good character

also, i'm curious what the overlap is between 30 rock writers and simpsons writers. both shows have that whiff of "harvard comedy writing" pratitude.

I suspect that's the case. If I remember correctly, Jenna was going to be played by Rachel Dratch until the network replaced her at the last minute.

yeah hard to believe now that the whole show was gonna be about rachel dratch. i felt bad about her first season every episode cameo.

i'm not a big dratch fan though. i don't miss her.

tracy's princeton reference made it obv that there's at least some ivy embeddedness. (and toofer fictionalizes the ivy embeddedness in tv comedy writing in general.)

it's just another riff on the now long-running gag where in the show, jenna is found to be really unattractive by guys

"gay" is the key word there, cf "straight"

Jenna as the show's Ms. Piggy is startling accurate, but I don't know if Jenna's ever been able to do the bit where Ms Piggy would drop in her "streetwise business-only" voice: "yeah, Morty, whaddaya got?"

i'm never sure about his star quality since his movies are said to have made like $5 billion
