Too many friends spent today posting the "I will eat a bowl of cherries and some ghost meat in his honor" line as Facebook status updates.

i was going to wait until a random celebrity died to steal that.

I've been liking this season, I guess because it feels more topically on-the-nose in a way that's actually ... exciting. And non-stupid. I'm not sure what makes that difference, but I like it.

I was initially irritated by the casting (and cross-advertising) of Jeff Dunham, but in the end it was like he'd been cast to represent both himself and what's horrible about himself, somehow.

nabisco OTM w/r/t Dunham. His presence was very cringeworthy nonetheless. Like, I literally recoiled just a little when he first popped up.

It felt like this episode was trying too hard (perhaps in contrast to the earlier episodes I've been watching as I rework my way through past seasons' DVDs). Still funny, though, obvs.

Any episode where Lutz, Frank and Twofer get significant screen time usually gets an A, even if it's an A-.

yeah the problem with actually having Dunham there is that no matter how much they were poking fun at him he got to be in on the joke, or at least feel like he was, plus there wasn't ultimately any hilarious payoff to him being there

This show has basically turned into a live Looney Tunes. I'm v v OK with this but wonder if I will miss the plot-heavy stuff (bcuz I liked it in the past see prev. posts itt)

don't be dense, all i meant is that i'd like for 30 Rock to make fun of him without actually having him there to be a part of it and be all humble and pretending to make fun of himself

i had never even heard of this dude before this episode... i figured it was just a riff on ventriloquists in general! but isnt it like, funnier if its the actual guy?

dunham is a v rich & famous comedian whose comedy solely involves praying on his audiences' fear of gays, other races, middle easterners and other foreigners - he's awful & while it was funny to see 30 rock poking fun at him, ship is right that it was kind of lame that he was able to wink wink along with us - he has a new show on comedy central btw
