latebloomer, a 330m gross for a 250m production budget is bad, not good.

Not making this into Secret Wars is a foolish mistake.

Secret Wars must've already happened, because Spider-Man had the black suite in the previous movie.

Anne Hathaway as Black Cat rumors afoot.

For some reason I've never thought about this before, but Black Cat is a total Catwoman copy, isn't she? Not just the name and the costume, but also her profession and her relationship with Peter... I guess it's kinda obvious, but it hadn't crossed my mind before, maybe because back when I was reading Spider-Man and Black Cat was a regular character in it, I didn't know much about DC.

the final franco-maguire team-up was a bit cheese at the end but i loved spider-man 3. peter parker's dark side has jazz hands, god for fucking bid.

The third movie was a pile of shit and I'm still pissed off that I paid real money to see it in IMAX. Did not need to see emo Peter Parker in fucking IMAX. So bad. I hope they don't cast Anne Hathaway, because then I will want to see this one too.

The only thing that Spiderman 3 really failed at was shoehorning in two villains. It should have either done the Venom story or the Sandman story and not tried to do them both, as Venom felt very much tacked onto the side with chewing gum.

i actually loved that dancing scene.

the weird thing is, i think the venom was the villain that got shoehorned-in against Raimi's wishes, yet i liked that subplot and character so much more than the Sandman "I killed your uncle all along it was me!" unnecessary retcon bs

what also killed me was how the Peter/MJ relationship that I liked so much in the first two just went so sour and was dreadful to watch. just didn't feel like the actors were really trying any more, although the script didn't help (too much awful dancing all around)

Well yeah Mysterio would've been incredible for camp. And i still hold out hope for the Vulture as old chickenhawk with his eye on Peter.

(Other names bandied about for the role included Julia Stiles, Rachel McAdams, and Romola Garai.) However, unlike in the comic books, this Felicia Hardy doesn’t transform into the Black Cat. Instead, Raimi’s Felicia will become a brand-new superpowered figure called the Vulturess.

What does this mean for poor Dylan Baker, who’s patiently played Curt Connors in the last two installments? As much as it would seem that the series is setting up his eventual transformation into supervillain the Lizard, we hear that the suits simply can’t bring themselves to sign off on such an odd-looking enemy — instead, they’d rather hew closer to villains with a human face. Perhaps, then, it’s the best-case scenario for Baker: He gets to remain the subject of fanboy interest, but he doesn’t have to cede his role to a motion-captured reptile in a lab coat.
