Marijuana: Classic or Dud?

yeah, I think the hypocrisy pushes people to hyperbolic statements.
I just think that seeing articles like this is at least a step in the right direction. I don't think decriminalization makes smoking any less fun, either, fwiw. I mean, getting drunk is still fun, right?

Ever have the "smoking pot" dream, where you totally get high in your dream? Waking up is more of a comedown than usual, but at least it's fast.

Is there any other drug that you can dream about using and get 100% of the effect in your dream? I don't think I've ever had any "drunk" dreams.

dude, you should try lucid dreaming - you can make up strange alien drugs and try them and have the most intense drug experiences you've ever felt without any negative effects or comedown or hangover or fried synapses. and you can like mix and match, oh, i'll have the euphoria of that one and the visual hallucinations of that one, but without any of the nasty paranoia of either. kinda makes *actual* drugs experiences seem almost a let down by comparison

Actually, in my dream I was smoking pot, being really happy about that, and having a conversation about how cool it is when you dream about getting high. It wasn't quite lucid, but it was certainly meta.

Absolute dud is seeing any loud band when stoned. The minute they start playing I start to think I'm about to fall over and have to go and lean against a wall. Now never smoke before gigs.

I roll MASSIVE joints in my dreams. Like using wallpaper instead of rizlas or something. And usually in the dream I am at school and trying to smuggle my gigantic spliff out to the canal towpath so I can smoke it without getting caught by teachers. This is a recurring dream for some reason.

i smoked a bunch of hash last year when is was in Eur. that seemed to suit me much better.

Just a coupla weeks ago, I dreamt that I tried E for the first time, and waited in vain for it to kick in, which it never did, just gave me a running nose.

for real. i quit smoking altogether for a few years for this very reason.

thinking about laying off for a while but winter break is coming up so probably not.

i think what was said upthread about weed exacerbating already troubled emotions is true. you just gotta find your happy place.

dud for a while. After exams I smoked for 4 days straight... it was probably decent weed since it had a stupid sounding name (bubblegum kush). On the 4th day I was walking around, and could only think things like, "I am the moss on the underside of a rock in the dark part of the forest." Definitely time to quit.

if you can't smoke for 4 days straight without that happening to you, i think the dud is you, not marijuana.

I mean I'm a pretty neurotic/socially-anxious person, and I don't really like being high around strangers or large groups for that reason, but smokin' a bowl by myself or hittin' the bong with a couple bros = all-time 24/7 super-classic

- driving around and thinking about how weird it would be if god decided to change the streets around while people were driving once in their lives and how it would be all fucked up if this was your time and how do you know if you're driving down the right street

morbs fwiw i am opposite when it comes to that! because i'm one of those weirdos that eschews human/social interaction when i get stoned, i also get hypercritical of film and comedy. like a lot of stoneriffic highly visual favs just look gross and fake to me, and idiot comedy becomes grotesque. my ~friends~ get hilarious, but most movies or w/e seem forced. the only movie i can think of that was genuinely "better" on w33d was Jackie Brown, and I think the pacing had a lot to do with it. it's also just a dope-ass movie anyway

I once watched King of Comedy and it freaked me out. So I switched to the Brothers Solomon. I think the thing about watching flicks under the influence is that they make really awful films tolerable. I didn't suddenly think Brothers Solomon was a good movie, but I enjoyed watching it and talking about it. (I did watch House Bunny about a week ago and it was one of the funniest films I've ever seen -- I'm afraid to watch it sober and discover it's not as funny as I thought.)

i understand that this is how most weed-heads operate, but i am the exact opposite. tolerable films become awful. just, like, deeply, deeply awful. directorial missteps, wooden acting, shitty FX, w/e---they all come to the fore and i'm usually revolted. then again, really great (or v v competent/cohesive) films can improve, because i'm willing to trust (for lack of a better word) the experience.

yes having better "judgment" of comedy is preferable to laughing more often
