I need somewhere in London to take geeks for dancing on 9th September. It needs to be cheap and scruffy and play music you can dance to but isn't too hardcore - indie/rock would do - maybe Camden? Should I post this on the Camden thread? I haven't been dancing in London for many, many years.

Zora (Zora), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:36 (nineteen years ago)

for me - TDK on saturday. possibly lost on sunday but have been feeling a tiny bit under the weather this week so it might be unwise, also have not got ticket yet either. monday - picnic and drinking in the park then off to 93 ft east for bank holiday lovelife. followed, maybe, by spontaneous t bar action. tue and wed OFF WORK HURRAH.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:46 (nineteen years ago)

i guess the mulletover part of crosscentral is the best, though cant say im totally overenthused about ellen allien and alex smoke.

garnier/mills at lost is looking a lot more tempting. im kind of otne now

-- (688), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:17 (nineteen years ago)

Dude, whatever you do, don't hold out for Lost and then realise no one's going! Don't let this one pass you by!

I think Druzzis looks better than the Mulletover part, although I'm hoping Optimo/Smagghe will be on earlier than Ellen Allien. Alex Smoke can fuck off. I don't particularly care though, I'm happy just wandering and dancing to whatever sounds best.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:26 (nineteen years ago)

there are people going to Lost i think.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:27 (nineteen years ago)

i assume lost won't sell out? if i go - i really want to but as i said, not really at 100% this week - i'll be relying on tickets on the door

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:29 (nineteen years ago)

yea yea, i know, it was a minor waver you are right about optimo, i forgot about that. druzzis is probably better. i think i thought the mulletover part was going to be more kind of hacke/barnes than it appears to be.

anyway, there is likely to be afterparty action, im sure:)

-- (688), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:31 (nineteen years ago)

G, call me later.

Ed (dali), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

My two cents, drop TDK and Lost. Garnier is hit-and-miss, Mills will bang out loop techno in that dull SEOne venue.

Druzzi's is a good call. Sunday could be the biggest possibly be the biggest party day ever.

im never really sure about these kind of things, but there is a seed records allnighter on oct 21, in a converted cinema in elephants castle

could be good, could be bad, but, as it features soviet,

-- (688), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

this thread is strangely silent about this weekend!

-- (688), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 18:34 (nineteen years ago)

free compilation of stuff related to this night http://www.bleep.com/?label=Soviet

I do keep saying this but, I so wish these kind of line-ups (not just Soviet organised) would include a tiny bit of something lighter on the side (okay maybe this would be Arovane and Cursor Minor here?), it doesn't have to be a completely lame 'chill-out' room, just a little levity. 50% of that line up makes me smile, but the other 50% of yet more possible gnarliness just makes me frown. Anyway, not meaning to judge from afar just annoyed that I don't feel able to really justify a trip to London town for this.

just say no to individuality (fandango), Thursday, 7 September 2006 10:47 (nineteen years ago)

i'm going home this weekend but if anyone's up for action on friday my friend john (aka datassette) (emily's bro) is playing at http://wonktronica.com/ tomorrow...

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 7 September 2006 10:51 (nineteen years ago)

No interest in that Soviet thing at all, sorry.

This weekend = Cansei de Ser Sexy gig at 93ft East on Friday, being good on Saturday due to wedding on Sunday.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 7 September 2006 10:58 (nineteen years ago)

There is old persons' (i.e. indie) dance music at Spiral Scratch on Saturday. I may go to that, if I can find anyone to go with (as is the refrain of my life lately...)

Angel In Love With Her Own Pedals (kate), Thursday, 7 September 2006 10:59 (nineteen years ago)

I could be up for the soviet thing.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 7 September 2006 11:02 (nineteen years ago)

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 5 October 2006 11:04 (nineteen years ago)

I'm looking at Bang Face next friday but I'm open to suggestions.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 5 October 2006 11:05 (nineteen years ago)

i was at stink. minilogue were prog boring. dice and lazarus were good. it was also super busy and hot.

MANDY this weekend.

rchinn (rchinn), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

i was not at stink, as i am coughing my guts up at present. how busy was it? it was half empty last time i went. definitely going next month for mayer/superpitcher, health permitting.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 18:32 (nineteen years ago)

new new wave of new wave new rave (fandango), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 00:14 (nineteen years ago)

t bar next monday, mayer and superpitcher?

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 02:22 (nineteen years ago)

Every time I open this thread I get a little rush of giddy excitement. I haven't been dancing since Cross Central which was nearly three months ago. This must be remedied.

Yes to Ellen Allien. Not sure about that Soulwax Weekender thing because, even though I don't know where it is, it just screams 'hellishly crowded' to me.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 09:45 (nineteen years ago)

Also Zombie Nation album wtf? Is it any good?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 09:46 (nineteen years ago)

Matt it's at Fabric. And I KNOW it'll be hellishly crowded and horrible, but I'm totally smitten with the idea of it! Boo. Stupid crowded Fabric.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 10:18 (nineteen years ago)

I haven't been out dancing for ages (as I've gone indie) so I would be up for Allien.

After the overcrowded no fun disaster of the last Soulwax 'event' I am giving that one a wide berth.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 10:29 (nineteen years ago)

not sure about ellen alien on the 11th now,

because

COCOON records night with... SVEN VATH at The End...

-- (688), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 10:31 (nineteen years ago)

Argh that sounds good as well. Actually, I don't particularly care which one I go to, I'll just follow the group.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 10:37 (nineteen years ago)

SUPERMAYER.

so going. i miss dancing like the deserts miss the rain.

ampersand, hearts, semicolon (cis), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 11:48 (nineteen years ago)

Actually the rest of that Ellen Allien night is quite meh but the 18th looks k-awesome (Craig Richards + Mayer + Ivan Smagghe + Black Strobe).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 11:57 (nineteen years ago)

who else is playing on the allien night?

the 18th does look awesome yes, but fabric two weeks in a row = NO.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 12:01 (nineteen years ago)

yes to t-bar on mon.

ledge (ledge), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 12:04 (nineteen years ago)

Come to the proper techno raving. G, let's make this happen. you have been beyond the greenbridge.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 12:05 (nineteen years ago)

Lex - Craig Richards (again), Konrad Black, Rex The Dog, Rob Da Fucking Bank. You know Ellen Allien is doing a live set with Apparat, and not DJing, right?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 12:21 (nineteen years ago)

yes!

rex the dog and konrad black look awesome. and i've never seen either before!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 12:31 (nineteen years ago)
