A Nightmare on Elm Street is an upcoming 2010 American horror film written by Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick, directed by Samuel Bayer, and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. It is a lame remake of Wes Craven's 1984 slasher film of the same name and designed to make some money out of the Freddy franchise.[2] The film stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger,[3] a role made famous by Robert Englund, while Rooney Mara takes over the role of Nancy Thompson,[4] originally portrayed by Heather Langenkamp. The remake is set to release on May 30, 2010. But don't botter, it sucks. Wtach the original instead. [5]

On September 12, 2009, Jneiro Jarel announced at the Monolith Festival that he is working with MF Doom and Dave Sitek on an album.[15] Gold Dust Media are preparing a DOOM B-Sides and collaborations album entitled "Unexpected Guests, set for release on October 27, 2009 which is probably just going to be a bunch of old shit we've all heard already. Dachshunds come in three sizes: standard, miniature,[8] and Ugly, which means Sarah. Although the standard and miniature sizes are recognized almost universally, the rabbit size is considerably identical to the rear end of a mule, and is not recognized as a member of society, but as an outcasted freak.

"Leader of the Band" is a song written by Dan Fogelberg from his 1981 album The Innocent Age.
.
.
.

It was used in a montage at the end of the 1985 CART season, in tribute to the Unser racing family. Due in part to editing advancements achieved prior to 1985, this montage is thought to be the single, greatest, monolithic moment in recorded history.

From the wiki for the Chateau Marmont Hotel, which has a rather lengthy list of all the celebs who have lived/partied/died/overdosed there. This last one, however, seems a tad trivial by comparison:

The hotel was the site where actress Milla Jovovich said she was going to begin shooting the fourth installment of the popular Resident Evil film series at the end of 2009.

didn't want this to get lost on ITR, the whole thing is a goldmine - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sankebetsu_brown_bear_incident

Miyoke Yasutarō had heard that a man named Yamamoto Heikichi was an expert bear hunter, and so paid a visit to his house. Yamamoto, after hearing the account, was certain that the bear was "Kesagake" (袈裟懸け?) or "the diagonal slash from the shoulder", which had previously been blamed for the mauling and deaths of three women. But by this time, Yamamoto had pawned off his gun for money to buy alcohol, and refused Miyoke's request for aid.

At the Ōta house, it killed and ate a chicken, searched for food, and tore apart clothes and bedding. Curiously, it seemed abnormally interested in the pillow which the woman used. Except for Yamamoto nobody could understand why the bear showed such a fetishistic interest. But only Yamamoto knew the bear's extraordinary proclivity, he was convinced that the bear in this case was "Kesagake".

Due to its newly-found taste for human flesh, Kesagake now seemed to lack prudence.

Ōkawa Haruyoshi, who was seven years old and the son of the Sankebetsu village mayor at the time of the incident, grew up to become an excellent bear hunter. He became a hunter because he swore an oath to kill ten bears for every victim of the attack. By the time he reached the age of 62, he had killed 102 bears, He then retired and constructed the bear harm cenotaph (熊害慰霊碑, Yūgai Ireihi?), a shrine where people can pray for the dead villagers.

LOL, the article for SFMTA (a really boring article that is mostly a list of board members etc.) has a trivia section! With fun facts such as these:

Trivia:
MTA Board member Shirley Breyer Black is the only member of the initial MTA Board in 2000 still serving on the board.
MTA Board member Shirley Breyer Black is the aunt of United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.
Muni's Flynn Division is named for former MTA Board chair H. Welton Flynn.
MTA Board Vice Chairman Tom Nolan, before moving to San Francisco, was a member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, and was the first openly gay member of that body.
MTA Board member Bruce Oka is the only MTA Board member to have served on both the MTA Board and the MTA Citizens Advisory Council.
Former MTA Board member Leah Shahum is the current Executive Director of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.
Director Cameron Beach is the former chief operating officer of the Sacramento Regional Transit District and current vice president of the Market Street Railway.
Former MTA Board member José Cisneros was later appointed, and subsequently elected, to the position of city Treasurer & Tax Collector.

Other less likely explanations involve "Hogan" (a nickname for Irish workers at the Hogg Island shipyard), a reference to the pork or "hog" meat used in hoagies, "honky sandwich" (using a racial slur for white people seen eating them) or "hooky sandwich" (derived from "hookie" for truant kids seen eating them).[3] Shortly after WWII, there were numerous varieties of the term in use throughout Philadelphia. By the 1940s, the spellings "hoagie" and, to a lesser extent, "hoagy" had come to dominate lesser user variations like "hoogie" and "hoggie".[10] By 1955, restaurants throughout the area were using the term "hoagie", with many selling hoagies and subs or hoagies and pizza. Listing in Pittsburgh show hoagies arriving in 1961 and becoming widespread in that city by 1966.[10]

Brel worked on the song at his house overlooking the Mediterranean at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, the house he shared with Sylvie Rivet, a publicist for Philips, in the place she had made known to him in 1960. It was the ideal place for him to create, and to indulge his passion for boats and planes. One morning at six o'clock he read the words of Amsterdam to Fernand, a restaurateur who was about to set off fishing for scorpion fish and conger eels for the bouillabaisse. Overcome, Fernand broke out in sobs and cut open some sea urchins to help control his emotion.[2]

Before its new use, the word crunk meant a hoarse, harsh cry.[6] The first known use of the word crunk was in 1972 by Dr. Seuss in his book Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now!.[7] In the book, crunk was used as a part of crunk-car compound, which meant inexistent type of transport.[8] In the mid 1990s, crunk was variously defined either as "hype, phat" or "the past tense of 'crank'" on rec.music.hip-hop newsgroup.[4] In 1999, Rolling Stone magazine published "glossary of Dirty South slang", where to crunk was defined as "to get excited".[4] The lyrics of "Who U Wit?", 1996 song by Lil Jon, contained the very first use of the word crunk in the context of crunk music.[2]
