love will terius apart (k3vin k.), Friday, 9 October 2009 18:59 (fourteen years ago) link

can't be bothered counting but about 30.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Friday, 9 October 2009 19:18 (fourteen years ago) link

You should bump the thread occasionally and maybe get more votes. There are thousands of ILXors out there waiting to be activated.

Suggest Gandhi (onimo), Friday, 9 October 2009 19:19 (fourteen years ago) link

Getting my ballot ready. Btw, two J.J. Abrams shows are missing from the list: Felicity (debatable, since it ran from '98-02) and Alias (which is definitely gonna be in my list somewhere).

Nhex, Friday, 9 October 2009 21:09 (fourteen years ago) link

Except Alias had one (half) of an awesome season, then either terrible everything else.

Super Smize (Leee), Friday, 9 October 2009 22:43 (fourteen years ago) link

i'm gonna have to disagree on that one - even the third season (where it really started to get thin) was pretty enjoyable for the most part. first two seasons are excellent imo

Nhex, Friday, 9 October 2009 23:40 (fourteen years ago) link

True, it was enjoyable but pathologically frustrating at the same time, IIRC. But who am I to say no to such uneven quality? I nom nom nommed'd TSCC.

Super Smize (Leee), Friday, 9 October 2009 23:58 (fourteen years ago) link

haha i actually almost put that on myself - got a lot better in the second season, for real

Nhex, Saturday, 10 October 2009 00:13 (fourteen years ago) link

Just hoping House MD makes it on the final list!

Alex Android (Viceroy), Saturday, 10 October 2009 04:14 (fourteen years ago) link

vote for it then. vote for it high on yo' list.

Shameless bump fun-time: So who is the hardest motherfucker on telly in the 0000000s then? Omar? Paulie? Ali G? Steve O? Raymond's brother who I can never remember the name of but he always puts food to his chin before he eats and he's the size of the house and most probably could take all of them if weapons aren't involved... plus the dad was bloody frankenstein so you know that's pretty hard? Bernard Black's liver? Buffy, she was a slayer of the vampires you know?

P.S. Superman was kind of wimpy and shite this decade, weren't he? Even if he was pretty...

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:22 (fourteen years ago) link

Chloe's more bad-ass than Superman this decade.

Hardest mofo on telly - Tony Almeida, man. He only exists to wander around being hard and moody. Even after he died.

ailsa, Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:27 (fourteen years ago) link

ha, i forgot 24 even existed. :(

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 11 October 2009 16:32 (fourteen years ago) link

I mean Chloe on Smallville in my first sentence, btw, though Chloe O'Brian's pretty badass, in a witheringly sarcastic sort of a way.

ailsa, Sunday, 11 October 2009 16:39 (fourteen years ago) link

Almeida's soulpatch disqualifies him.

Super Smize (Leee), Sunday, 11 October 2009 21:12 (fourteen years ago) link

I also forgot Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2007-2008), whose second season is making me trust my love of the first a bit more--just fantastic acting, writing, and handling of myriad moral, social, and sexual issues in a London setting Americans don't get to see much. The Slate pan was very stupid: Billie Piper is amazing.

Pete Scholtes, Sunday, 11 October 2009 23:02 (fourteen years ago) link

Mmmm, maybe The Daily Show instead of one of those last few...

Pete Scholtes, Sunday, 11 October 2009 23:05 (fourteen years ago) link

John from Cincinnati would have been on my ballot if it had been nommed.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Sunday, 11 October 2009 23:11 (fourteen years ago) link

Hey, did anyone nom Summer Heights High? I don't think it would be in my top 30, but certainly worthy of recognition.

chap, Sunday, 11 October 2009 23:15 (fourteen years ago) link

Top 30? I thought our ballots are for 25.

Super Smize (Leee), Monday, 12 October 2009 00:24 (fourteen years ago) link

Sorry, they are for 25. Was momentarily confused by Pete's list above.

chap, Monday, 12 October 2009 00:44 (fourteen years ago) link

also forgot Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2007-2008), whose second season is making me trust my love of the first a bit more--just fantastic acting, writing, and handling of myriad moral, social, and sexual issues in a London setting Americans don't get to see much.

^ poll it (Lamp), Monday, 12 October 2009 04:19 (fourteen years ago) link

I have just started watching In Treatment. So far, so great. Might have to reassess my tentative list.

ailsa, Monday, 12 October 2009 14:37 (fourteen years ago) link

i wonder if Pete gets HBO

some other dudes, and obviously no Peter Hook (some dude), Monday, 12 October 2009 14:54 (fourteen years ago) link

A glaring omission has just occurred to me. Malcolm in the Middle!

chap, Monday, 12 October 2009 17:01 (fourteen years ago) link

Um, excuse me, but how did you guys forget so many MTV and Food Network gems?!

got that candy zing (Tape Store), Monday, 12 October 2009 18:41 (fourteen years ago) link

what stopped you from nominating them?

some dude, Monday, 12 October 2009 18:46 (fourteen years ago) link

I'm sure we can get away without 12 different The Hills spin offs and Hogan Knows Best. But if you want to vote for it, go crazy. Other people have voted for shit that isn't on the list. It's more of a reminder of what was made. Also if it isn't on the list it is unlikely anyone else will vote for it and it won't make the Top 50, but you can still have a go, I'm not picky.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 12 October 2009 18:49 (fourteen years ago) link

okay i sent my picks!

scott seward, Monday, 12 October 2009 19:37 (fourteen years ago) link

kinda surprised Letterman didn't at least get nominated.

WmC, Monday, 12 October 2009 20:05 (fourteen years ago) link

i don't think barely anyone was thinking much about late night talk shows beyond Daily Show/Colbert Report, 3 of the few nominations there were (Conan, Ferguson and Late World With Zach) were mine.

some dude, Monday, 12 October 2009 20:09 (fourteen years ago) link

Shameless bump time: So who was the best token best friend in this decades telly? Ol' Gay Willow on Buffy? Wusshisname from Slumdog Millionaire in Skins? Lane in Gilmore Girls? Wallace and wusshisname latino guy who always was up to lol crime in Veronica Mars? Bender as token robot?

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:05 (fourteen years ago) link

Landry in Friday Night Lights

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:08 (fourteen years ago) link

would also say Neil and Bill in Freaks and Geeks, but I think that unfairly underplays their roles there.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:08 (fourteen years ago) link

Neil and Bill are tokens?

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:11 (fourteen years ago) link

Never seen FNL so cannot comment on lol telly still doesn't know how to address minorities.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:11 (fourteen years ago) link

ooh, i see. well, neil was jewish.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:12 (fourteen years ago) link

they were great and now i do wish i had f&g on dvd so i could watch the episode where they make bill drink their own concotions.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Monday, 12 October 2009 21:14 (fourteen years ago) link

shameless bump #15: Just spent the past half hour tallying up votes I hadn't counted in the past couple days and we have currently had 19 different shows voted #1 and 39 voters. Come on people, we can do better than that!

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 12:18 (fourteen years ago) link

are we posting our votes yet then?

i worry i am the only person voting for friends, but that show really did hit its straps in the 2000s (pretty awful before then).

caek, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 12:23 (fourteen years ago) link

Personally I'd say wait till after the results are posted to post your individual votes (just not to spoil it) but feel free to talk about shows and encouraging people to vote for things they may have forgotten.

I don't think I'm giving much to say that more than 1 person has voted for Friends tho.

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 12:26 (fourteen years ago) link

And also, anything you ever want to talk about post it so this thread stays near the top of new answers. :)

Samuel (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 12:27 (fourteen years ago) link

tim riggins is a fkn hunk but he never said "cuz I'm CRIPPLED and I want to listen to NIRVANA!"

coz (webinar), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 16:32 (fourteen years ago) link

I made a mistake and didn't vote It's Always Sunny in my ballot because I wasn't really into it when I submitted the ballot. But it should be like #3 on my list. Can that be fixed?
