Don't think so. I have no money, it's Fabric and there's an England match the next day I want to be in a reasonable state for. That minimal stuff on the 8th looks tempting though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 June 2006 08:24 (nineteen years ago)

Actually, what I would really like sometime soon is a night of big FRIDAY dancing, as every Saturday in forever is kind of filled up. Anything good going on?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 June 2006 08:27 (nineteen years ago)

My friends are playing at a bar named Fluid tomorrow nite, round the corner from Fabric. Usual suspects' dance music, basically. Night's called Short Circuit, used to do very good buisness back in our student daze.

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Thursday, 22 June 2006 17:54 (nineteen years ago)

Did anyone go on Saturday in the end then?

Also, who is up for CROSS CENTRAL on the August bank holiday weekend? I'm toying with the idea of both nights but may just get Saturday tix at first.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 10:43 (nineteen years ago)

annabel, ian, sophie, robin and i went, with some of annabel's work colleagues. it was FUCKING AWESOME! we ended up drinking lager on the pavement of gray's inn road at 8.30am like proper homeless people. impressively katie also went out raving, still with her cast on.

tdk is ON - i'm thinking both days...

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 10:58 (nineteen years ago)

i am up for CROSS CENTRAL even though it is this young person's dancing music. i'm only going for the folk ;)

and only the saturday.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 11:10 (nineteen years ago)

our plan for tdk is to outdo last year's debauchery!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 11:43 (nineteen years ago)

I am gonna go to one day of Cross Central. I dunno which bcz my brother is sorting it out.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 11:45 (nineteen years ago)

Cross Central Saturday looks good, less bothered about the sunday.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 11:47 (nineteen years ago)

Looking at the line-ups, Saturday looks better, even if Sunday does have Annie and Booka Shade.

Halfway down the list = LEX RECORDS DJs!

impressively katie also went out raving, still with her cast on.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 12:02 (nineteen years ago)

Saturday at Fabric was great. Good little Sonar carry-on. I didnt make it to Public Life but am sure it would have been equally debauched.

I'm in Isle of Wight this weekend, but next weekend there is a lot on. Cocoon 2 @ The End, and Tales of the Jackalope in South Derbyshire.

rchinn (rchinn), Thursday, 29 June 2006 12:29 (nineteen years ago)

London people who enjoy things like Forget About The Sugar - anyone up for the London launch of It Came From The Sea? The Brighton ones I've been to in the last couple of years have been almost unfailingly awesome...

Flyboy (Flyboy), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 08:59 (nineteen years ago)

That's this Saturday, obv...

Flyboy (Flyboy), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 08:59 (nineteen years ago)

This looks good but I'm already triple-booked for Saturday. What time does this end? There might be after-hours dancing fun somewhere...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:29 (nineteen years ago)

i'm now quadruple-booked for saturday and i KNOW NOT WHAT TO DO :(

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:30 (nineteen years ago)

You're actually quintruple-booked - there's something else you're forgetting.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:45 (nineteen years ago)

I DON'T HAVE A BLOODY THING TO DO ON SATURDAY.

I AM TRULY RELISHING THE IDEA OF A QUIET NIGHT IN DOING ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL EXCEPT LYING ON THE SOFA LISTENING TO HAWKWIND.

Don't you dare be too hung over to come to the BBQ on Sunday. :-(

Tangerine Machine (kate), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:47 (nineteen years ago)

i am almost 100% certain that you are in fact correct. maybe i'm even sextuple-booked!

xp what bbq!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:47 (nineteen years ago)

Shimuras BBQ at the Windmill on Sunday.

Tangerine Machine (kate), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 09:54 (nineteen years ago)

Ah! That sounds as if it would be lovely, actually, esp if I am hungover/have not been to sleep yet.

I have decided that I will endeavour to do three of the five parties on Saturday.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 10:00 (nineteen years ago)

Is "fashion" a kind of music now?

Tracey Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 10:07 (nineteen years ago)

I think that's just word association. Musn't pause, musn't hesitate, get a bash on the head like this -

Flyboy (Flyboy), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 11:00 (nineteen years ago)

"Action music" sounds fun!

Tracey Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 11:02 (nineteen years ago)

I thought it was "fashion pop" as in "sleaze rock".

Margarine Machine (kate), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

I very much doubt I'm going to be in a fit state to make the barbeque sadly. If I do, it could well qualify as the biggest ILX weekend ever.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 11:09 (nineteen years ago)

I should go to It Came From The Sea if only because it's quite near where I live.

What else is going on that's not already been mentioned?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 11:10 (nineteen years ago)

Rave tonight with the Turks of Thailand in the ditch.

rchinn (rchinn), Friday, 21 July 2006 15:09 (nineteen years ago)

Is there much happening in August, apart from Cross Central? I quite fancy a couple of big nights and this thread has been very quiet of late.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 21 July 2006 15:12 (nineteen years ago)

So, I am going to Fabric tonight. Nothing really good on there, just some friends playing in Room 3. If anyone ends up there for whatever reason, say "Hey". I will say "Hi" back.

rchinn (rchinn), Saturday, 29 July 2006 17:47 (nineteen years ago)

anything on this weekend?

Ed (dali), Monday, 31 July 2006 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

Looking around briefly, nothing terribly exciting. Fabric has Craig Richards, Ewan Pearson, Prins Thomas and Spirit Catcher live which could be good, but almost certainly not your thing.

I want to go dancing this weekend though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 31 July 2006 07:20 (nineteen years ago)

I want to be back in sheffield I got texts on saturday night about a minimal techno free party, in a roman era gritstone quarry, from ambrose and was V. jealous.

Ed (dali), Monday, 31 July 2006 07:25 (nineteen years ago)

i think i may need a small break from the dancing. i realised yesterday that all my weekends these days appear to have at least one night of no sleep in them, this may not be something that it is perhaps wise to do every week, and i need to save energy for the second half of august.

ie, call me on friday.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 31 July 2006 08:32 (nineteen years ago)

Anyone up for Errorsmith on Saturday?

http://www.errorsmith.de/

Terms like "spastic disco", "elastic breaks", even "wonky techno" have been thrown about when it comes to describing Erik Wiegand's Errorsmith project. With only a handful of releases and even less live visibility, this is a rare treat for anyone interested in the more experimental end of dancefloor rhythms. He'll be treating us to an improvised three-hour Ableton Live set that'll see dancehall / dubstep / disco as well as his own twisted creations being thrown into a heady mix. Just bear in mind that he comes from Berlin's revered Basic Channel family of artists and you'll be fine. Sonic perfection stretched to breaking point.
NB: call 07977.420.999 / 07989.571.552 or email [email protected] for more info.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 3 August 2006 07:52 (nineteen years ago)

I forwarded the relevant kultureflash to your mail.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 3 August 2006 08:37 (nineteen years ago)

Is anything happening this weekend? My friend is down and she wants to go dancing.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Monday, 7 August 2006 09:02 (nineteen years ago)

i'm not sure - i only just realised that this weekend is not acid on sea weekend yet.

i quite enjoyed the novelty of sleeping properly throughout this weekend, i might do it again!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 August 2006 09:37 (nineteen years ago)

i can always be tempted though. usually it's gareth who does the tempting.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 August 2006 09:37 (nineteen years ago)

i went to a warehouse party in seven sisters,

im thinking bangface this weekend, though i'm always open to other options

-- (688), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:45 (nineteen years ago)

That looks awesome! Unfortunately my working week has gone very wrong very quickly and I'm glad I'm alert enough to try and salvage it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:47 (nineteen years ago)

also, talking of acid on sea, i met a couple who met each other at last years acid on sea

-- (688), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:50 (nineteen years ago)

SL2, B12 ... ?!!

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:53 (nineteen years ago)

gareth have you got your acid on sea ticket yet? they're probably sold out now!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 August 2006 11:02 (nineteen years ago)

Bangface does look great but I think my friend would go mental after ten minutes and cry.

(Acid on Sea tix only from Rough Trade Covent Garden now)

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Monday, 7 August 2006 11:11 (nineteen years ago)

acid on sea - is this where you're trapped in a "party boat" for hours?? ugh

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Monday, 7 August 2006 11:40 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
Bank holiday around the corner and not a peep in this thread.

I'm probably going to check out Carl Craig and Beyer @ Fabric on Saturday. Then carnival on Sunday, followed by Lasermagnetic and Underline. Not sure about Monday.

rchinn (rchinn), Wednesday, 23 August 2006 18:18 (nineteen years ago)

i'm in norwich for the weekend :-(
