They always scorch the whole bowl. It's rude and amateurish.

a little glass thing called an ubie that was like $10 and had most of the benefits of a vape
We got one of these but couldn't really get the hang of it. Either nothing came out of it at all or as said above we'd hold the lighter too close and it'd just be like a normal pipe. Never used it again cos we've not been able to get a decent supply for over 2 years now and haven't really got enough to waste trying to figure it out.
― Colonel Poo, Friday, 2 October 2009 20:52 (sixteen years ago)
Hate when folks torch the bowl. Just blazing the flame the whole time that they are taking their hit. It's lit already! Don't fucking scorch the whole bowl!
I wish I had a volcano of my own.
― Trip Maker, Friday, 2 October 2009 20:57 (sixteen years ago)
The turkey roasting bag on the Volcano is what makes it fool proof. Too many other vaporizers, you're all "did I get a hit?"
― Nate Carson, Friday, 2 October 2009 20:57 (sixteen years ago)
I like to turn the setting up high on the volcano. It's cool cuz its variable! You can change the concentration of the vapors! Also, you can cook with or even smoke the weed after you've vaporized it, usually, and is good to have around when you run out of fresh shit. Better than resin or roaches, anyway. IMO.
― Trip Maker, Friday, 2 October 2009 21:00 (sixteen years ago)
eh that vapor in the bag gets stale
― cutty, Friday, 2 October 2009 21:01 (sixteen years ago)
That's why you take the whole thing in one toke!(no you don't, you'll turn green)
― Trip Maker, Friday, 2 October 2009 21:03 (sixteen years ago)
A whole bag of vapor is for sharing, not camping.
― Nate Carson, Saturday, 3 October 2009 09:11 (sixteen years ago)
the model i use is mostly single hit and i think it is both more economical and efficient
― cutty, Saturday, 3 October 2009 12:16 (sixteen years ago)
this all sounds good (cept for the $400). so it solves the scorched bowl problem? i just hate the taste of mostly burnt smoke.

the VaporGenie is the best vape for your dollar and looks like a regular tobacco pipe. You can smoke it in public and pretend that your multiple hits are merely attempts to light the damn thing. Then you can pretend to give up in frustration once you're high and none's the wiser.

Feds to issue new medical marijuana policy
By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer Devlin Barrett, Associated Press Writer 14 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Federal drug agents won't pursue pot-smoking patients or their sanctioned suppliers in states that allow medical marijuana, under new legal guidelines to be issued Monday by the Obama administration.
Two Justice Department officials described the new policy to The Associated Press, saying prosecutors will be told it is not a good use of their time to arrest people who use or provide medical marijuana in strict compliance with state law.
The guidelines to be issued by the department do, however, make it clear that agents will go after people whose marijuana distribution goes beyond what is permitted under state law or use medical marijuana as a cover for other crimes, the officials said.
The new policy is a significant departure from the Bush administration, which insisted it would continue to enforce federal anti-pot laws regardless of state codes.
Fourteen states allow some use of marijuana for medical purposes: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
California is unique among those for the widespread presence of dispensaries — businesses that sell marijuana and even advertise their services. Colorado also has several dispensaries, and Rhode Island and New Mexico are in the process of licensing providers, according to the Marijuana Policy Project, a group that promotes the decriminalization of marijuana use.
Attorney General Eric Holder said in March that he wanted federal law enforcement officials to pursue those who violate both federal and state law, but it has not been clear how that goal would be put into practice.
A three-page memo spelling out the policy is expected to be sent Monday to federal prosecutors in the 14 states, and also to top officials at the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration.
The memo, the officials said, emphasizes that prosecutors have wide discretion in choosing which cases to pursue, and says it is not a good use of federal manpower to prosecute those who are without a doubt in compliance with state law.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the legal guidance before it is issued.
"This is a major step forward," said Bruce Mirken, communications director for the Marijuana Policy Project. "This change in policy moves the federal government dramatically toward respecting scientific and practical reality."
At the same time, the officials said, the government will still prosecute those who use medical marijuana as a cover for other illegal activity. The memo particularly warns that some suspects may hide old-fashioned drug dealing or other crimes behind a medical marijuana business.
In particular, the memo urges prosecutors to pursue marijuana cases which involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or involvement in other crimes.
And while the policy memo describes a change in priorities away from prosecuting medical marijuana cases, it does not rule out the possibility that the federal government could still prosecute someone whose activities are allowed under state law.
The memo, officials said, is designed to give a sense of prosecutorial priorities to U.S. attorneys in the states that allow medical marijuana. It notes that pot sales in the United States are the largest source of money for violent Mexican drug cartels, but adds that federal law enforcement agencies have limited resources.
Medical marijuana advocates have been anxious to see exactly how the administration would implement candidate Barack Obama's repeated promises to change the policy in situations in which state laws allow the use of medical marijuana.
Soon after Obama took office, DEA agents raided four dispensaries in Los Angeles, prompting confusion about the government's plans.

"Yet a world-class athlete like Michael Phelps is ridiculed, punished and forced to apologize for marijuana, the use of which contributes to zero deaths, and has never been linked to violent or reckless behavior. Why the double standard?"
this is up there with richard dawkins' 'if there was no religion there would be no wars' on the bullshit scale, though.

Ever have the "smoking pot" dream, where you totally get high in your dream? Waking up is more of a comedown than usual, but at least it's fast.
Is there any other drug that you can dream about using and get 100% of the effect in your dream? I don't think I've ever had any "drunk" dreams.

― Cronenberg sleazy (kenan), Thursday, 10 December 2009 14:37 (sixteen years ago)
dude, you should try lucid dreaming - you can make up strange alien drugs and try them and have the most intense drug experiences you've ever felt without any negative effects or comedown or hangover or fried synapses. and you can like mix and match, oh, i'll have the euphoria of that one and the visual hallucinations of that one, but without any of the nasty paranoia of either. kinda makes *actual* drugs experiences seem almost a let down by comparison
not that i've ever done any of that mind you
― Karen Tregaskin, Thursday, 10 December 2009 14:38 (sixteen years ago)
Actually, in my dream I was smoking pot, being really happy about that, and having a conversation about how cool it is when you dream about getting high. It wasn't quite lucid, but it was certainly meta.

Absolute dud is seeing any loud band when stoned. The minute they start playing I start to think I'm about to fall over and have to go and lean against a wall. Now never smoke before gigs.
