imo that is the better of the barton smith records, but also that is like comparing two really good records.

johnny darrell is big fave of mine. i got california stop over 5 or so years ago and then eventually acquired almost the entire catalog.. i think there still might be one i don't have, the one after california stop over. 'ruby, don't take yer love to town' is straight classics on the first side and some sad, sad ballads on the b... really great versions of 'mental revenge' and 'she's mighty gone'
